TheWatchtowerIsLyingToYou
I am a charismatic born-again Christian who believes fully in the Bible and everything it says. My passion is for Jehovah's Witnesses. They are so lost in this world. My goal is to get them to answer the tough questions, and to ask more questions. I want them to ask their parents, their friends, their elders, and their governing body at the Watchtower. Any Jehovah's Witness that would like to talk, feel free to message me. The ultimate goal is to show them who Jesus really is and help them to have a personal relationship with Him.
What side of the political spectrum do Jehovah's Witnesses most closely relate?
I know they're not allowed to participate in politics, vote, run for office, or defend their countries/families from invading countires, but with how they run their internal government, known as the Watchtower, what political wing would they be on?
Conservative?
Liberal?
Fascist?
Socialist?
Communist?
I believe it's communist due to the fact that they have two classes, their Kings and the Others. All of the others are to be equal in every way, and the kings tell them how to run every aspect of their lives.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhen Do Jehovah's Witnesses Believe Satan Was Booted from Heaven?
I thought they teach that it was around 1914 that Lucifer and his angels were finally kicked out of heaven, but Satan had been evil since before the first day of man.
Does this mean that the Father willingly had evil right by his side for an indefinite amount of years? And Satan, who was probably the chief angel of music worship, continued to worship God right up until 1914?
What do they really believe about this?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses Have a Teachable Spirit?
My experience has shown time and time again that they are not interested in listening to anyone or anything but the Watchtower. Is this always the case?
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWould Jehovah's Witnesses Use Violence Protect Their Families?
I've had very disturbing conversations with JWs who said that they would not use any violence to protect their families if, for instance, their family was being raped and murdered in front of them. Is this across the board for all Jehovah's Witnesses?
If so, would they even call the police to assist? Most assuredly they would use lethal violence to stop the attackers. Calling the police would be their express condonation of using lethal violence to stop the attackers on their behalf.
How would a REAL Jehovah's Witness handle this situation? I am doubting that this is the standard for all JWs.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhen do Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus will appear to judge the living and the dead?
I charge [you] therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom... 2 Tim 4:1
And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 2Th 2:8
that you keep [this] commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing... 1 Tim 6:14
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ... Tts 2:13
I know they teach Jesus will never be seen by anyone on this earth ever again, but in light of these verses, they must have had to change their beliefs.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhen do Jehovah's Witnesses believe violence and death entered the world?
Christians believe this happened after eating from the forbidden tree.
The reason I ask is that JWs believe that dinosaurs existed long before the creation of man, millions, billions, or trillions of years. They believe that most of the dinosaurs died before man was created. But the only way dinosaurs could die would be if violence and death were prevelant on the earth before man.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses believe dinosaurs existed before man?
I've received two very different answers in conversations with Jehovah's Witnesses. I know the Watchtower teaches that dinosaurs existed for an indefinite time before man was created, but is this what all JWs believe?
I won't get into their definition of an actual day, as I know they refer to them as "creation days", which could be billions and trillions of years to them. To me, as Genesis describes, an evening and a morning make up a literal day. All notwithstanding the fact that there is no gap between the creation of the land animals and man.
What do they really believe?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow important is the doctrine that Jesus is Michael the Angel to the Jehovah's Witnesses?
There are quite a few verses that deny this doctrine of theirs, and they will proclaim proudly that it is basically a meaningless doctrine. But if Jesus is not one of the angels named Michael, then who or what would He be?
Rom 8:38-39 - For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor ANGELS nor principalities nor powers...shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Heb 1:5-6 - For to which of the angels did [God] ever say "You are My Son, today I have begotten you"?...Let all the angels of God worship Him.
These are just a few verses, but really all that is necessary.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the criminal on the cross is one of the 144,000?
Luke 23:43 - Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise - Watchtower Version
I'm thinking they must believe he is one of the 144,000 and not of the lower class of JWs that stay on earth for the sole reason that Jesus said that the criminal would be with him in paradise. The Watchtower teaches that Jesus will not be on earth nor visible from earth, even in the utopian soceity. This means that the criminal could not be with Jesus unless he was one of the 144,000. Is this the case or do I have it all wrong?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoIs this quote from a Jehovah's Witness what they're taught to do?
"I know these beliefs are dear to your heart, but they are nothing to do with the true God
Don't be scared of doing some independent unbiased non-religious research into these things"
This quote was within a conversation I had with a JW. She was saying that in order to find out about the real God, I need to independently research ungodly peoples' theories.
Is this the mentality of the Watchtower? I know they turned to spirit mediums and spiritists to support some of their beliefs, but do they do this on a continuous basis? Do they search the atheistic world for their doctrine?
My response to that quote was that any non-religious is person IS biased in their theory that there is no God to begin with. I also said that we were created to worship God, so why would I change my faith based on the workings of anyone who is clearly not following God's will at all?
Is this just a misspeak of one of the members, or is this actually the thinking of the Watchtower?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses purposely lump all Jesus believers into "christendom"?
They always make sweeping references to, what they call, "christendom". Do they realize that there are major differences between Catholicism, Protestants, Baptists, Lutherans, and Born-Again Christians?
I'm curious, do they even know the difference between Baptists and Born-Again Christians? I know that when they preach, they only refer to "christendom" as if all of the beliefs contained therein are the same.
One famous false statement is that "the major doctrine of christendom is the trinity" and that "christendom believes the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the same person".
It is easy to criticize the Watchtower because they dictate the beliefs to all of the followers. Is it right to criticize Christians in one lump sum for things they don't actually believe? Or do they just not know anything other from what the Watchtower teaches them about "christendom".?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWho has more at stake, Jehovah's Witnesses or Born-Again Christians?
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that you will die and be resurrected to a utopian earth society, regardless of your beliefs or actions during life. The only exception is if you die during Armageddon.
Christians teach that once you die you are judged. If you confessed that Jesus is Lord and died and rose again and are born-again of the Holy Spirit, you enter heaven. If you did not do any of this, you enter hell.
If Jehovah's Witnesses are correct, then Christians have nothing to fear as they will just be resurrected and taught the way of the Watchtower. If Christians are correct, then Jehovah's Witnesses face hell and have no recourse.
Which is worse?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhat is the Jehovah's Witnesses definition of the Greek word, theōreō?
According to Strong, this is the definition:
1) to be a spectator, look at, behold
a) to view attentively, take a view of, survey
1) to view mentally, consider
2) to see
a) to perceive with the eyes, to enjoy the presence of one
b) to discern, descry
c) to ascertain, find out by seeing
The root word is theaomai, which means:
1) to behold, look upon, view attentively, contemplate (often used of public shows)
a) of important persons that are looked on with admiration
2) to view, take a view of
a) in the sense of visiting, meeting with a person
3) to learn by looking, to see with the eyes, to perceive
Is this a figurative Greek word?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhen were Jehovah's Witnesses made aware of Beth Sarim?
I ask this because their founder, Joey Rutherford, had a mansion built that was to be the home of some of the Biblical greats. Well, they never came back and proved Joe Rutherford wrong.
Are Jehovah's Witnesses taught this major fallacy or do they find out from sources like Yahoo Answers or other non-approved Watchtower literature?
Also, was this new light that they sold the property or did Rutherford just admit that, as the president and anointed co-ruler with Christ, that he made a false prediction?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy do Jehovah's Witnesses on YA gang report questions they don't like?
I had a long discussion with a few Magaziners regarding this. They all claim that no Jehovah's Witness reports any questions or answers. They also claimed that every report is subject to a review before it is deleted. Which is obviously not the case, especially when the terms and conditions of reporting is definied right on this website as, "If one or more reliable users report a question or answer, the it will be deleted". That is all.
Here are some emails retrieved from a Jehovah's Witness:
Subject: please could you report XXXX
Message:or whatever he's calling himself now!
Subject: Re: Please would you report "XXXX"
Message: Thank you. I will be composing a list of links to his insults and tirades against me shortly and will send it with a letter of complaint to the YA team. I want this sorted!
Here is an image of a few JWs ganging up to get a question or answer deleted:
http://imageshack.us/f/62/reportedo.jpg/
My question is, why do they do this so often? It seems that whenever they are proved wrong, they conspire together to get that question or answer deleted. Any thoughts?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoAre Jehovah's Witnesses allowed to associate with the disfellowshipped?
The reason I ask is because all JWs state that they can associate with anyone they want. A friend of mine pointed out a key commandment in the Watchtower Magazine from September 2010 which seems to negate this.
"Association with disfellowshipped or disassociated relatives is not allowed. p. 116, Watchtower September 2010"
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses believe we will judge Jesus?
1 Cor 6:3 - Do you not know that we shall judge angels? (Watchtower Version)
They teach that Jesus is one of the angels.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow do Jehovah's Witness reconcile John 8:51 with what the Magazine teaches?
The Magazine teaches that once you are dead you know nothing nor remember anything. Upon death, you don't know you're dead.
John 8:51 says this: "Most truly I say to YOU, If anyone observes my word, he will never see death at all.” (Watchtower Version)
The Greek word for "see" is theōreō. This word is only used when referring to a physical state of seeing. It actually means to be a spectator - watching from a distance. A more chilling definition is, "to find out by seeing".
Why would Jesus tell us that we would never see death if, according to the Watchtower, no one ever could ever see death, even those who obey Jesus' word?
Do they believe that those that die are aware that they are dead? Or is it that when we die we are all aware of the death and that the death Jesus speaks of is the second death in hell like the Bible really teaches? If we obey Jesus' word, we will not see that second death.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo Jehovah's Witnesses believe God is omnipotent with the exception of omnipresence?
Do they just believe that God does not possess the power of omnipresence or does He just choose not to use it?
I ask because almost every JW I have spoken with said that God cannot be omnipresent. This baffled me because if God is omnipotent, then He has all power, including the power to be everywhere and anywhere He wanted to be all at the same time.
