  • Are you concerned by Some of the advice given out on here..?

    I for one am..

    take for an example a situation last night, where a cat owner had a cat with a eye infection/burst eye or absess...

    People who clearly where not qualified where dishing out advice, mostly involving treating the wound with some sort of medicated cleaner or peroxide, or dressing the wound with dry gauze until the vet opened..

    Fortunately two people with some knowledge (myself and a vetinary first aider where online) and offered valid advice, ie, sterile solution to keep it moist and clean, possibly wet/cold dressing, keeping the animal warm etc..

    Does it not concern people that where in situations like this an animals welfare is at stake, a mass of people giving albeit well intention, but often wrong advice, could lead to more damage or upset for the animal?
