Is it ok to give guys my phone number?
I am in a committed relationship and have been for three years and we have plans to get married in the next few years, but my fiance is back in my home state. I'm in college and meeting a lot of new people, just looking for friends, and I was wondering what your opinions were on letting guys have my number. I don't want to be conceited and automatically assume they want it because they are interested in me because there are a lot more platonic opposite-sex friendships here. They might just be interested in being friends and wanting to text me to tell me about parties and things like that.
So is it ok to give it to them and just cut them off if it seems like they're interested in a relationship? Or should I not be giving it out to any guys at all?
3 AnswersSingles & Dating10 years agoLovebird keeps breaking blood feathers?
I have a fischers lovebird named Cookie who has only one tailfeather. He's about a year and a half old and I expected a regular molt, but as he lost tail feathers, the new blood feathers kept getting broken from falling or fights with the peachface he shares his cage with. For months now he has been getting in new blood feathers only for them to break and bleed and pretty soon he won't even have ONE feather on his butt! What's going on and how can I help his tail feathers grow back?
4 AnswersBirds10 years agoDoes henna dye make your hair prone to tangles?
I have been thinking about dyeing my hair with natural henna dye (not black), but someone told me that it made their hair a huge knotted mess after a day at the beach and that it makes the hair really tangle-prone and "grabby". Is this true?
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoScared Second Lovebird?
I just got a second lovebird from a family that could no longer keep it because my own lovie was very lonely while I was out. My first lovie is so excited that there is a new friend and is acting like a little kid, hoppin over to the second in his cage and trying to give him a kiss, but the new little guy is very nervous and scared opens his beak back in a seemingly aggressive way. Poor Cookie (the first) is just sooo excited to have a new friend that he doesn't seem to know when to give Momo some space to get used to his new home. How can I ease this transition for Momo and keep these two from fighting?
2 AnswersBirds1 decade agoWedding with a different last name than my parents?
I am a bit new to wedding etiquette, so I am a bit unsure as to how to go about this. I am getting married and I know that on invites, announcements, signs, etc, they usually put the last names of the bride and groom to identify the wedding, i.e. the Smith-Brown wedding. The catch here is that my last name is different from my entire family's because my mother remarried and took on a new name, so how would that work?
4 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoWhat is the meaning of these lyrics by Bo Burnham?
"Debra Messing's fingers in a holy place/ Hail Mary full of grace"
This line is from Catholic Rant by Bo Burnham. Could someone explain the meaning of this to me? I'm really not familiar with this actress.
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agoWhy does the Catholic prayer say "the FAITHFULLY departed"?
I go to a Catholic school and every so often an alumnus dies and the prayer is said over the announcements "may his/her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace" and I've been wondering why they don't just say "departed." As a non-Catholic looking in, it translates in my mind into "may all the Catholic souls rest in peace". I sounds (to an outsider) like they don't really care much for the souls of everyone else who has passed on or that they're just deliberately excluding people. I mean no one any offense, so please don't interpret my question that way.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWearing the hijab around other women?
I'd like to ask more moderate and/or liberal Muslims this: Is it permitted for Muslim women to remove their hijab if they are only in the presence of other women and if so, does that depend on whether the women are all Muslim or not?
Thank you!

My husband is a sensitive and when he is in a specific place, he sees colors, accompanied by a very general feeling of good bad or indifferent. I have read a lot about auras on people, but never places. Does anyone know what this is called, that the different colors mean, and/or where I can read and learn more about this (link please)?

2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAll faiths: How do you "get into" you faith?
I have never been one that got really involved in a particular faith or went to a house of worship for the purpose of growing faith, and yet so many people now are so involved in their faith, with specific things they do or don't do, special days or activities they observe and take part in, etc. They are also very open about their faith and just very "into it", for lack of a better term. I have never once really gotten into any worship service or gotten anything out of it, and some things that they did, whether I was in a synagogue or a church or anywhere else, seemed a little silly, mostly in that I found them a bit embarassing to do in public. My question is, how do you explain people's devotion to a faith and being so active in it, as well as how one becomes active in a faith?
I have no interest in Christianity, so refrain from telling me to crack open a Bible or read a verse or "accept Jesus into your heart" because you are wasting time
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan you find out your numerical score on an AP test?
I got all 5's on my 3 AP tests this year and I wanted to know the numerical scores, i.e. if they were low 5's close to the borderline or if they were near the perfect score. Any way I can find out?

5 AnswersHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoGetting a companion for my lovebird?
I have a hand tamed lovebird who is almost a year old and is very sweet, but lately has become very naughty. He always seems very frustrated and lonely and I have been considering getting him a friend, but I don't know if a. that will fix the problem and b. how exactly you go about finding a lovebird friend that you know your current bird will get along with.
3 AnswersBirds1 decade agoAngsty Lovebird Puberty?
I have a hand tamed love bird that is almost a year old that i've had since he was weaned. Recently, he's been very agitated, getting into things, randomly biting, randomly flying off and squaking sometimes when I try to pick him up. Part of it seems like him acting like a bad little kid that wants attention, but he seems almost frustrated, and I don't know what to do. We put him back in his cage when he starts getting horsey to calm him down, but he comes back just as hyper and nosy and agitated as ever. What's going on? what can I do to fix this? He is a very sweet bird when it's just him and me snuggling and hanging out, but now he's getting horsey with me and my family, which isn't good. Help?
1 AnswerBirds1 decade agoFall wedding venues in florida?
My fiance and I want to keep our wedding date the same as that of our anniversary, which means a wedding in October in Central Florida. I really want to take advantage of the autumn theme and thus need a venue for the ceremony, preferably outdoors, that would have even a bit of fall foliage or would be rustic or antique-y enough to pull off fall decor. Help?
1 AnswerWeddings1 decade agoDefecting from the Catholic Church?
I have chosen to defect from the Catholic Church with my letter to the Bishop signed and ready to go. However, I will be a senior at a Catholic high school. My family is not practicing Catholic and so we have to pay the non- Catholic rate at my school. However, if in the next year my parents decide to start showing up to mass to recieve the practicing rate, will my defection cause any problems? Or, does a Catholic school typically only care if the family is going/writing the check?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: If Jesus did not die, would it lessen your faith?
Let's just say that, through whatever means or scenario, it came to light with 100% assurance that Jesus did everything the Bible says he did and said everything it says he did, but he did not die on the cross. Would it alter or lessen your faith in God or in your religion as a whole?
This is not a forum for debate on the issue or anyone's opinion on what happened or what the Bible says. This is a hypothetical question, so please answer it appropriately.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is "feeling it"?
I know the main idea of "feeling it" or "feeling the holy spirit" or whatever, but I don't understand how it feels, how you would recognize it, etc. I really don't understand it in that capacity but I know I've had to have felt God before.
No rude comments, please.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy does Church and Christianity freak me out?
Before I talk, I'm gonna say this: Don't try to convert me to anything, tell me to read the bible, etc. That is not what I am asking for and your post will be reported or ignored, so if that is your intention, save your breath.
I have made my peace with Jesus. I have worked out what Jesus means to me and I am set in that. I am also fine with and very accepting of world religions, a la hinduism, islam, wicca, shintoism, etc. I'd go to their services just for the hell of it and think it was cool any day. Except Christianity. I go to a Christian school and we have church once or twice a month, and I can't help but feel weird: I feel like I don't belong there. I have told myself again and again to take what I want from the experience and ignore what I don't believe in, but everything seems so....hokey. I don't understand why they are all so comfortable getting together and praying. Praying in public? How embarrassing! All the rituals and tradition and things... I get incredibly weirded out when people talk about their Christian faith. My friend the other day told me about how she really "feels it" after reconciliation ("filled with the holy spirit", that is) and I think it sounds so weird and hokey that it makes me want to go hang out with my friends who are atheists. I guess the point of all this is I have a particular loathing of Christian doctrine and tradition and faith in general that is putting a wall up between people close to me and I hate it, but all I want to do when I hear people talk about it is go somewhere else. Can you help me figure out what this is and how I can get over it?
