I would like to compare the activity of two or more distinct web communities and to compile a cross-community rank of the regulars in order to reward them, and sincerely I have hard times working out the list.

The problem is that the communities have different sizes, different regulars and participation level but they all revolve around the same niche/subject.

Any idea how could I compile this ranking list?

Take this situation: a quite popular blog which requires valid email address for commenting. Owner wants to use these email addresses for sending periodical email newsletters to the commenters (I would be the coder who creates the back end to do this). I'm a bit concerned, because the commenters left those addresses with one particular purpose and they were never told that it will be used for newsletters. Is this ethical?

Additionally, they would be able to opt out from this system but only after receiving the first newsletter.

There's a song. English song and it used to be in the top a while ago. The scene is, there's a gang who robs a store, they search for some kind of diamond or something. One girl, she imitates that she's hit by a car, the store owner focuses his attention on the accident which gives the rest of the band the opportunity to rob the store. When the ambulance comes, the girl hops on a motorcycle and bye-bye but till then the robbery is done, they got the diamond. A red diamond-like, *ahem*, stone, if I'm not mistaken.

The refrain starts with something like:

I'm a web-developer currently with a big surplus of free time and was thinking about to develop a new service. I'm developing free services usually, I have only one service which is payed but that's due to its high bandwidth usage.

So, to the point, would you help me with some tips of what service to create, or what service do you think the internet should have and there isn't or only a few? :) I was thinking of developing again a free service, so if possible it should not use terrabytes of bandwidth, that's the only criteria. Complexity is not a problem, nor the platform or invested time.

I was wondering how do the construction firms fix these houses on a concrete foundation.

I guess with some sort of bolts, but does anybody know what type and dimension of bolts?
