  • Question about mortgage interest deduction and pmi tax deduction.?

I want to better understand how the home mortgage interest deduction works with my employment income. My payment will be about $2,000 per month. Principal is $440 and interest is $1,137 per month. I gross $89,000 per year so I believe I fall into the 25% bracket. My pmi would be $182 per month but I will probably just pay the $7,000 up front so I don't have to pay it each month. So how does this affect my take home pay and or tax? Thanks so much!

  • Have you used the IRS withholding calculator? Is it accurate?

Have you used the IRS online withholding calculator? If so did you find it to be accurate in figuring allowances and your tax burden? Thanks so much!

  • Question about IRS withholding calculator.?

In the previous years we have received way to much refund back so I wanted to adjust it. We generally owed $6400 and have already paid in more than that. The IRS withholding calculator says to change the allowances to 19 but to be sure and adjust it at the beginning of the next year to avoid having to little withheld. I notice reading on the web some people say if you increase it by that much it is illegal and also anything 10 or over is reported to the IRS. So if it's illegal why does the IRS calculator recommend it? Am I fine to change it per the IRS withholding calculators recommendation since we already met our tax burden? Thanks!

  • Should cigna short term insurance pay for the full 8 weeks c-section?

Should cigna cover the full 8 weeks recovery time that my doctor recommend or do they deduct the 14 day waiting period? I was approved for 500 a week a total of $3500. Does this sound right or are they shorting me? I had a c-section so I will be out for eight weeks instead of six.

  • If I pay extra per month on my auto loan can I skip future payments?

I have a simple interest auto loan and the remaining balance is $8,000. I had been paying $100 extra every month and when I view my account online it shows that only $135 is due on Jan 07/2011. I havent made Decembers payment yet because if I understand it right I am not obligated to. Is this correct and how much interest would there be at a 3.9% rate for the month ?The normal payment is $466 a month so does this mean I can pay only the $135 without ruining my credit since I paid extra? Thanks so much!

  • Can someone please explain the terms of my finance agreement so I make sure I understand it correctly? Thanks?

Interest is calculated on your loan using the simple interest method.

This means that any funds received in excess of the standard

monthly payment, given that there are no late or miscellaneous

charges on your account are automatically applied to the principal

    loan balance.

As a result of our billing method, the subsequent billing statement will

show that your account is paid ahead. However, the net result with your

type of loan is that extra funds are applied to principal.

Please note, when your account is paid ahead, you are not obligated to

send a payment until the next payment is due. However, please note,

interest will continue to accrue daily based on your principal loan

    balance.

For verification, your next payment of $135.00 is due on 01/07/2011. Late

charges may be assessed if a payment is more than 10 days past due.

However, late payments are not reported to the credit reporting agencies

until they are 30 days or more past due.

    --------------------------------------… email terms above-----------------------------------

I have been paying an extra $100 every month so now my next payment due date is showing 1/07/2011. I havent paid this months yet but I assume because I made the extra payments I do not have to pay this month if I do not want to. Is this correct according to the email (above) from the finance company? Are they explaining in the email that the due date is correct or do I still have to pay on 12/07/2010 also? Also my interest rate is 3.9% so how much interest would be added for the month I don't pay? I am on leave from work and would like to use the money for my time off. I don't wan't my credit to be messed up so I want to make sure I understood this correctly. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain this to me. =)

  • Deep cleaning of teeth rejected by insurance but dentist told me prior they would not charge if it was.?

What do you think of this? The dental hygienist said I have pockets in between my gums but I haven't noticed any problems such as inflammation or red gums. My gums are in fact pink and never bleed when I brush them. The insurance recently rejected the claim from the dentist because they said "BENEFITS FOR PERIODONTAL SCALING AND ROOT PLANING ARE ONLY AVAILABLE WHEN THERE IS EVIDENCE OF LOSS OF ATTACHMENT DUE TO PERIODONTAL DISEASE. THE DOCUMENTATION SUBMITTED DOES NOT DEMONSTRATE LOSS OF ATTACHMENT CONSISTENT WITH DESTRUCTION OF THE PERIODONTAL LIGAMENT AND LOSS OF THE ADJACENT BONE SUPPORT. SCALING CALCULUS AND BACTERIAL DEPOSITS" (sorry for the caps it was like that on the website) The dental office told me prior to submitting to the insurance that they would not charge me if the insurance didn't pay because I told them to do a predetermination and they didn't want to take the time. The office manager just said the hygienist would never recommend something that didn't need to be done. It makes me wander about the honesty of the dentist if it was rejected and no evidence was found with what they submitted. Not only that I read most places that a deep cleaning is usually painful and requires more than one visit and mine was done in thirty minutes with no pain at all. I also visited the oral surgeon to have my four wisdom teeth done and he mentioned nothing about infection or gum problems which I think he would of considering he put me asleep to surgically remove my bottom two teeth. He also didn't put me on an antibiotic. The one other problem is they want to put ares-tin in the "pockets" but what also got me is she said we are not going to take care of them all only the couple. She mentioned the pockets were at 4 and five but I dint see any bleeding or pain consistent with that. The last thing is they kept trying to get me to pay for the deep cleaning making excuses for my insurance company not covering it even though my insurance said they would cover it if it was needed. My wife had one done and they did cover it. I brush regularly and floss regularly also. Take care and let me know what you think about this. Thanks so much!

  • Paid $50 deductible to general dentist and am being charged again by oral surgeon because...?

I have a problem I went to a general dentist and had a deep cleaning done so I paid my $50 yearly deductible and the cost not covered by the insurance. I have to go back in a few weeks to finish that service with a polishing and application of are-stat. The general dentist did not yet file with my insurance and it has been two to three weeks. Now that I am going to the oral surgeon to have my wisdom teeth extracted they are trying to charge again for the deductible because the other claim of course isn't showing up on my insurance. So the question is what can I do since the general dentist probably wont file until my final part of the procedure and my oral surgery is tomorrow? Do I have any other option other than paying my deductible twice since I only owe for one yearly? Thanks!

  • Toyota contract and website financed amount are different by $500.?

I just noticed that my paper contract and the toyota finance website "financed amount" are different by $500. I am curious on the contract it says balance to finance and on the website it says original amount financed. The number on the website is higher by $500. Is this an error in some way? I almost have this paid and just want to make sure because I just noticed it. Thanks!
