I have small, unraised white spots on my back, shoulders & under my eyes. What are they?

These startes showing up slowly during puberty, and multiplied during my early-to-mid 20's. They seemed to stop, but suddenly have appeared under my eyes now that I'm in my late 20s. I was told they were steatocystoma multiplex, but those are raised cysts, and these are totally flat.

It almost looks like I'm losing pigment there, but when I tan, they darken -- they're just never as dark as the rest of my skin.

What are they? How can I get them to go away? They've covered my shoulders and are starting to show up on my upper arms; they are all over my upper back; and are now all over my under eye area.

Thanks for your help!!!

There not freckles are they, all the places you named are where people get freckles. You mentioned tanning, that can make freckles worse.

it could be what is called a Sty. And its just a build up kind of like an infection. Leave it alone (dont squeez) and put hot compresses on it and it will go away in a few days. Dont wear make up though as it could pass onto the eyeliner/mascarra or something and reinfect you. Its nothing seriouse though

Hi tah i would see a dermatologist about the spots on your back and out of sunlight to be safe as for the facial ones get them analysed by biopsy for piece of mind you could also be allergic to certain food products ie.dairy produce or poultry best of luck

i've heard that white spots on the face could be a vitamin deficiency. check with a doctor..
