  • Can you use a standard ring as a wax seal stamp?

I have been looking for a specific shape for a wax seal, but have not been able to find it and cannot afford to have one custom made. I did find ring in an appropriate shape however, and it is wide enough and flat enough on the surface that I think it could be used as a signet ring. (picture here: http://www.gothicfairydragonfigurines.co.uk/images... Have any of you out there ever used a non-signet ring to make wax impressions? If so, what are the problems you faced, and how did you overcome them? Is it possible to use this sort of ring, or will it get stuck in the wax? (I've been using wax seal stamps for years, and understand the principles of vapor barriers, etc.) Any enlightenment is appreciated.

  • Eye makeup ideas for green hair.?

I'm doing a convention in a week where I will be showcasing a green hair dye. I have already designed make-up for dramatic looks and minimal look, but I need some ideas for a look that is supportive. What color eyeshadow and lipstick/gloss would work to support the color without competing with it? We are looking to avoid greens, as they are being used extensively in the dramatic look. The haircolor in question is Manic Panic's Enchanted Forest, which is a dark blue-green.

Please note: do not leave comments that are derogatory towards the hair color itself. While I realize that some people believe they are being clever and funny by leaving snarky comments, such comments are absolutely useless in the context of answering the question. I am only interested in professional, artistic comments that will help us put our demo together. Compliance with this request is appreciated.

  • Can Military Spouses Contact Housing?

My husband is in the Army, and we've just PCS'd. He's currently going through in-processing, and has gotten us on the list for base housing. We have an address assigned to us, but he's too busy with in-processing to be able to contact them and find out what the address is. I really want to help him, but I do not want to get him in trouble either. Am I allowed, as his spouse, to contact the housing office and obtain that information? I am brand new to the process, and do not want to make any trouble for him.

  • Eyeshadow that goes on patchy - how to fix?

I have very large, kind of round, deep-set eyes. My lids aren't particularly wrinkly, but I have a hard time putting on eyeshadow in any sort of defined way because the applicators tend to snag on my skin and skip portions of it. So instead of a neat, smooth line I get a fuzzy one with lots of patches of bare skin. This is even with little to no pressure - the applicator just seems to love grabbing onto my skin. This happens with brushes as well as the little sponge-tip applicator.

This is especially bad if I try to extend past my eyes to elongate them (to compensate for the roundness). It's very frustrating because at the corners of my eyes not only do the applicators snag and skip, but they deposit unsightly blobs of color immediately afterwards. So instead of a neat cat's eye effect, I get ugly random patches of color with absolutely no control over their shape. Does anyone know what is causing this to happen, and perhaps how to fix it?

  • Kitty with a stuffy nose?

My kitten has an upper respiratory infection. She's on antibiotics and seems to be getting a little better but has gone from wet sneezing to a miserable, stuffy nose. We're going to take her to the vet soon anyway to have her stitches checked (she was recently spayed) but is there anything I can do to relieve her discomfort in the meantime?
