When sewing my own jeans....?
I am a very new beginner. I would like to eventually make some jeans once I have become more proficient. Do you have to have a certain type of sewing machine for jeans because they are so thick or do you just need a different needle?
3 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoGrocery budget arguement?
I have been having an issue with a recurring fight between my husband and myself. It seems ridiculous when I say it out loud but everytime I go to buy the groceries for the week I get chewed out because he thinks I spend too much. To give you a little background on the amount of cooking I do, we eat ALL our meals at home cooked by me. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner for my husband and myself as well as snacks (usually some fruit or crackers) for my 1 year old (who eats about half the amount I do). I spend on average about $100 a week on my groceries and if it helps I live in Plano, Texas. There are a few things I think which contribute to this, first: my husband goes to the grocery store once every few months at best every time he goes he is amazed at the cost of groceries, second: He has a friend who tells him that his wife buys groceries for himself, his wife, their 6 year old and their 2 year old with $75 a week. I would love to know their secret but truthfully I think it is BS unless they are eating out on occasion and not counting that money into the budget. I always buy whats on sale and I don't overbuy. We eat mostly chicken and hanburger as far as meat goes becuase it is usually the cheapest. I cut coupons when I can find them. Is my grocery budget really too high? If it is what else can I do to bring it down. If not are there any websites I can go to with average grocery expense info to show my husband or something like that? I am tired of being chewed out every time I buy groceries and his only solution is to "tighten the belt" which means he thinks we should either stop eating lunch or breakfast which seems really ridiculous to me.

pop a pimple that is right on the crack of his butt...Needless to say I REALLY don't want to do it. He says its my duty as his wife to help him with things like this but I think its asking a little too much so we are asking on yahoo answers to see if I should have to do it for him or if he should have to do it himself.
43 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHow should I tell him to help out more?
We have a 3 week old and I am a stay at home mom, as any new parents know a newborn is a hand full. Its hard to keep up with the house and my baby during the day. I cook dinner every night and usually end up finishing the cleaning at the end of the night when I "go to bed"...which means I try to sleep in between getting up every two hours to feed the baby, burp him, change him and rock him to sleep. The problem in all this is that my husband seems to think that his only responsibility is to complete his 8 hour work day, come home and relax. Most days he takes a 2 hour or more nap when he gets home and then goes to bed fairly early. I could really use some help with our child at that time as I have to try and cook dinner. And the weekends are his self proclaimed "slacker time". Which means I continue to clean up after him and get up at night with the baby with little or no help from him. When I bring this up he tells me how hard his job is and that he would trade me any day. What to do??
16 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHe spits the pacifier out every 5 min....?
My 3 week old has started spitting his pacifier out about every 5 miutes at night and crying until I give it back to him, he does it all night long and I am in desperate need of some sleep, I am starting to wish I had never used the pacifier. Should I stop retrieving it for him and let him cry it out??
10 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHusband thinks preganancy fatigue is bs, advice?
I am just coming into my 6th month of pregnancy and the fatigue that I felt during the early months is back. I am a stay at home wife and some days it is hard to keep up with the housework because I feel so tired. My husband has been very unsupportive lately telling me that I am using my pregnancy as an excuse to slack off, I would like some advise from women who have gone through the same. I can't figure out how to get it through his thick skull that pregnancy isn't all peaches and cream. I went to this website today http://www.marchofdimes.com/pnhec/159_15245.asp and printed out the article for him to read. Any additional advice would be much appreciate. And by the way no need to tell me he is being a complete ******....I know...and I have told him as much. Again thank you for any advice you might have.
24 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHas anyone ever used Maternity Card???
My husband was laid off during my pregnancy and our current insurance plan considers my pregnancy a preexisting condition. I am very worried about the cost of the pregnancy and pre labor visits. I am thinking about using Maternity Card but am not sure if its worth it. I would love to hear from people who know more about it or have used it themselves.
2 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoIs preganancy a preexisting condition if you didn't know you were pregnant?
If your doctor gives you the news that your pregnant and you concieved before you got your health insurance is it considered a preexisting condition?? Or does how far along you are when you purchase the insurance affect wether or not you are covered?
6 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoEvil cat exorcism?
My cat is evil. He must be stopped. He attacks for fun and hates all other animals. I think he is plotting my demise right now. So should I look for a good exorcist....and are there pet exorcists?.....or should I just sleep with one eye open, or possibly swear my allegiance and be his lowly peon if he will just spare me the brutal attacks? Oh god here he comes...
