Our gardener, who I assumed was poor, told my wife recently that he bought his house for close to a million dollars. I assumed he was either lying or bought it with 10 people and 20 or so were living in there. I was more disturbed when my wife added up how much he probably makes a day based on what he charges us and realized this guy makes as much as me. Is this possible? Keep in mind this is not a professional gardener, just a blow and mow guy with a few basic skills.

People talk about how bikes purchased at toys r us or a department store are junk; toys. I understand that there's a difference in quality in the frame materials and components, but the difference in price is staggering. You can buy a new bike for a hundred bucks at these stores. Shiny, new and serves the purpose. Go to a bike store and you'll have to pay maybe $1,000, which I think is completely ridiculous. I just want a bike to ride around on paths and on the streets. Used bikes are also expensive if you want a fancy one, or they're beaten up. It's not like a department store bike is going to fall apart on me or be unsafe is it? I rode one of those, a schwinn, for decades with no problems.

I am looking for a reliable and FREE dvd burner software so I can get videos onto disc. NO watermark, No free trials. I need a complete program that I can download. I was using Freemake and the new version seems to not have the ability to burn dvd+r's. The software I need must be able to do so. Only serious responses please!

I am looking for a site that allow me to build an extended family tree and then print it. The popular sites I've checked don't inform the user up front about whether they can print from the site. Can someone recommend a free site that does not have limitations? There must be a lot!

how come i cant find scores on the front page of the online version of my local paper? why isn't the basic info (score, what game they're on, etc.) listed front and center? also, whats the deal with the beards?

I want to buy a second remote for our wii, so I've been checking ebay. It occurred to me that a lot of them are knock-offs. this seems to be the case with those in different colors. are these safe to buy, do they have the vibrate feature that regular remotes from nintendo do and are they good enough quality? Also, do i need an extra nunchuk as well?

My child has hundreds of pieces for various sets and we need to relieve the clutter in his room. Should we just mix them all up, or save them in case he eventually wants to make the sets? The problem is there are dozens of instruction booklets as well and we don't know how to organize all the material together.

I have the net kinds you throw on bushes. Some of them have half the lights out. What does this mean? Is there an interruption in the middle of the circuit? Missing or broken bulbs? Broken wire halfway through? Is this fixable or should I toss them? Obviously the fuses are okay and I don't want to get a light tester.

Many pop-up windows and videos won't play. I am using Windows Vista 64-bit. Apparently flash doesn't run with this system, but I've never had problems with this before. How can I get it back to how it was working before? I think something got shut off. In the meantime, how do I select another system to run these things?

I've noticed that people I used to be "friends" with on Facebook sometimes can no longer be found. I will do a search for them and they won't come up. Why is this? Have they "unfriended" me so I can't see them anymore? If I "unfriend" someone, will they get a message or do I just disappear in their "friend" list and they can't search for me either?

Also, how does the "newsfeed" feature work? Does it just pick random comments from friends and post them in no particular order? If so, does this mean everyone sees different random comments on their "newsfeeds"?

There's a bluebird (not sure what kind) that keeps flying down onto our back doors that lead to the yard, landing on the door knob and pecking against the glass. Is it deranged?

I want to purchase a prius. First I wanted to buy from a private party, but prices were ridiculous. then i found that 2011's were more popular than 2012 and most dealerships have very few. then i heard about the c. my questions:

when will the c be in dealerships?

will the c be a safe purchase? should i wait for it or proceed to buy a regular prius?

how much is a good deal on a prius 1 or 2? i want something basic and want to pay as little as possible.

It seems everyone, even grandmothers, are using these stupid iphones, or similar devices. Whatever happened to flip phones? Are there no other phones made available nowadays? My impression is that using a "smart phone" costs a ton of money- to buy it, but mainly to maintain it. Isn't it somewhere around $200 a month? I'm wondering how people can afford that and what the argument is for having something that a) costs a ton, and when we are in an economic crisis. most of the people using iphones can't even afford them b) its another distraction in the day c) the argument for checking email doesnt hold up for most people because it just means they're online for many more hours than they would be if they just used their computer.

On a similar subject, whats the argument for the value of texting? I've heard that its a way to get quick messages across, but whats wrong with leaving and hearing messages? Are we so shallow we don't even value other people's voices anymore? And on top of that, why would you want to type on those microscopic keys? I don't even know how people can physically do that. Am I missing something here or is this simply brainwashing of the masses?

I have a program called windows dvd maker but it doesnt seem to recognize the mp4 files i've created with my hd video camera. when i go to drop the files into the window to create a burn list the program doesnt recognize the files. why is this? do i need a different program? does my video camera automatically happen to save files only in the mp4 format? can i change that? is there a free dvd burning program i can download?

I am curious about the sites that pay you to write material that you can then sell through the site. I know of a lot of sites, but they pay very little per article. Do I have to compete with lots of people for very little money? Is it worth the trouble? Can it be developed into something full time? Please don't respond if you're advertising something.
