  • What Excel Formula to Use?

I am building a report and am now officially outside my experience in trying to build this formula. My brain says it should be relatively simple, but my knowledge on how to make it happen just isn't there.

    Here's what I'm working with:

I have an original financial estimate, followed by weekly updates to that estimate once there are actual numbers to base it on. I need a formula that will automatically calculate the delta between the latest revised estimate & the original estimate. It should automatically select the correct cell based on whether the cell is blank or has info in it.

    I tried this one: =IF(ISBLANK(O51),N51-J51,(IF(ISBLANK(N51),M51-J51,(IF(ISBLANK(M51),L51-J51,(IF(ISBLANK(L51),K51-J51)))))))

I got a "FALSE" response rather than the answer. Where did I goof up?

    Thanks for any help.

  • My PCOS Disappeared - How is that possible?

About 7 or 8 years ago, I underwent a ton of lab tests which came back positive for PCOS. This was determined due to the ratio between hormone levels, which ones were higher than average, etc. I have struggled with acne, irregular periods and weight issues since puberty. Further, I'm of

Middle Eastern descent, which ups my odds of PCOS.

I do not handle the standard treatments well - Metformin & the likes give me horrible side effects & the only birth control I was able to tolerate was Depo. However, my husband & I are ttc, so my last Depo shot was allowed to expire (last shot due on 7/29/09 but I didn't get it).

I had a visit with an endocrinologist (my first visit in about 5 years) in Nov. 2009 & went through all the standard labwork again. Only this time? No signs of PCOS whatsoever. By the end of Nov, I had already regained my periods after the Depo expired, too.

Is it possible that working the Depo out of my body effected my labwork, or am I really now (suddenly) PCOS free? How is that even possible??

  • Buying a car - signed sales agreement but not financing. Can we back out?

We signed the sales agreement yesterday with a dealership with a verbal agreement on monthly payments & length of the loan. However, they couldn't get us the financing paperwork because their "system was down" and we're supposed to get that info today.

If they come back with a payment outside of what was agreed upon yesterday, can we still back out? Not sure if this helps, but we're in the state of Kansas.

  • Real Estate Fraud - How do we know how much to ask for?

We recently purchased a townhouse with a beautiful fenced back yard. The seller's disclosure states that the property lines are marked by the fences & that the fences belong to us. The fenced yard was a HUGE selling point for us with this property.

However, we have recently discovered that we actually own 3 ft of land surrounding our townhouse -- the yard is actually part of our HOA. In addition, the HOA is removing the fence which puts us in a hard spot (we just got a new puppy!).

We have been informed by a lawyer (through our real estate agent) that this is fraud. The relocation company that sold us the house didn't perform due dilligence & we have solid grounds for a lawsuit.

How much can we sue for? How can we find out how what is the reasonable/correct amount?

  • Severe Stomach Pain & Systemic Mastocytosis??

Hi there... I've been diagnosed with systemic mastocytosis. I've had it under control for about 3 years now, but suddenly have had a huge flare-up that no one can explain.

I've been sick since the first of the year with severe nausea, stomach pain and vertigo. While changing up my antihistimines has helped, I can't seem to get rid of the stomach pain, and am still experiencing some nausea!

I'm taking 40 mg of Pepcid daily and I'm still suffering. Seems to happen anytime I eat, so I've pretty much stopped eating (I know, not good -- but what would YOU do if you were in agony every time you ate?).

I know it's not an ulcer -- we've checked that. I know mastocytosis can cause stomach pains like this, but the Pepcid has always fixed it in the past.

Does anyone else have mastocytosis? Any ideas for me?? I'm leaving for my honeymoon in 4 days and I REALLY don't want to be sick the whole time!!!

    Thank you for your help!

  • Getting over vertigo, but still have bad spells?

I was diagnosed with vertigo 5 weeks ago (seeing a doctor weekly). When I went it, it was severe. I could barely stand, sit up, or walk. I was vomiting and unable to keep anything down. I was put on Promethezine and told to wait it out. Later, they added Antivert. After 4 weeks, they took the Promethezine away and left me on the Antivert.

I've gotten better. I'm eating solid foods, I'm working, I'm able to function most of the time. There are even hours without symptoms!

But the last few days, I go from feeling GREAT to having a sudden sharp pain in my ears and a an extremely loud rining (so loud, I don't feel I can hear anything else). This lasts for anywhere from 1-10 minutes and then leaves. The pain sometimes continues, but the ringing stops.

I'm also still struggling with the nausea (either just at night, or sometimes ALL DAY!).

Is this typical for vertigo? Should I be getting concerned? Could this be something other than vertigo?

  • I've had vertigo for 4 weeks and it won't go away! How long does this last?

I am under medical care -- taking Antivert and seeing my doctor every week. I have gone from severe vertigo to moderate/mild vertigo in 4 weeks time. Even on Antivert, I still experience blurred vision, balance issues, feelings of movement and extreme nausea. It now seems that my hearing is a bit "dimmer" than it was before. A week ago I got an additional bacterial ear infection that caused me to get a scab on my eardrum, too.

I am eating solid foods for the first time in a month, but am struggling to keep it down.

How long will vertigo last? Are there other things I can do to help speed along my recovery? What caused me to GET vertigo? I am at my wit's end and (sadly) my doctor can only tell me to be patient and wait it out. From what I've read, vertigo seems to only last 2 or so weeks unless it's really serious. Should I be worried? What are the odds the hearing loss is permanent?

  • I have small, unraised white spots on my back, shoulders & under my eyes. What are they?

These startes showing up slowly during puberty, and multiplied during my early-to-mid 20's. They seemed to stop, but suddenly have appeared under my eyes now that I'm in my late 20s. I was told they were steatocystoma multiplex, but those are raised cysts, and these are totally flat.

It almost looks like I'm losing pigment there, but when I tan, they darken -- they're just never as dark as the rest of my skin.

What are they? How can I get them to go away? They've covered my shoulders and are starting to show up on my upper arms; they are all over my upper back; and are now all over my under eye area.

    Thanks for your help!!!
