  • Why do guys get beer bellies?

Is it really from beer? Why is it so hard and not squishy like other fat?

Have you ever seen a woman with a beer belly?

  • Can I donate blood for a specific person to use?

My father is having open heart surgery next week and my brother and I wondered if we could donate blood to be used during his surgery. My father and I have the same blood type, and my brother is O negative.

The catch to all this is that I live in Connecticut, my brother lives in Vermont and our father's surgery is going to be in Philadelphia.

Maybe it seems silly to go through the trouble, but I figured if it could be done, it would be better for him to have a relative's blood, rather than a stranger's.

  • What exercises can I do to tone my butt and upper thighs?

I'm naturally thin but I have noticed lately that my butt and upper thighs are kind of scary. I actually have cellulite there, which is really frustrating. I'm not someone who goes to the gym to work out, so simple exercises I can do around the house would be nice. I do try to walk about 3 miles each day, and I eat a healthy diet.

  • Why are political discussions so emotionally charged?

Why do people fling words like 'liberal' or 'republican' around like they are insults? It seems like most people can't discuss politics without getting their panties in a twist. Can't we just 'agree to disagree' sometimes?

  • Whole 'nother?

All my life I've heard and used the expression "that's a whole 'nother story". An example is when you're talking about something and then you don't feel like getting into the details, you say "But that's a whole 'nother story."

Only when it comes time to actually write that phrase does it strike me that "nother" isn't a word in itself (is it?)

Have I just been hearing the expression wrong all this time? What is the correct expression? I can't be the only one who has heard or used this.

    Thanks!

  • Is it ok to take birth control and allergy meds at the same time?

I just wondered if there might be some sort of chemical reaction that would lessen the effects of either the birth control or the allergy meds if I take them together.
