8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler5 years agoAre scones classed as Bread or Cakes?
Scone - Bread or Cake? For the last 3 years the Mister and I have been divided on the matter...is Scone, bread or cake? According to our Bread Recipe Book, it features as bread, however, it has largely been enjoyed (by myself as something sweet to have with a cup of tea, although it has also been had as a sort of bread with cheese on it)... It would not matter so much any other time but, it is Lent, and for this we have given up all meat bar fish, and ...cake! So now I am sitting with a bit of a moral dilemna, to eat or not to eat a scone during my period of resolve to abstain from cake... I mention hereby the precedence set by the JAFFA CAKE lawsuit, apparently, Jaffa Cakes wanted to remain seen as it does by millions of Jaffa cake munchers, as a biscuit. More importantly for the manufacturers, the classification of biscuit meant they would be exempt from paying VAT, so legal teams pit their wits against one another and decided that by virtue of a cake getting hard when it starts out being soft, and a biscuit going soft when it starts out being hard, that Jaffa cakes must be a cake (it goes hard after being left out). I could argue that bread goes hard after being left out, but its still not a cake... Sigh, which brings me back to the sad reality, I feel like making some scones, but do not want to cross the line of my resolve...Is there a brave person who could put me out of my misery?
6 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agothe new yahoo is crazy in terms of privacy/security...how do revert back??
I send an email to my management company and if it has the same subject line (ie my property address) then ALL the recipients in my inbox (ie my estate agent and solicitors or anyone to whom i've written with that subject line in..) seems to be included in that mail.
Whoever thought up such crap to combine mails into conversations? How does one revert back to my previous version of Yahoo? its been bugging me for some time now, and often very private things seems to be clumped in together to people i'd rather not see a particular message...The moron who came up with this idea...(would be minced meat if i find him?)

2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agook, so i despise the Apprentice but somehow my love-hate feel for it can't stifle my need...?
to sit there willing certain contenders to "piss off" and others to make it to the top. I think, it will be a GROSS error in judgement and by way of messages to young people if that horse face Lee who horse-manured his c.v facts by lying about his university dates. what a load of manure. If he wins, I certainly hope there are not any sensible teenagers following the series. As if we need to entertain anything else going wrong with youngsters education nowadays. Did you notice its mainly youngsters who go around killing and committing crimes in the UK and also, schooling does not properly educate kids to face the real world. To morally educate kids that you can lie on your cv and have no consequences, that would be a down right dirty shame.
I did not want to follow the series since Raef got fired, but well, I think I now would like either Alex or Claire to win.
So the winner will help ole sugarplum fairy to design a perfume, why the hell didn't he start with a makeover instead?

1 AnswerSecurity1 decade agoWho else is boycotting against hairy scary fairy Alan Sugar's ludicrous decision to fire Raef?
Raef has delivered nothing but the best, and he's made ONE blunder, not even HIS really, it was that slimy, slithery, two-faced puss in boots slimeball Michael. (where the tissue box image was cut).
I will never watch this again, because the message that goes out to young aspiring entrepreneurs is that in the business world, you're more likely to succeed if you're good at acting/lying the way Michael did, in order to worm your way to the top. I think Raef is too good for them anyway, I hope that he is blessed with success with whatever he goes on to do, as the saying goes, you can't keep a good man down. So why does this alan sugarplum fairy make all those personal comments anyway, how professional is that??? I think sugarplum hairy faced fairy, you got the ones you deserve to work with you... (As time progressed, i kept coming back only to see Raef succeed...now there's no reason whatsoever to watch it ever again, oh by the way, I NEVER watch tv, except perhaps the news...)

2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHave you seen the YAHOO Featured Article on Yahoo's front page about Jennifer Maguire? (shoultnt it be mc..?)
Anyway, I'm now very very suspicious of the spelling of the so-called TV Editor who wrote the article (I was drawn to the article because I had my suspicions about this candidate all along and my suspicions are now being brought out into the light, as the article suggests).
What worries me is that, I'm sitting here at home, earning little money while some person sits there and does TV Editing...and can't even SPELL!
http://uk.tv.yahoo.com/blog/article/10389/
Look at the end of the 3rd paragraph... then look at this dictionary page which confirms my suspicions...that this person did not spell "suspicions" correctly...
http://www.onelook.com/?w=suspicions&loc=scworef&s...
Whoever you are dear TV editor, I would like to suggest that you expand your vocabulary, but that kind of scares me, since you obviously find it hard to do quality checks on your current vocabulary list... (when you are ready, go to www.dictionary.com , you get a word of the day by email (free!) x
