I tend to breeze through YA's answering what I can from knowledge, or i'll throw a couple of custard pies around, if a question deserves it.

Whereas the asking of questions, is different, I tend to ask what I genuinely seek, though occasionally a banana skin will fall from my pocket.

And I don't consider 'point-tallying' important enough for me to prevent the asking of questions.

I put a 'humourous' reply to a Q, and got this off of some idiot.

I want to be able to sit downstairs, in the living room, with my partner. But still be able to surf, and continue to go in chatrooms, forums, and stuff.

My partner being better suited to answer some of the stuff, that i'm asked, than I am.

So figured a laptop would be a good idea.

I have the pc, upstairs, in a little room, with the modem on the desk, with the end of the cable going through the wall directly underneath. With the associated 'box'.

No other means of internet in the house.

What do I need to be able to use the laptop, less than thirty feet away, without cables everywhere ?

And while i'm here. What laptop would be best suited ?

I don't plan on playing CoD downstairs.

I am a complete newbie at laptops. Be gentle.

The power in my Doblo goes for no reason. Well, no reason that I can tell.

It's a diesel. I've replaced the battery, so I know it's not that. But for some reason, after three, or four days, when I come to use my van, it won't start. It's like there is no power in the battery at all. But i've replaced the battery, and know it's not that. I keep having to plug it in to a battery charger, but am getting fed up with that now.

I heard it's possibly some 'glow' 'things'..? ..or my alternator.

Can anyone help, and how much is it likely to cost me to get it fixed ?

...i get a new folder opening up automatically, without me asking for it.

Usually advertising. I've cleaned out my cookies, history, everything. Run CCleaner, even run adaware to try and get rid. But I am still getting auto page folders opening up on my internet browser.

Can anyone help.

And if you can, could you explain in idiot terms how to get rid of it. I'm a bit of an idiot with pc's.
