  • Bunnies in my yard, doomed unless...?

Some momma bunny thought it would be a great idea to make a nest in my front yard. However, this spot is right next to a sidewalk. A sidewalk that is frequently occupied by neighbors walking dogs. And we have stray cats from the hillbillies down the street. And property taxes are out of control. Long story short, this is a disastrous place for a nest. She hasn't had the babies yet, so my day has been spent trying to find a way to keep her from selecting this death trap of a spot as her spawning grounds. Any advice?

Seriously, I understand that her odds of seeing her babies grow to tot-hood are slim... But if the baby bunnies are doomed to a horrific death, I don't want to be the one picking up bunny carcasses. I'm an animal lover, so that would surely ruin my week.

  • Gold teeth - Proper terminology?

My fiance and I got into a debate that I was hoping the Yahoo Answer community could help me with: While purchasing items for a costume for a halloween party she was kind enough to buy me some fake grills... The gold teeth that rappers are often seen wearing.

She told me that she bought me a grill. Is the proper term I bought you A GRILL, or I bought you SOME GRILLS? I believe it should be "I bought you some grills," while she maintains "I bought you a grill" works fine.

  • Somalia - Civilian casualties?

I am trying to find information on civilian casualties in Somalia throughout the 1990s and today. I have tried searching the internet but every search for "civilian casualties" simply spits out hits about Iraq, even when I put Somalia in the search string.

Specifically, I want to find out how many civilians have been killed in the anarchy that followed the UN pullout in 1995. Does anyone know of any sources that would have this info?

  • House was hit by lightning... How to prevent?

Two nights ago our house was hit by lightning. We lost 2 27" televisions, my PC had a burned out power supply (it didn't storm, otherwise I would have turned the PC off - the lightning came without any rain), I lost my linksys wireless access point, my playstation 2, a DVD player downstairs (which caught on fire when I tried to turn it on), the air conditioner is gone, and the garage door opener doesn't work. On top of this we have to have all of the phone lines in our house replaced because the lightning burned the lines out. Our driveway lamp post is also KIA. Here's the rub: Not one fuse in our fuse box was blown and every item on my list (except for the A/C, the garage door opener, and the phone lines) was on a surge protector... Not one of those surge protectors broke the surge.

Aren't houses supposed to be grounded? Is there any way to prevent future lightning strikes or is it safe to write this off as a freak act-of-God? Oh, and thank goodness for homeowners insurance!

  • How much is a full set of hockey cards worth?

I have a complete set of Leaf brand hockey cards for the 1992-93 NHL season. The cards are in perfect condition and, to be honest, I was about to put them out with the trash this week before I figured I'd check to see what they are worth.
