  • Are there possible careers with a mixture of abnormal psychology and developmental psychology?

I'm a senior in high school and planning on majoring (and going further) in psychology in college. I love working with children, but abnormal disorders fascinate me also. Are there any career options that provide a mixture of abnormal and developmental psychology?

Also, providing a few courses that would be good to take in high school would be helpful. And what I would be taking in college. Thank you!

  • Majors, Minors, & Degrees?

I would like to double major in two subjects, but minor in a subject that is completely unrelated to the two I am majoring in. Is that even possible? Obviously, I am new to all of this.

  • Tell me all about sociology?

I am interested in a major in sociology. I'm only in high school right now, but I'm ambitious. =]

Now, I would like to work with children (mainly those involved in adoption agencies and foster care). I would also like to specialize in helping those with developmental disabilities. Based on those interests, what things should I involve myself with in college? Specifically.

And any other information anyone can give me on this sort of thing would be greatly appreciated. Obviously, as a high school student, I don't know much about a future in this field.

  • Christian books aimed towards non-believers?

I have a friend who I care for and love deeply. I am a born again Christian and we have discussed religion many times. My friend is probably more knowledgeable concerning basic Bible stories then I am, actually! He is very interested in religion and recently told me that he wishes that he could be a Christian, but he feels as if he needs a sign to make him truly believe.

Anyway, the bottom line is that I need a book for him that could maybe help to him to make sense of it all. Are there any books that you would recommend?

  • Ideas for a mix CD for my boyfriend? Guys' input appreciated.?

My boyfriend is more into the classic rock and indie/alternative styles of music. Does anyone have any good ideas for the kinds of songs relating to love that I could put on there? Also, is it weird to have a song sung by a male artist on the CD? Would that be a little disconcerting on his part?

  • Anyone want to help with a diagnosis?

So, for the past four days I've been having odd symptoms. I first start to shiver uncontrollably for an hour or maybe more. Then my temperature starts to rise and I get a fever of about 102 or 103. This fever lasts at the most six hours and at the least two hours. Afterwards, my fever starts to break and I sweat profusely. This whole cycle continues itself about fifteen hours later.

Now, I know that these symptoms match up completely with malaria, but that's just ridiculous. Are there any other sicknesses that have the same symptoms, but are a little more logical and likely?

  • Involving classic AIM while using Windows XP?

I use classic AIM (5.9, I believe) on Windows XP. For some reason, whenever I switch users on Windows the away message for AIM is taken off. Then it looks as if I am online and am available for instant messaging. I have looked through all of the help topics and can't seem to find anything that will help. I'm not the brightest of people when it comes to technology, so if you have any suggestions they would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

  • I've been asked to have a poem published...?

by Noble House. Is this a true and real publishing company or is it a scam to get my poem and claim it as their own? To anyone who has had any experience with this company your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • So, there was this movie...?

and I do not know what the movie title was or who was in it, but it was about these two families that rented a beach house for the summer and the owners accidentally booked the house for the same two families. It was a single father and his children and then a single mother and her children. Then the two families had to learn to get along and such. I also know that the single dad was a chef and the single mom and her fiance who eventually shows up are vegetable enthusiasts, or something along those lines. It used to be on ABC Family a lot, but back then it was called Fox Family.

My brother and I are tearing our hair out over here because it is bugging us so much. If you could help we would love you forever (because, ya know, that's the best gift of all). Thanks!

  • How would you solve this math equation?

Just for my own benefit (don't worry, I'm not cheating), I'm taking a practice PSAT test and I'm drawing a complete blank on how to solve this equation for A: 2A/3 = 8 + 4A

If you could explain what to do, it would be greatly appreciated and ten points would go to whoever explains it most clearly.

    Thank you!

  • What books are on your "Read Before You Die" list?

There's a book entitled "1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die." Although the list is impressive and has a lot of great literature on it, I feel like it is missing some things. What about you guys? What are some of the books you think are a must?

  • I need some suggestions of artists...?

that my aunt may like. She is into John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Sara Bareilles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Cat Stevens. Kind of like that easy listening type of driving-with-the-windows-down-on-a-sunny-day genre of music. Any suggestions of some other artists or bands?

    Thank you!

  • Can a child of sixteen years live on their own with permission of his or her parents?

I have heard in the past that a child who is of sixteen or seventeen years of age is able to live independently as long as they have the consent of whomever their guardian may be. Is this true? Is it true for all states? I am most interested in Ohio's laws, but anything that you know would be helpful. Thanks.
