  • All this public support for A BOY who was bullied? What about GIRLS who are bullied?

With the viral video of that bullied Tennessee boy, and with all the public support from celebrities and public figures, does it bother anyone else to see A BOY getting all this public support and sympathy while young girls who are bullied get nothing basically? Especially since bullying affects girls alot more so than boys?

  • Has there been an actor / actress who is sooooo annoying you just want to beat the living crud out of??

Has there ever been that one actor or actress who you just hate so much with every fiber of your being that anytime he or she shows up onscreen you just want to bang your head against the wall??? I have quite a few, but one that has been coming to mind for me lately is that annoying little sh*t-puke who was Charlie in Fright Night. I forgot his name but lately he just seems to be popping up spontaneously on alot of my favorite TV shows!! Even in movies lately!! Like a few years back I went to see this movie with Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe and I was really liking it. Then Charlie showed up on the screen and I immediately threw my popcorn on the floor, walked out of the theater and demanded a refund! Or I would be watching episodes of CSI or Criminal Minds, or anything on TV and out of freaking nowhere this actor would just show up out of nowhere! He has also been turning up at horror conventions all the time these past several years after not doing them at all. And my hatred of this guy, which started late last year when I was watching Fright Night for Halloween, just completely boiled over when I was watching footage of him talking more than his other castmates, even talking over them at times, having this extreme sense of entitlement and self-importance. And the other castmembers all just looked at him, like, WTF, DUDE?! I swear, I got the feeling at times Chris Sarandon was aching to clasp a hand over his mouth! Yet Charlie never has or had any fans!

  • Remember a show called "Herman's Head"?

I just started re-watching old episodes of the show, "Herman's Head", on YouTube and it's quite a fun show. I used to watch it alot because I loved Hank Azaria on it. However, one thing that always bugged me about this show to the point of disturbing me was the fact that the geeky actor who played Charlie Brewster in "Fright Night" was the lead and they were playing up to be this chick-magnet for some reason. I never really found him all that cute, or good looking, and could never quite wrap my head around why he was chosen as the lead in a show where he got all the girls. It's not like he's Chris Sarandon, you know? Also, I have a very strange feeling, watching the episodes now, that all those actresses were both talking his ear off about being in love with Chris Sarandon and then when filming kissing scenes with him they were picturing themselves kissing Sarandon instead. I mean, Marcia Brady??? Lita Ford??? Michelle Phillips??? REALLY??? And, also, he was also picked as the lead guy in "Mannequin 2"!!

Were they REALLY that hard-up for leading men back then???

  • Does anyone else think Christmas is extremely sexist and patriarchal? Should it be more female-friendly?

This is something nobody really addresses. And as soon as someone does bring up this issue, they are usually silences, mostly by clueless white men! I always had a rough time liking Christmas, because it is just so patriarchal and oppressive to women. It is very obviously a male-dominated holiday, with Santa Claus (a MAN), Jesus (a MAN), not to mention every Christmas-themed movie aimed at kids features a young BOY in the lead. And the whole "Good will towards MEN" thing...UGH!!!! And don't even get me started on "Baby, it's Cold Outside" and misteltoe! Any ladies out there agree with me on this?

  • Is substance abuse a bigger issue for women than men?

I feel men have a much easier time battling and overcoming drug and alcohol addiction than women, mainly because specialists tend to be alot more efficient and even sympathetic towards men for some reason. And men tend to be taken more seriously when they're battling substance abuse, whereas women tend to get alot of jokes at their expense. And women also tend to die from substance abuse alot more frequently than men. Anyone else agree with me on this?

  • Is there more respect for MALE celebrity deaths than FEMALE??

Prince dies: Musical tributes left and right, celebrity tributes left and right, "Saturday Night Live" devotes an entire show to his legacy and career, people wearing purple in his honor, special concerts being planned, "Purple Rain" being shown in theaters.

David Bowie dies: Special musical tributes left and right, celebrity tributes left and right, special concerts and events in his honor, tribute performances in his honor at award shows, he is remembered and respected for his legacy.

Michael Jackson: Musical tributes left and right, celebrity tributes left and right, entire concerts honoring his legacy, still remembered and honored for his legacy and career and cultural impact, documentaries about his career left and right.

Whitney Houston: Tabloid rumors, off-color jokes regarding her substance abuse, no special concerts/events honoring her legacy and career and impact, her death is often used for fodder for comedians and spoofs.

    Anyone else see the disparities?

  • What can we do to make Christmas less man-centric and more female-friendly?

I don t know about anyone else, but I have always felt that Christmas is an extremely sexist, patriarchal, misogynistic holiday that centers on celebrating MEN!! Think about it; Santa Claus, A MAN, is the symbol of kindness and generosity and is widely beloved by all, while Mrs. Santa Claus remains widely ignored and just stays at home while he s out delivering gifts and stuff. Also, "Good will towards MEN"??? EXCUSE ME??? And what s with all these female singers singing about wanting A MAN for Christmas???? How about wanting peace on earth??? Maybe we can call it CHICKMAS instead of Christmas from now on.

  • Is No-Shave November/Movember REALLY necessary??

While I can completely understand devoting an entire month to breast cancer awareness (or any cancer that affects women), is it really necessary to have a No-Shave November every year? First of all, everyone knows that cancer kills more women than men each year, mainly because there aren't nearly enough treatments, or treatment options, for women are there are for men. Secondly, do we really want to ensure that potential rapists, wife beaters, terrorists, philanderers, misogynists and oppressors of women get to live long lives? And, finally, we still live in a heavily patriarchal society...need I say more? So, why are we being forced to wear mustaches to raise awareness for men's cancers while millions of women continue to die from cancer everyday? Well, sure is good to see that male privilege is still alive and well in the year 2015

  • Anyone else SICK TO DEATH of Taylor Swift?!?!?!?

I was never a huge fan. First time I saw her during this Christmas special back in '07, I was like..."This girl cannot sing". Then what clinched it for me was watching her with Def Leppard (one of my favorite bands BTW) and she could NOT keep up with them!! Nowadays, SHE'S EVERYWHERE!!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!! And all she ever sings about or talks about are her ex-boyfriends!! And she's just as bad as Jennifer Aniston, latching on to anyone and everyone in Hollywood who'll put up with her crap!! (And not just boyfriends, but friends in general) Seriously, I want to see more TALENTED artists who sing about OTHER THINGS besides famous ex-boyfriends!! And do NOT even get me started on the awkward chicken-dancing and the "shocked" expressions everytime she wins anything (even though, quite frankly, I'm also pretty shocked whenever she wins anything as well) looking like she's having an orgasm or something!! Anybody else out there sick of this chick already???

  • Does anyone else think that the public support around the "body-shamed dancing man" (I don t know his name!) is extremely sexist?

I m talking about all these people taking to social media to defend him, he s making all these public appearances, everyone seems to love him, ect. I just think that it s unfair that no publicly body-shamed WOMEN are getting the same kind of public support! Body-shaming affects women alot greater than it affects men. Well...glad to see that MALE PRIVILEGE is still alive and well in 2015! *eye roll* Whatever!

  • Are these romantic comedies/so-called "chick flicks" damaging to women and feminism??

"When Harry Met Sally", "Pretty Woman", "Sleepless in Seattle", "While You Were Sleeping", "The Notebook", "Bridget Jones"...do all these so-called "chick flicks" set women and feminism back by enforcing the whole "need-a-man-to-be-happy-and-fulfilled" crapola??? In my opinion, these rom-coms really send a bad message to women and young girls, telling them that we need men to be complete. In all honesty, I for one would like to see less of these sexist, misogynistic romantic comedies and more films like "Thelma & Louise", "Steel Magnolias", "Boys on the Side" and "Ya-Ya Sisterhood", movies that explore the beauty of female friendship and relationships between women, which are far more beautiful and meaningful than any male/female relationship. REAL chick flicks! Also, how about more kick-*** "I-hate-all-men" women movies and female superhero movies??? Anyone out there agree with me???

  • Is Christmas sexist?

Does anyone else think Christmas is a highly sexist and misogynistic holiday? Think about it: it s Jesus birthday, Santa Claus is a MAN and "good will towards MEN??? In this era of "Frozen" and female empowerment, doesn t Christmas reinforce the whole patriarchal society we live in?

  • Ray Rice vs. Solange Knowles??

Why is it that Ray Rice is fired from his team and universally hated for beating his wife, yet Solange Knowles is celebrated and universally loved for beating Jay-Z? Solange's album sales and youtube views skyrocketed and she's even seen as a feminist hero and every woman who mentions the Solange beat down on Jay-Z says "You go, girl!!"

  • Why do we hate older men who date younger women, yet love older women who date younger men?

Why is it that older men who date younger women get villified, but older women who date younger men get praised? Isn't this a double standard?

  • What's so great about Britney Spears?

Why does every man in the world still consider Britney Spears to be the single most beautiful/sexiest/hottest woman in the entire world when there are so many other beautiful, smart, classy, sexy women out there? Like Beyoncé, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Kate Upton, Halle Berry, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, J-Lo, Scarlett Johansson, Megan Fox, Jessica Alba, ect.??? Everywhere I go, men are always talking up Britney, like it's still 2002, or something. Why is a woman who shaved her head and went crazy on us still so widely thought of as the single most beautiful woman on the planet?

  • Why does female friendship elude me?

I work at an animal shelter with mostly women and only a couple of men. Yet, I'm lucky to even get a "hello" from the women. But the guys are always super friendly with me. One of them even follows me around, trying to make conversation with me. This one time, I just happened to be eating at the same McDonald's they were eating at, and I happened to see them and I waved and asked how they were doing. They just looked at me and went back about their business. So, I just sat by myself and one of the guys I work with comes over and sits with me. I didn't want to be rude, so I just sat and talked with him. The women still ignore me and the guys are all friendly with me. What upsets me is that I keep hearing about the power of female friendships and how they are better than anything you could ever have with a man. Yet, the only people who seem to want to be my friend are...men! Why is this?

  • Is "The Wizard of Oz" sexist?

Not just the movie, but the entire story of this girl, Dorothy, needing to be guided along by three male characters? And how in the movie, Dorothy cries like a baby and needs the "big, strong men" to save her from the wicked witch? Also, the meanie of the story is a woman! Also, why are Dorothy's three friends MALE?!?!?! I, for one, would have been much happier seeing Dorothy with three females instead of males! Because, as well all know, women rule and men drool.

  • Adam Levine's Proactive ads sexist?

Does anyone else think that the new Proactive ads with Adam Levine are REALLY sexist??? Because it's almost like he's deliberately patronizing women and girls who have low self-esteem and poor body image issues. Does anyone else feel this way?

  • Does anyone else find "The Big Bang Theory" highly offensive to women?

I admit, I used to really love this show, and thought it was really funny. But I watch it now and realize how anti-women it really is. First off, you have the Penny character, who is the stereotypical blonde "bimbo", who drinks and wears slutty clothes and basically behaves like a total airhead. Second, you have the female characters who are often naggy, or b*tchy and they are rarely ever funny. It's almost like they're just there are objects. Third, when Sheldon spanked Amy for pretending she was sick. As far as I'm concerned, spanking is violence and violence against women is NEVER okay! I mean, I know there are young girls who watch this show, and I would not want some girl or woman thinking it's okay to let a man put his hands on her like that. Finally, the episode where Howard accidentally takes estrogen and starts behaving like a woman...WOW!!! So sexist on so many levels. The way he was acting all winey and stuff...just more typical sexist stereotypes men just love to perpetuate! And the jiggling man-boobs scene was REALLY offensive to women, especially since October is breast cancer awareness month and there are so many women living with this disease, or who have suffered and had to have surgery. No laughing matter. What do you guys think???
