Why do we teach kids socialism and then spend the rest of our lives chipping away at that ideal?
In kindergarten, we teach our children that "sharing is caring" and everyone is equal. The entire rest of our lives, we are taught to make money, that competition is good, and that we shouldn't share our money (eg. through taxes). Why the discrepancy?

Where did these opinions originate, and why are people today more attracted to them than to the opinions of their predecessors? Basically, where did they get the ideas from?

11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoAtheists: if science can evolve, why can't religion?
I've seen a lot of users on this site attack Christianity by quoting verses from the Old Testament that many churches now don't follow. However, science has its own share of writings (the plum pudding model of the atom, Lamarckian evolution, the geocentric solar system, etc.) that have later been disproven. Do these theories mean that science is invalid? If not, why do you judge religions by texts thousands of years old? Can they not change?
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoProof evolution doesn't exist?
If Darwin was right and survival of the fittest really exists, then how come obesity levels are at record highs?
