How would I figure out the depreciation?
I am doing a project for an upper division accounting class. Essentially we have to make up a business and do all the forecasting and research for our company. I chose to do a bakery, and so I have equipment such as ovens, refridgerator, mixers etc. How would I figure out the salvage value and the useful life so I can make a straight line depreciation schedule?
1 AnswerOther - Taxes1 decade agoFinance homework question...stuck!?
The New York Times reported on April 14, 2009 that the cost of attending Boston University (BU) is $53,110 per year. The cost of attending college increases by 6% annually. If parents want their child to attend BU in exactly 19 years and they expect their child to graduate from BU in 4 years (i.e. they would need to save enough to pay for 4 years of tuition), and they want to save the same amount in today's dollars every year starting next year, how much in today's dollars do they need to save per year? Assume that this family can earn a 5% nominal return per year on their college savings and college cost inflation is 6% per year. Also assume that they make the last deposit into the college savings plan one year before their child starts attending BU. The cost of attendance for the year is paid at the beginning of each year while enrolled.

2 AnswersCorporations1 decade agoCan I dye my hair two days in a row with semi-permanent color?
I dyed my hair today, using the Natural Instincts brand (semi-permanent). Its been a long time since I have used a box to dye my hair, and I missed a few places which are going to be noticeable. My natural haircolor is a dirty blonde color, and the color I went to is a light auburn.
I bought a new box, but I am afraid of what will happen if I dye it less than 24 hours later.
I am going on vacation tomorrow, so its not something which can really wait.
Does anyone know if this will be bad for my hair? I can't seem to find anything on the box or instructions about how long I should wait to color my hair again.
Thanks!
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoI have a dental question?
For as long as I can remember, occasionally I get this weird feeling in one of my bottom teeth, or maybe more, I can't tell. Its kind of painful, I don't really know how to describe the pain. Usually it will just last for a day.
I should also add, that I grind my teeth really bad when I am stressed. I wear a mouth guard my dentist made for me during the night to stop this, but I have been under a little bit of stress the past two days. I'm not sure if that would be related.
The past two days straight I have experienced this feeling, and it is worse than I ever remember. Its not excruciating or anything, its very distracting though. I don't think there is decay or anything like that, as I have seen the same dentist every 6 months since I was very little.
If I push on my tooth, it relieves it, or if I drink something warm like coffee it seems to help. I'm wondering if it is perhaps an issue with a nerve? I'm not really sure how to explain to my dentist how this feels, or even what tooth it is. I have asked about it before, but I was not experiencing the pain at the time, and so obviously it would be hard for them to figure it out.
Is there anything that can be done?
1 AnswerDental1 decade agoHas anyone else experienced this?
If I pop the left side of my jaw (something that happens very easliy) I feel as though there is fluid draining out of my ear. This has gone on for quite a while, I thought it would go away but it hasn't. I'm going to call my doctor or my dentist tomorrow.
I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with this?
5 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoNeed Ideas for my drawing assignment.?
So I have to keep a journal for my introduction to drawing class.
We have to define the terms as creatively as possible.
The first one we have received is line quality.
I am kind of stuck on how to represent this in my journal. I want to do a pretty in depth interpretation.
I am thinking about going around town and taking pictures of different places (man-made and natural) and maybe sketching the basic lines next to the photo?
If anyone has any good ideas on this one, that would be helpful.
Thanks!
2 AnswersDrawing & Illustration1 decade agoCat Bladder Infection?
My family and I have had our cat for over 10 years. Around two weeks ago she came home visibly in pain, and the next day we took her to the vet. The vet told us she had an enlarged bladder, and they did a urinalysis that came back as a bladder infection, which was not kidney failure, nor did it move into her kidneys.
He prescribed antibiotics and valium (because she was in a fair amount of pain) She began urinating on the couches and my sisters bed and stopped using the litter box. This is probably due to the amount of pain and being sedated, so she would just urinate wherever she was laying.
We took her back to the vet a week ago to determine why she hasn't been improving. They now have her on steroids, because her bladder has not gone back to normal and it still swollen. The urinalysis also came back worse. Since being on the steroids she seems to be doing a little better, she likes to go outside and is acting more like her normal self. She will not use the litter box though, and will only pee on the couches. I am aware that because she smells herself on the couches thats where she will continue to go. But we had to keep her in a separate room for a few days with food and water and a nice bed while she was sedated with her own new litter box to monitor her (we have multiple cats) and she still would not use it.
I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with a cat. Basically if these steroids don't work, she will have to be put down, because we don't want her to suffer, and we cannot afford to keep treating her.
I tried posting this question yesterday, and i received a bunch of responses accusing me of giving up on my cat. This is not the case at all. There really is no option to give her to some place that could help her out, because in my area the humane society is not accepting anymore pets, and funding for virtually all help has been stopped. (I am very well informed on what is available because I've had to deal with strays before and get them help)
I'm also not looking for advice on litter box training, I'm well aware on how to do that. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience so I can have an idea on what to expect. Like I said, the last time i posted this I received very negative responses.
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoI have very painful blisters on my feet, any ideas??
So between my 4th and 5th toes, on both feet, I have had a constant blister. The blister is actually on my 4th toe, but it is caused by the little toe. I am assuming that it is from friction and the way my feet distribute pressure.
Because of my job, I am ALWAYS on my feet. I have tried buying better shoes (but they wear out quickly because of how much I'm on my feet) I have also tried bandaids to reduce friction, I wear cotton socks. Nothing seems to help at all!
It is becoming very painful all the time now, where it would just happen after work. I plan on making an appointment to see the doctor, I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows of anything I could do. Thanks!
