  • what type of dress suits a short person?

I have my year 12 prom coming up soon and I don't want to spend too much on my dress as the special proms are usually year 11 and 13 (as they're the leaving ones) so i want something formal and pretty but not over the top and/or costly. does anyone have any suggestions? (if any shops/sites are recomended i'd rather they were in the UK)

I'm not sure whether to go for a long or short dress or just try a corset and skirt or something. I had a skirt which was white with a black belt and flowers which reached my knees last year and although nice...looking back now i think i looked a bit like a teapot...so i want something a bit...thinner this time. I'm only 5''1' and 'average' build (probably size 10ish) so i'm not sure whether going for a longer dress will just make me look frumpy or even shorter....

any suggestions would be appreciated :)

  • is it normal to bleed during/after sex?

I had sex for the first time a couple of weeks back and, although slightly painful (more in an uncomfortable way) everything ran smoothly.

But (differently to the first time) - we tried again yesterday and it hurt so muchi had to ask him to stop. When i went to the loo i found a little blood...i thought it must have been i'm starting my period a little early...but nothing else seems to have happened to support this theory.

Is it normal to bleed a bit, on your first/second time?

    I'd welcome any suggestions...

  • How do I choose which subjects to continue with for sixth form?

I definately want to do Art and English Lang..

I probably want to do Psycology and/or Drama too

    Maybe Geography or/and music too

...But im good at English Lit too and my teahers really thinkI should do both. I really like music and drama but I don't think i'll have the right grades to go through with them...

Should I try and have a wide range? or should i stick to my best artistic side and hope I won't want to change the direction I am taking later in life as, theoretically, having better qualifications would mean a better job anyway...

    Does anyone have any tips?

  • Home Schooling - how easy? GCSE's out of school?

My friend dropped out of school just before christmas for many reasons, mainly because of their friends had turned against them and were bullying them terribly. They are in the same year as me, (Year 11, last year of school). This means that they will not be able to do their GCSE's, I was wondering if anyone knew how easy/straight forward it is to start being home-schooled, (or perhaps if there is a way of teaching one's self or being taught online).and if theres a way of taking the GCSE exams outside of school. Also...if there are any legal requirements (other than 'it's illegal to skip school') because my friend is 16 so legally he can quit now.

Bit of a long-winded question but if anyone can help with any btis of it I'd be very appreciative.

  • I'm looking for my first job...any ideas? any funny stories about your first job?

I'm cominup to my 16th birthday and I'm hoping that I can get a decent enough job which I can work through the evenings and weekends. I'd rather not be a person who cleans...although I'm not all that fussy, I guess I'd rather not be in a shop neither. Anyone got any ideas for where some places hire young workers for part-time? or where I could find a company that lists them?

Otherwise I'd be happy to hear about your own first jobs :)

  • Does anyone know of any organisations in Bucks which help with route plans for backpacking around the world?

Me and a buddie are planning to take a gap year and go backpacking around, mainly Europe and Africa. We are currently trying to set up a route plan, does anybody know of any organisations which help with this?

My mother pointed out one in Oxford called 'Backpackers' which she went to but we think it may have closed down or relocated :/
