Is there any place, possible a non profit that will help familys with finanaces. Setting up a budget plan and paying down debt. Also helping with tax questions...Everything I find is with credit card debt and I dont have any. I am not in debt more than mortgage and car loan. I do make aliving not much but enough. There is a store front located less than 1/2 mile from my house that would be ideal for a coin operated laundry mat. If I map the area out there is only 2 other mats in the 5 square miles. This place is located in an area where the our at least 5 large apartment complexes and several hundred homes. If anyone could give me ideas on how to start getting this rolling please let me know. I am thinking of a career change and was wondering what the average chef makes. I have not been able to find anything good to reference. My problem would be the transition from my curretn job to being a chef. I am think about attending cordon blue cooking school in the next year. Any help or ideas would be great. Is there anything that I could do proir to culinary school to help myself out. Any books or learning tools?

I am under the impression that people are permitted to give gifts, in the form of cash, up to a certain amount and write it off there taxes. Is it illegal to ask someone you dont know to give you a cash gift and have them write it off? This is something I was question after recently purchasing a house.
