Is there a law enforcement/military unit that protects the U.S. from terrorism?
I'm looking for a group specifically stationed in the United States. Outside the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard.
Is there any sort of mobile and highly trained group or government agency that's specifically tailored to protecting the U.S. citizens from attack?
The main stipulation to this question is that I'm looking for something that doesn't leave the U.S.. They stay here..and they protect us.
9 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoIf the end times are here/coming soon..where should I live?
I've been thinking about this a lot. Being 22 years old, I'm strongly looking toward the future and trying to make the best informed decisions possible.
I've asked about the similarities between the mayans/nostradomus/etc, but people on christian forums seem to think that these people were affected by satan and therefore were thinking along the same lines. Yeah, the mayans were pretty "evil" in regard to all the things they did..but does that really mean that they were wrong? I don't think anyone can know that answer.
Therefore.. I am nudged to make the decision "in case it happens". Seems like the most logical thing to do.
Anyway, given the energy crisis, global economic trouble, natural disasters abound, over populated urban areas, etc. What places do you think would be good to live in?
In all honesty with all my research I consider Georgia to be the "best bet". Why, I don't know... Just a feeling I have.
Opinions?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoPicking a "helpful" career?!! I'm looking for something that will allow me to help people in need.
This is a pretty general question, but I'll give you guys some background on where I'm coming from...
I'm young and married. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to get financially set up for my family. Obviously medical benefits are going to be necessary for developing a family.
I looked into the military, because of the enlistment bonuses, benefits, etc. My major conflict with that is the combat issue. My desire is to help people, not hurt them.
I know there are many government agencies dedicated to natural disasters and things like that. That's sort of what I'm looking for. I'd rather be part of a rescue squad than part of a police unit. Although, I would like as much training covering the full spectrum as possible. My trio is basically Firefighter, Police, and Paramedic. Are there any positions that cover all three of these?
I'd prefer to be coastal.. Probably in hawaii, because I have high regard for that area. I'd also like to be in the civilian sector.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoBest "Beater" Folding Knife?
I'm down to a couple manufacturers (cold steel, ka bar, SOG). I feel like those manufacturers make tough knives. I'm open to suggestions. I'm going to be camping and hunting with this knife. I'll cut a variety of materials including some wood with it. Who knows how often it will get dropped and onto what. I'm looking for something that's built strong, have a blade out of the box/keep it, and sharpen well when necessary.
I have recently purchased a kabar/dozier foldinghunter for $25 and it's a steal for the money. I'm looking for a bigger blade 4-6". I was considering CS recon 1, SOG trident, or kabar mule. They are all around the 70 dollar mark. I like the rugged design.
I'm looking under 100 dollars, preferably under 70. If you know of a knife that's cheaper than that, fits my criteria, and has handled everyday use well..feel free to suggest. I would prefer a cheaper option. I think everyone would.
