  • Border security.....except its for Mexico's southern border and paid for by the American tax payer.?

Follow the link (not the best of sources sometimes) and then follow the supplied link in the story to the U.S. govt. web page. Tell me what you think of this.

  • What are the positive contributions made to the USA by illegal immigrants?

Cheap labor isn't a positive for either party involved. There is absolutely no assimilation or effort to improve this country by these people. They love to take advantage of the oppurtunity that this country offers, but give nothing in return.

  • Can you believe this??

The following is part of an article I thought exemplifies what is wrong with this Presidency. It shows the blatant benefits of being a "friend" of this president. Can anyone say Scooter?? The full article link is below.

"At a town-hall style meeting, Bush also rebuffed a question about whether he would consider pardoning two Border Patrol agents in prison for the cover-up of the shooting of a drug trafficker in Texas.

"No, I won't make you that promise," Bush told a woman who asked about a possible pardon. Many Republicans in Congress have said the men should not have been convicted and have criticized the federal U.S. attorney for even prosecuting the agents.

"I know it's an emotional issue but people need to look at the facts. These men were convicted by a jury of their peers after listening to the facts" as presented by U.S. Attorney Johnny Sutton, said Bush. Bush called Sutton a friend."

  • How about everyone just take time to grieve and pay respect for Benoit??

Leave the speculation and accusations till later. There is still family that were left behind and grieving as well as many, many fans. The truth will be known all to soon, so in the mean time just be respectful.

  • Has anyone considered the impact 20 million people will have 15 years down the road...?

20 million plus new voters will probably be a big boon to those that have socialist tendencies. These people are coming from places where socialism is alive and well and has failed horribly. These people lived in horrid conditions and risked their lives to escape their failed countries. Even with their experience with socialism do you have any doubt they will vote in the way of wealth redistribution? You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

  • The elected officials are now openly going against the will of the people.....?

Both parties as well as this President has betrayed the citizens of this country. They no longer hide their contempt for the citizens and will push this amnesty bill through. "Take your medicine you ignorant peasants, we know whats best for you" is what they are telling us. Why can't the voters work to get new people into these positions? This country is capable of producing better representatives than the tired, old, bought-off hacks that put us against each other as they pull their slight of hand. Piss on these bastards and shame on us. (More like a rant than a question, but gives others a chance to chime in)

  • When will the American voter "get smart"??

and figure out that there is absolutely no difference between the Republican and Democrat parties? They play the American public like a violin, spouting lies and venom without ever really wanting real change. Where is the party that represents the people?

  • Why do people continue to think the Coast Guard does not deploy to the Middle East.?

The Coast Guard has multiple units in the region including Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait. The CGC Midgett recently returned from a patrol and was the first U.S. warship to moor in Yemen since the U.S.S. Cole bombing. There are multiple patrol boats as well as law enforcement teams that handle the boardings of ships in and out of the region.

  • Why does YAHOO Answers....?

keep deleting questions that state opposition to illegal immigration? They have been called out time and time again on their liberal bias towards illegals, and unashamedly keep censoring people who disagree with them. Is this a forum for all ideas, or just the ones Yahoo agrees with? Burning American flags, waving Mexican ones, defaming our President, and breaking laws are conveniently excused by Yahoo with Freedom of Speech. I guess that doesn't extend to anyone who disagrees with Yahoo. I guess we see the type of forum they want here.

  • Both liberals and conservatives have good ideas for the country...?

Why is it that so many posters on here refuse to research what they posts as facts. Is it a fear that you will find that your truth doesn't match the fact. The sharing of iideas and nformation works so much better if the facts are on the table don't you think?

  • Why hasn't this country been attacked since 9/11?

I think this is a good question to ask ourselves as I read more and more complaint in the ways Bush has accomplished this. I do not believe for a minute that we will not be hit again, I just thought it would have come sooner. What would you do differently? How would you do this without stepping on what you would describe as individual rights?

  • Why is it that military deaths meant so little to the Dems?

during the Clinton years? I read post all day where Bush is demonized for military deaths, but Clinton is left untouched for the deaths during his tenure and his consequent inactions. Please leave the talking points answers (unjust war, lies,etc...) out of it and explain to me why Dems or liberals suddenly started caring. This is a hard question to ask without generalizing, as I'm sure that not all Dems and libs feel this way, just going with the majority.

  • Why do the Democrats?

give a pass for all the crimes and attrocities that have occured while the Clinton's were in office, but want to call Bush out on everything. And vice versa. Republicans forget what they put Clinton through, but expect different treatment for Bush. I think they all work together just to keep the public from focusing on the changes we need to make to better serve and protect this country.

p.s. I could have just as easily started with Republican on the title. I am conservative by nature, only voted Republican once, and weep everytime I see the sorry leadership we have in this country.

  • Why do the illegal/and or immigrant community....?

put so much time and effort into marches and protests here in the U.S.A., and not in Mexico where there are sooooo many resources to improve their economy? Why not change your country? Is it because everything is already set up here? I know its easier, but shouldn't some of that Latino pride I keep seeing posted here be put where it could do some good? No malice or anger here, just a question. Please, none of the racist remarks from either side of the debate. It doesn't solve or do anything positive. I posted this TWO hours ago and did not receive ONE answer.

  • Without all the lib/con bashing give some realistic answers to our immigration issues!?

No racial terms, no partisan bickering, just some good ideas to work together and solve an issue that affects all of us.
