My furnace comes on but it is not igniting-it uses gas as the fuel source-was told not to light it. I feel cool air and the blower is on. I checked my filter (I had replaced it last month and it had very little dust on it) but noticed my indicator was blinking. It read 4 flashes-open high limit switch. I own a RPJ II comfortmaker and I am unsure of what to do. I cannot afford to call a serviceman and want to know what it is, what's causing it, and can I honestly fix this myself. Any help is truly appreciated.

My brake light came on Friday night & Saturday whenever I make left hand turns I hear a grumbling groaning sound. I wonder what this is. I read it may be a wheel bearing & not to drive because my wheel may fall off. Im scared to drive it now. Any suggestions until I get it into the shop tomorrow? Thank you.

I was employed at the same company for 8 years. I quit this job in December but after talking with my supervisors, I was allowed to come back less than 30 days later, however, I've been placed on probation for 6 months. My thing is nothing has changed, despite what they were telling me and I have had other job opportunities come up. I want to leave but afraid that me being on probation will affect anything I apply for. Is this possible or am I stuck? (I really don't want to and was even hesitant about coning back to work but I really needed the job).

I have a husband and a wife who do not wish to file together. The husband is on the road driving trucks and is out of the home most of the year. His wife is in the home with the 3 children but she works also. Is it possible for him to file head of household and she file single? Or must they file separate? This question was posed to me and I am unsure of what to tell her. She does not want to file with him (I think he owes student loans and his check might be garnished). Thanks.

I just received a phone call that I have to go to court. When I asked the guy for what, he stated that its for an old hospital bill. I had surgery in February so I am unsure (since I did pay upfront AND had insurance). I've moved in the last few months so no bills have come to me. If the amount is small, is it possible to make arrangements to have this paid without having to go to court? Other than my job, I've never been. Thanks.

I bought a lawnmower 2 months ago and it worked fine the first 3 times I used it. Well, on the 4 go, it started to sputter and dark smoke was coming out of the engine (where the little holes on the sides are). I checked and the oil was low so I added more. Well, lets say after it shook and sputtered, it died. I put fresh oil, gas and even bought new spark plus but nothing. My sister allowed me to use hers and it again, it worked fine the 2 times I've used it but on today it started to sputter and I notice a little dark smoke, too. I checked and the oil was low. Again, I put fresh gas and oil. Well, it cranked but a loud pop and dark blue smoke a few minutes later and now it won't crank. Any insight into what it could be? And someone mentioned it could be the gas (which I put in my truck & no problems) and will prolly have to get from another gas station. .

I have a small shed behind a house I just bought that has an electric line cable/line running from the house to the shed. I have no problem with it but recently a coworker was over and he stated that the line was too low. I reached up and sure enough I could reach it and I'm pretty tall. He said that with children playing it needs to be higher than 6 or 7 feet because someone could touch it or something happen. My question who would I call? The electric company or just an electrician? The line is low and I don't want there to be any problems. Thanks.

I recently bought a house and decided that the walls around the bathtub (they aren't tiled) need a little updating. I want to tile it but do it myself. I've taken the measurements and wanting to know if its really hard to do? I plan to do this after everyone has taken their baths tonight so that way I will have at least a day for it to dry. I bought a house last month but people have been telling me I would have to itemize when I do my taxes. I paid only a few hundred dollars in taxes and insurance on the home. I don't qualify for the First Homeowners credit because of the time frame. Is it really necessary to itemize if those few things don't total over or even close the $8500 deduction? Can't I just go ahead and file my taxes without it? Thank you.

Water is spewing back up when my washing machine drains. I've had the pipe inspected for any blockage and there isn't any. I was told the hose maybe too far in or too far out, however, after both adjustments, when the water starts to spin out, you can hear the water filling back up the pipe and then over the pipe wetting the floor. I took the pipe off and there is no obstructions. The pipe is pretty old and rusty and has a wide opening. Is it possible to get a narrower pipe? Unfortunately, I can't slow down the fast rush of water coming from the washer but I'm confused on what to do at this point. Any help or suggestions before I call the plumber again? Thanks.

My son's father added him to his Tricare insurance without my knowledge. I already had my son covered a year before that time. I recently found an insurance program that will help out by paying for everything including dental and prosthetics, which the Tricare does not. I asked my son's father to drop him and let the other insurance pick up the tab. He states he can't. As long as he is in the reserves, he states he has to have the insurance on my son and he is sorry the insurance has no dental or can't help with his leg brace (he works for the state and chose to get on the Tricare and let his state insurance go). I can't afford the health insurance & go without but it hurts that his father is comfortable that our 4 year old has no dental coverage, has no coverage for his leg brace and the Tricare is not covering as much as he thought it would so now I am stuck with everything. It doesn't make sense to pay for all of this when there is an insurance company that will cover everything with a small copay but I was told I can't have both at the same time....is there anything I can do? I am buying directly from the seller and not going through a mortgage co or lender. I was approved for the loan by my bank but they only financed 90% o the loan. I was told by the loan officer that once I get the 10% of the loan for downpayment, to bring it to the bank and a check would be cut for the entire amount. I am still a few dollars short of my downpayment but when I went to the bank w/the seller to look over the paperwork, I noticed that the amount to be paid to the title co. would be the 90%. I am confused....who do I give the 10% to if they have already wrote a check out for the 90%? I am to close Monday but am lost on whats next. I had planned to back out of the deal if I didn't get all of my money by tomorrow but after seeing the paperwork, I am a little confused. Thank you.

Are there programs for people this. A couple wants to buy a house but after all of the closing costs, taxes were calculated in, they were told the down payment by a loan officer. Although they have money saved, they are a quite a few dollars shy on what they need. And unless you make a lot of money, who really knows how much they will need for a down payment when they find a house they really like since not all homes cost the same amount. Any information that is helpful is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

-I went through a program this year for first time home-buyers. I was just told by someone that buys & sales homes that the agency may have caused my score to drop just by checking it. Is this right? I don't want my score to drop but I can't qualify for stuff if it isn't checked.

Tried the bbq pizza from Pizza Hut last night and was curious on what kind of bbq meat: beef or pork. It takes good but my son won't eat if its pork. Because it was late after it was ordered and they haven't opened yet, just wanted to know real quick. Thanks

I am helping a friend with her taxes. After they were submitted but rejected by the government, she received the message that the last name of her 3 year old is not what the SSA office has. Well, the child is a "Jr" so she entered "Jr" when it asked for the suffix on the dependent form. She checked his SS card and it has the same thing. She resubmitted but is worried it will be rejected again. She did not have this problem last year. So if it comes back should she just omit the "Jr" or let the government figure it out? Thanks.

My appointment is Monday and I tried to call the dentist last week. Where I'm going is over an hour away. My thing is my gums and face are now swollen and I've had a big bump on my gums at the top. I was told its most likely an infection/abscess. I know that I'll probably need a root canal at the top but my tooth right below that has broken off into the gums. Will the dentist be able to pull that tooth despite what's going on or will I have to wait? Thanks.
