1 AnswerLanguages1 decade agoHow can I write a linear equation from data?
Okay, so here's the problem,
"At sea level, the speed of sound in air is linearly related to the air temperature. If it is 35 degrees Celsius, the sound will travel at a rate of 352 meters per second. If it is 15 degrees, sound will travel at a rate of 340 meters per second.
Write a linear equation that models speed of sound (s), in terms of air temperature (T)."
My math teacher never explained this to me when I left town with my family. How do I set up a linear equation with this data?

1 AnswerMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhat form of writing do I use when writing a letter in Japanese?
I'm writing letters (not typing) to a japanese pen pal. Since I'm uncertain whether she can read in English, I have decided to learn Japanese. However, I'm still unclear on whether to use katakana or hiragana when writing letters. Is hiragana just for typing, or is it the other way around, or can the maybe be used interchangeably? I'm just a beginner so please, "yoroshku onehgaishimus". :)

3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoI want to circumnavigate the globe. What Kind of boat should I use, where do I get the money, etc.?
I definitely want to sail the whole way by sailboat. (well, except for emergency situations where I need a motor.) I was wondering exactly what type of long-distance sailboat I should use and what I should bring in case of an abandon ship situation. (I plan on beating Abby Sunderland's record if possible :P) I've tried calculating the approximate price of the trip. It's probably a lot less than I need, but it's still pricey. I am determined to make the trip though. Please give me your best advice on the subject. Thanks ^-^
9 AnswersBoats & Boating1 decade agoWhat does this quotation from Hamlet mean to you?
This question was not meant to educate me, rather, to view the opinion of the public and see if anyone can think deep enough to find the answer for themselves. Try being illogical and opinionated, but not too much so. I don't want anyone telling me that it means "tacos".
So please. What does this well-known quote mean to you?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
To be or not to be– that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep
No more – and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep
To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause. There's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
Th’ oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of disprized love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office, and the spurns
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscovered country from whose bourn
No traveler returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pitch and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.—Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
Be all my sins remembered.
3 AnswersQuotations1 decade agoDoes anyone know of any books or websites in which I can learn about navigation?
I've always wanted to circumnavigate the world. Ah, well, I'll save that story for another question. But, I do know how to sail.
1 AnswerOther - Education1 decade agoWhat should the character do in this part of a story I'm writing?
I'm writing a book with a juvenile delinquent theme. And at a point they hitch-hike cross country to escape the law. What crime should they have committed? I don't want it to have been murder, for fear of it sounding too much like The Outsiders, but it has to have been a pretty serious crime to have forced them to move to the other end of the country.
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoRepresentation in Axis Powers Hetalia?
I was wasting time on the internet looking up stuff about anime and I came across a web page that said America's weird curl thing represented Nantucket. If so, what is New York, and what do the curls represent on the other countries?
3 AnswersComics & Animation1 decade agoIf you read The Outsiders, what did you learn, if anything?
I noticed that too many of my peers answers were conformist. (what they thought was right, but didn't necessarily learn from the book) I thought it was a wonderful story that shouldn't be subject to criticism from kids my age. What is your opinion?
