  • How to find Annual report for a Not For Profit?

I'm looking into a possible pyramid scheme- Samaritan Ministries International but I can't find an annual report for them. They are a "we are not an insurance company" insurance company. Any help?

  • Samaritan Ministries Pyramd Scheme News-Worthy?

Samaritan Ministries International is an alternative insurance company where you have to pay for your health care yourself and for $285 a year you can ask the other members to re-inburse you. One of the catches is that your medical business is reported in their weekly newsletter, drug rehab is not paid for and neither are out of wed-lock pregnancies. Really, your condition needs to be worthy before someone might help you pay for it.

For example, cancer treatment might seem like a more worthy cause, so most people will intuitively help pay for that and overlook your need to go to the dentist.

And there is not government oversight and you have to sign a waiver so you cannot sue then for any reason.

I don't know what they spend that $285 on, considering the members are the ones who pay the bills. On the surface, it seems approachable, but the more you look into it the more you think it is a scam. It's set-up like a run of the mill pyramid scheme.

They claim they are not an insurance company, and I guess they are right. So, why would I pay them $285 a year to pay my medical bills myself?

And why haven't I seen any news coverage on this? Bernie Maddoff was a popular story, but this is ignored even though they lobbied and succeeded to get an exempt status from the new health-care bill.

  • the Mormon's who are Voting.?

if mccain wins this election, then it is nearly certain sarah palin will be the 2012 candidate.

    where does this leave romney?

if obama wins then the liklihood of romney running in 2012 greatly increases.

are there any mormons planning on voting for obama so that romney can run in 2012?

  • What Do You Make of Tolerance?

tonight i watched the vp debates. sarah palin said that she was "tolerant" of homosexuals. does anyone find this offensive?

like, i tolerate rising gas prices. as if homosexuals are something annoying and if she could do away with them she would.

i just don't see tolerance as the same as acceptance and i wondered if anyone else finds such a statement offensive.

  • Recovery Partition and Vista

after having a new laptop for two weeks and muddling around in the file system, i realized that i would like to keep a record of every change i make.

so, before i get into changing things i might as well reset the laptop back to out of the box condition.

my question is, how do i access the recovery partition and is doing this going to wipe out my OS? i don't want to find out that the hp settings went back to default but vista is gone.

    any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Since Paul says the Old Testament is a Fable?

how can christians cling to the false presumption that it is infallible?

in his letter to timothy he writes:

1Ti 1:3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

1Ti 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith:

this is not hard to understand.

the key words are "doctrine" and "endless genealogies"

timothy is told to keep the jewish christians from teaching the tanakh. he calls it a fable that causes the questioning of faith.

if the OT is a fable, then the bible, as it is presented, is fallible.

how can anyone, at this point, think that it is not?

  • Do Xians expect the Revelation Prophesies to come to pass?

Jon 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did [it] not.

this is regarding jonah's prophesy of the destruction of ninevah which never came to pass.

how can you be certain that armaggeddon will come?

it is demostrated here that God's Will can and does prevent prophesies from happening.

if jonah's prophesy wasn't meant to happen, you cannot be sure that God has the intention for the other biblical prophesies to come to pass.

since God's Will is undetermined, the bible has the potential to be innaccurate.

Should God change his mind (or if He already has)then the bible is no longer infallable. it's content, messege, or warning is as reliable as jonah's testimony regarding Ninevah.

How can you put such faith into a book that could be faulty?

How can you trust christianity to be the truth when it is based on this book whose messege can be wrong?

  • Why Don't Christians Read the Tanakh?

the tanakh is the combination of 24 books that the old testament is based off of.

since it is the original it is the most accurate and most complete.

why get second hand information when you can go straight to the source?

i mean, have you ever got a burned cd that is missing one of the tracks from the album or has filler tracks at the end that are by some other artist?

    kinda the same thing.

  • Bailey the Instigator?

    what's your deal?

1Th 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. .

i think that your snide arrogance is going to come back to bite you in the ***... literally by one of the great heads of cerberus.

then you'll understand the full meaning of "much gnashing of teeth."

  • isn't the "Atheists have a choice" argument the same as?

the "gays have a choice" argument?

"you CHOOSE not to serve god..."

    really?

i don't think such a claim is very well thought out.

i can choose not to accept the unfounded christian guesses as to what god is, but that's as far as it goes.

  • Christian Convictions?

by conviction, i mean a strong persuasion or belief; the state of being convinced.

    that's all faith is, right?

words like faith, hope, and even love are so overly used that they become generic and often shift or even lose their meaning.

to christians, having faith is like having the Holy Ghost. it is the highest value to them, but what does it really mean?

it isn't a separation between the righteous and unrighteous. it is merely the state of being convinced without plausible evidence.

or, more plainly, it is an opinion.

does putting this into context make sense to christians?

saying, "i have faith" is no more a qualifier for truth than saying, "i have an opinion."

a more honest approach, rather than saying, "i have faith in God," would be, " My convictions will not allow me to deny God."

at least there is a revelation of truth or higher understanding in such a statement. it would make christians seem more grounded... maybe even reasonable.

    any thoughts?

  • I Think I Just Found A Solution to America's Problems?

    jehovah's witnesses don't vote. they aren't allowed.

(see where i am going with this?)

since the whole of christianity, and not just the jws, is, to varying degrees, a cult anyway, if we can demonstrate that the jw's version of christianity is the closest to what god intended....

getting the mainstream christianity to shift to the jws will allow the voting majority to become non christians.

    also, here's a little secret...

    jw's don't run for office.

no christians on the ballot....no christians at the polls!!!

imagine an america that is politically secular.....

    (i'm foaming at the mouth)

i think we can do this.

do you think we can do this?

    praise jehobi!

(yes i know i just validated jw's by their own persecution complex but, that's part of the plan!)

    what do you think?
