Do you think it is ok for AGW activists to pressure the media to change stories related to Global Warming?
Beginning of link plus the link follows.
I have been emailed the following correspondence, purportedly between an activist, Jo Abbess, and BBC Environment reporter Roger Harrabin. It would appear that the result of the email exchange between the activist and the reporter was that the BBC changed its story. In particular instead of reporting the story as received from the World Meteorological Organisation, the BBC modified the story as demanded by the activist who was concerned that in its original form it supported 'the skeptics' correct observation that there has been no warming since 1998.

Climate Changers,
Remember to challenge any piece of media that seems like it's been subject to spin or scepticism.
Here's my go for today. The BBC actually changed an article I requested a correction for, but I'm not really sure if the result is that much better.
Judge for yourselves...
7 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoOn a yearly basis, how much ice forms around antarctica in winter and then melts during the summer?
Is ice breaking off of antarctica an abnormal occurance or is it just business as usual?
5 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoIt is obvious neither side of the Global Warming theory will listen to the other so nothing is getting done.?
Because we argue about global warming, no actual changes can take place in our environment. More and more children and adults have asthma and chemicals are placed in direct contact with us and in our homes and food. Because the human C02 issue and global warming argument is so contested the government is able to do anything they want with regard to pollution and harmful chemicals substances. The FDA is not helping us but hurting us by banning substances like Stevia as a sweetener so we can all drink poisonous Nutrasweet all because a plant cannot be patented. Why can't we all just get along and stop worrying about the sky falling and actually take individual action instead of relying on the government to tax us and spend our carbon tax money on their lifelong salaries.

Changes in the Sun’s Surface to Bring Next Climate Change
January 2, 2008
Today, the Space and Science Research Center (SSRC), in Orlando, Florida announces that it has confirmed the recent web announcement of NASA solar physicists that there are substantial changes occurring in the sun’s surface. The SSRC has further researched these changes and has concluded they will bring about the next climate change to one of a long lasting cold era.
Today, Director of the SSRC, John Casey has reaffirmed earlier research he led that independently discovered the sun’s changes are the result of a family of cycles that bring about climate shifts from cold climate to warm and back again.
“We today confirm the recent announcement by NASA that there are historic and important changes taking place on the sun’s surface. They will have only one outcome – a new climate change is coming that will bring an extended period of deep cold to the planet. http://www.spaceandscience.net/id16.html

Br-r-r! Where did global warming go?
By Jeff Jacoby
Globe Columnist / January 6, 2008
THE STARK headline appeared just over a year ago. "2007 to be 'warmest on record,' " BBC News reported on Jan. 4, 2007. Citing experts in the British government's Meteorological Office, the story announced that "the world is likely to experience the warmest year on record in 2007," surpassing the all-time high reached in 1998
But a funny thing happened on the way to the planetary hot flash: Much of the planet grew bitterly cold.
In South America, for example, the start of winter last year was one of the coldest ever observed. According to Eugenio Hackbart, chief meteorologist of the MetSul Weather Center in Brazil, "a brutal cold wave brought record low temperatures, widespread frost, snow, and major energy disruption."
10 AnswersGlobal Warming1 decade agoWhy are climate models from computer scenarios being used as scientific predictions for Global Warming?
Let's put it this way. Why aren't actual climate observations being used instead? Observations like C02 is not the green house gas most prominent in our atmosphere, water vapor is. Not only that but at any given depending on the temperature and where you are on the planet, water vapor makes up 30-70% of the greenhouse gas where C02 is only present in quantities of 9-26%.
I personally can't wait for an attack on water vapor in the next global warming debate.
