  • Do you think we will ever have an independent or 3rd party candidate with a legitimate chance of winning?

Am I the only one disappointed with our choices for president in this election? Although there are a few issues on which I may agree with one or the other, for the most part I think their "plans" are vague and the specifics they do share lack feasibility, logic or both. I am tired of only having two choices for president both of which simply represent their respective parties. Any thoughts?

  • Cat spaying question...?

I have a stray cat that showed up at my house and has decided to stay. I have done what I can to try to find its owner with no luck. I also can't find anyone to take it, so, I am going to take it in. I am calling the vet tomorrow to get an appt. have her checked out, spayed, etc... My question is- She appears to be a very young cat. How do I know if she is old enough to be spayed? I don't know if she has ever been in heat- for all I know she could be spayed- or pregnant!?! So, is there any way to tell if she is old enough or already spayed or pregnant. Sorry if these questions are dumb, but I know zero about cats as I have never owned one in my life. I know the vet will be able to tell me but I'd prefer to at least have some idea about what I'm talking about when I call. Thanks for any info!

  • Should I bail out on a girl's night out that turned into a "couples" event?

About three weeks ago, my mom asked myself and my brother's girlfriend to go to the casino (my brothers girlfriend is turning 21). I was excited to have a girls night, since we're all close and have fun together. Tonight, I found out my dad and my brother are going. I know they're family but I don't want to be the odd one out. Plus, I'm still getting over a recent break-up of a 7 plus year relationship. I don't really want to be reminded of that by being surrounded by couples. Am I being selfish or whiny? Should I bail or should I go and just try not to think about that?

  • Should I move on or wait?

2 mos ago my bf and I broke up. We had been together for 7+ yrs and have a 6 yo daughter. Basically, I want to get married at some pt & he doesn't know if he ever does. He initiated the break up saying he thought I deserved to get married, have more children, etc.. & he didn't know if he could ever give that to me. He claims he still loves me & I have no reason to believe otherwise. He's always been very honest- even w/things I didn't want to hear.

He sees our daughter on a reg basis but he also asks me to join them or visits our home. He told me that he doesn't think he made the right decision but thinks it is a bad idea to jump right back in this soon because we may just be missing each other.

I don't think I can last much longer just waiting. I want to be w/him, but if not I need to move on so I can feel at peace. When I say move on, I don't mean date other people. I just mean close my mind to the idea of us getting together so I can get over the break up. Any advice?

  • How can I help my child? Her father and I are splitting up.?

I have been with my boyfriend for 8 years. We have a 6 year old daughter. Although I don't want to split up, he does. We still care about each other and love our daughter sooo much. We we're just very young when we got together and I guess we want different things. We have agreed to work together and always put her first and remain friends. I would just like advice on how to handle this in the best way possible. Also if anyone who has experienced this from a child's perspective and had an experience that is as good as can be under the circumstances, what did your parents do that really helped? Thanks for any advice.
