  • What is a good ssh Client for Mac?

I'm looking for a ssh client for Mac; something similar to putty would be nice. It has to be able to:

    1. Connect through an http proxy

    2. Dynamically forward ports

And yes, I know that ssh is built in. As far as I know, I'm trying to use it on a computer on which the terminal has been disabled.

It would also be nice if it were stand-alone (i.e. no installation).

  • Monitor won't work with DVI cable.?

    I have:

22" X2Gen LCD monitor with VGA and DVI input

NVIDIA Geforce 6200 PCI Video Card with VGA and DVI output

    DVI-VGA adapter

My display shows up fine while using the DVI-VGA adapter and a VGA cable to go from the DVI out of the video card to the VGA in of the monitor. However, when I try to use a DVI cable from the DVI out of the video card to the DVI in of the monitor, I get "No Cable".

I'm also getting nothing when going from VGA out of the video card and VGA in to the monitor (which I was able to do before).

  • Cable modem problem.?

I have a problem with my cable modem (Arris TM502G). About every ten to fifteen minutes, I lose my internet connection. I still have a link between the modem and PC, but I can't access the internet, run online programs, etc. If I unplug and plug back in the ethernet cable or power-cycle the modem, everything is back to normal for another 15 minutes until it fails again.

It started doing this fairly recently, and had been working fine for several weeks before. Any suggestions?

  • Which graphics card is better?

In my search for a new video card to replace the crappy integrated one that came with my CPU, I've narrowed my search to two possibilities:

    http://computers.pricegrabber.com/video-cards/m/42...

    http://computers.pricegrabber.com/video-cards/m/37...

It should seem that the only difference is the manufacturer. However, I've never upgraded a video card before and I'd like to know the difference between the two.

Also, my computer is a Dell Dimension Desktop 2400. Would these cards be supported?

  • Best Linux Distribution for...?

I have an old Gateway Solo 2500 laptop with the following specs:

    -333MHz Intel CPU

    -160 MB RAM

    -4 GB HDD

-NeoMagic NM2160 High Performance Multimedia Flat Panel/CRT GUI Accelerator with 2 MB integrated RAM

    -10/100 Base LAN PC Card

    -WinXP Home SP2

I want a fairly full-featured Linux distro to replace XP; something that will run comfortably and smoothly but still have a nice GUI and a decent number of programs. Any suggestions?

  • Ubuntu/XP Dual Boot Editing?

    I have the following setup:

Windows XP Home on the first partition of the master hard drive

Ubuntu Linux on the first partition of the slave hard drive

When I boot, Grub gives me a menu with three Ubuntu choices and XP. How would I manually edit the menu to change the order of the options and the timeout? I'm assuming that Grub must be on the XP hard drive since it's the master.

  • Batch file to delete directories that begin with the same string.?

I want to create a batch file that deletes all directories that start with a certain folder path within another directory. Basically, I have a folder containing the following folders:

    \123456789abc\

    \123456789bcd\

    \123456789cde\

    \123456789def\

    et cetera

    \555555a\

    \44456ab\

I want the batch file to delete all folders within the directory that begin with \123456789 but not any other folders.

  • Divine Inspiration?

If "God" inspired the writers of the Bible to write what they did, wasn't he violating (temporarily) their free will by not allowing them to write about another subject (like cheese)?

  • Format Datel Max Memory 64MB mem card for PS2?

I have a third-party Datel Max Memory 64MB memory card for my PS2 full of corrupted data. It snaps apart quite easily for access to the circuit board. I read somewhere that a memory card can be formatted using a toothpick or a refrigerator magnet. Is there a way to format it without buying anything?

  • Two memory cards in PS2. One removed while loading; other has corrupted files. Recovery of files possible?

    Game - Madden NFL 2007

Slot 1 - Datel Max Memory 64MB (corrupted)

Slot 2 - SCEA 8MB (removed during loading)

The first time I checked in the browser, it reported that all the files in the slot 1 card were corrupted. The next time I checked, it reported that the slot 1 card has "No Data" and 0kb of space. The slot 2 card is fine. Is there any way to recover the files, or if not, format the card?
