How to acknowledge Step Parents in the Grooms speech.?
I get married in 2 weeks (19th July) and I'm having a few issues with how to address step parents in the Grooms speech.
There is no anonimity between the parents - we can have all 4 in the same room without them battling tooth and claw.
The issue is; which order do I thank them?
Obviously I need to thank the father of the bride independantly but then do I say mother and stepfather (of course by name and not relationship) and then mention father of bride and step mother?
I don't want anyone to take offence by thinking "oh he thanked them before us" etc etc...
All the other parts of the speech are in place - the funnys, the story of how we met, it's just this thing dong my head in !!!
Thanks in advance...
P.S. Not getting married isn't an option ! ;o)
6 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoITIL v2 Foundation exam?
I have my exam on friday. I've been going through the foundation CD learning couse and it just isn't sinking in.
I understand what ITIL is all about but I can't memorise all the different processes and sub processes of the different management catergories.
Does anyone who has taken their ITIL v2 Foundation know of a BRILLIANT learning course that I can get online.
I'm really worried that I may fail it and loose my job.
I just can't take it in and it's doing my head in now.....
Is there anyone out there that can teach me how to learn? Sounds daft I know but I just can't learn things by looking at a screen for 8 hours and listening to some boring old codger go on about CMDBs and CI's.
I need to have something that will etch itself into my memory so that I can rememeber it for the multiple choice exam.
Thanks in advance...

Or did it just scare the living sh1t out of you?

4 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoMy Cat is weeing everywhere...?
My Cat, Frodo, is about 8 months old.
He has suddenly started weeing everywhere.
He has a litter tray that is cleaned daily but he still insists on weeing in clothes baskets and on piles of towels/clothes.
He also climbs into the wardrobes and drawers and squats down in there.
We think he is just lazy as when we put a 2nd litter tray upstairs he uses it.
Can anyone suggest why he has started doing this?
PS He has been nutered.

15 AnswersBeer, Wine & Spirits1 decade agoWhat does the world actually think of the UK at the moment?
It used to be a pretty good country to live in but now personally the grass isn't so green at the moment !
I think the country is going to pot and the politicians are too damn stoopid and greedy to do anything about it and turn the country around into the "Great" Britain it was in the Churchill years !
Love to see people from overseas think of the UK.
Be as crude and insulting as you want - I won't loose any sleep over it - promise !
8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHalloween costumes?
I'm know as being the person that always turns up to my friends halloween partys in the best costume.
In the invites this year he has stated there is a prize for anyone who can beat my costume as I always excel myself.
I'm really stuck this year for a good costume. Last year I went as "Papa Lazerou" from the League of Gentlemen (UK BBC TV show) complete with Minstral style face paints - top hat, wig, walking cain and knee length jacket with pegs inside - it went down really well and everyone said I had by far the best costume.
I don't want to go as a ghost or a vampire or a mummy or zombie - I want a costume that won't cost too much that people will say "wow thats a top costume"
I'm a bit strapped for cash this year - I have the black and white face paints from last year and still have the wig and top hat.
Any ideas peeps? - sensible answers only pweese...
8 AnswersHalloween1 decade agoCannabis (re)Classification (UK)?
The old debate about reclassification again !
I'm sure you are all aware of the debate that surrounds this topic.
Cannabis can be, in some cases, one of the only forms of medication that can ease pain caused by MS etc but the government will not allow it to be used as it is classed as a recreational drug and not a drug with medicinal values.
Alchohol and Tobacco kills 100,000's of people each year and is totally legal ! It has no medicinal values (commercially) yet people can walk into any shop and buy it.
I won't fully go into the in's and out's as people who are knowledgeable in this topic will already know the background of the debate about reclassifing/legalising cannabis.
Only IF you agree that it should be reclassified or legalised please take 1 min to fill in this petition:
http://www.howardmarks.info/petition/index.asp
If you have any other comments regarding the reclassification/legalisation it would be interesting to hear them here...
10 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAnyone with a HP Compaq ne6400 laptop?
We have one here at work ready to send out - we have imaged it from a boot disk but when we booted to windows the touchpad and mouse nipple aren't working.
Anyone else had this?
Anyone know of a fix?
It isn't a driver issue as it it recognised in hardware profile as working correctly.
External mouse (USB) works fine.

1 AnswerPolitics1 decade agoWhen you see people in the street talking to themselves?
Who are they talking to?
I don't mean when you and I just think out loud but you see folk wandering the streets seeming to be having conversations with no one.
Before someone is tempted to post it I'm not on about people with mobile phone bluetooth headsets on either !!
I'm refering to people who walk along muttering things and even changing their facial features whilest doing so.
Do they think there is somebody pysically there, do they see someone or are they talking with a voice in their heads?
This is in no way meant as disrespectfull to people who suffer with mental illness - I've just always wondered who they think they are talking to.
What do you think?
26 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoEdmonds confesses to '186mph drive'?
There is a yahoo news item as per the link below that reports Noel Edmonds has admitted to driving his Ford GT at 186 MPH
Below is a quote from the article – please have a quick look:
"I feel that all the television personalities who admit things like that could be in a position where young people look up to them and if they see that they think 'Oh, that's fine, we can do that'." /end quote
Do you honestly think that the public are that stupid that they belive if a famous person does something that it is ok for them to do it?
I feel that sometimes these watchdog groups don’t give the public the credit they deserve.
10 AnswersOther - Yahoo Products1 decade agoDo you give your cat catnip?
I have an 18 month old silver black tabby called Charly who doesn't like it but Frodo the 10 week old little short haired black and white loves the stuff - he bounces off the walls (literally) because he runs around like he has a banshee up his bum and runs into things... (doesnt hurt himself)
His eyes go really wide and you can see it build up inside him like winding up a toy then BOING like someone flicked a switch he's off on one darting around everywhere.
27 AnswersCats1 decade agoWhy do people post silly questions on here like "where can I buy (insert item here)"?
Do people no longer have the ability to use the internet. Like it isn't easy enough already to find anything - and I mean ANYTHING you would ever want in the world, just by doing a google/yahoo/generic search engine search.
People have to come on here asking where can I get some shoes - where do I buy food from - where do I buy a DVD from.
If you are competant enough to use Yahoo Answers then why can't you search on a search engine...
Jeez - 1 year older today and I've turned into a miserable whinging old g1t.
