  • Can we stay in Antibes if visiting Cannes for the film festival?

My boyfriend and I are screening a short film at the festival - VERY excited! - and are looking for a place to stay. I've noticed that Antibes seems to have cheaper rates (I have checked hotels and vacation home rentals via VRBO and Home Away) and that we can take a train there and back. My question is, is it worth it to spend the extra money and stay in Cannes or would it be equally/more enjoyable to stay in Antibes? Thanks for the help everyone!

  • Where is the best place to live (rent) in LA for a young, artistic couple?

My boyfriend and I (both editors, photographers, filmmakers) are planning on moving from Atlanta to LA and aren't quite sure where to set up shop. We are 27 and 30, like to go out on the weekend (sometimes during the week because we work from home) and are hoping not to spend a fortune in rent. We like the idea of being able to walk to restaurants, shops and bars. Ideas appreciated!

Also, if anyone else has made this sort of move, is it wise to sell furniture and buy new or ship/have movers bring your things?

  • How well does Loestrin 24 work for women with PCOS?

I was prescribed it today and I have not taken birth control in a very long time (I have been ignoring the fact that I have PCOS for years). I am overweight and have the usual symptoms (mild acne, hair loss, etc) and I am hoping that this will help me lose weight and feel better. I have been experiencing random and terrible abdominal pain lately and am going back for a ultrasound next week.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

  • How do I get more gourmet point in Restaurant City?

I keep leveling up dishes (most are around a 3) and yet I have a 2.28 gourmet rating. Also, I have friends that just started playing the game that have a higher rating. What am I doing wrong?

  • Does Wii Fit really work?

I've started doing an hour of free step every day with 2 lb weights in each hand. I also circuit train 3 days a week (I am working out 7 days a week to get a jump start). I work up a sweat and feel sore the following day (mostly from the weights), but I am unsure if I am pushing hard enough. Would a treadmill or walking be better? Is the weight loss that I AM seeing mostly from the circuit training and weights?

  • What are some of your favorite low carb recipes?

I have PCOS and am trying to lose weight. I was told that low carb (as well as an all around healthy diet) was the best way to do so. I am not looking for recipes that are high in fat and low in carbohydrates, but ones that have decent fat/calories and low carbs. Any help is highly appreciated!

  • What is the best teeth whitening product that can be bought in grocery/drug stores?

I don't want to pay my dentist to whiten my teeth, but I also don't want to buy something from the store that won't work anyway.

  • What type of nightly routine should I have to fight the effects of aging?

I am a 27 year old woman that has no idea what she is doing. My friends all recently informed me that they have evening rituals to keep their skin from aging quickly. I don't have a mother to ask, so I have no idea what I should be doing to preserve my skin. I've always used a daily moisturizer and I have an evening routine of washing my face before bed and applying on-spot treatment to any blemishes I have. Aside from that, what should I be doing?

  • How do I know if a cyst burst on one of my ovaries?

I was experiencing pain a few weeks ago that caused bloating and other gastrointestinal related symptoms. I was first sent in for an ultrasound because my doctor thought that I may have gall stones. Nothing came back with my gallbladder, liver or kidneys. I recently went to another doctor and he suggested that a cyst had burst on one of my ovaries (I have PCOS). I am due for another ultrasound in the next few weeks.

I have been dragging a bit today and while showering this evening I experienced a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen. It has subsided, but I feel tired and sore all over. Any thoughts?

  • Quick remedy for a cold?

I feel like I am coming down with something, but at this point I feel OK. Does anyone know something I can take before a cold/flu starts to get over it more quickly or stop it from coming at all? I am leaving for vacation next Thursday and refuse to be sick!

  • How do a make a decent Scooby-Doo costume?

I was only able to find one online for my boyfriend (we're going as the entire "gang" for Dragon*Con). The costume is best for people under 5'11" and he is 6'2". I don't mind making one, but I also wouldn't mind finding a place that I can purchase one for a taller person.

  • Am I allergic to my wig?

I recently purchased a synthetic wig for a Velma (Scooby-Doo) costume for Dragon*Con. I am in the process of cutting it because it is a bob, but not exactly the shape of Velma's hair. I am wearing it and wetting it in order to cut it and noticed that my face is becoming a bit itchy and red. I have wore wigs for costumes before and never noticed an allergic reaction. Is it possible that this is happening because the wig is wet or should I consider scrapping the wig?

  • How did you respond to Metformin?

I am a 27 year old woman that was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17. I was "medicated" with birth control when I was younger, but stopped taking it and was never put on anything else. I am visiting an endocrinologist in the next few weeks to figure out my "cocktail," which I imagine will include Metformin and some form of birth control. I am curious to see how other woman have done using this medication. I am hoping to lose weight and rid myself of some of the oh-so-lovely side effects of having PCOS.

The second part of my question is this: I enjoy drinking. Not every weekend, but a few times a month. I have heard that this is not a possibility when taking Metformin. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thank you for any insight you can give me!
