  • How different or similar are a gyoza and a pierogi?

Would you consider these two things similar or different? Could a pierogi be called a Polish gyoza?

They originate in different cultures, are made with different ingredients and taste differently.

But they have the same general idea of putting common food inside dough. Opinions?

  • Connected to router, sending and receiving packets, no internet?

I just moved into a place that has a wireless router with an unknown number of computers on the network. When I wake my computer up from sleeping it is connected to the network but with no internet access. The last few days restarting my computer has fixed the problem but now I can't get it to work at all. Currently I am broadcasting wi-fi from my phone and I am connected with internet so the problem isn't that I can't connect to any network.

While I am connected to my home network I send and receive packets to/from my router. I get an IP address. I can't ping any sites. I can ping myself. It sometimes does work. I don't have access to the router or modem. There is a bridge that extends the signal. If you need more info let me know.

  • Why will my '94 Jetta not start?

The car is in pretty good condition but I left the lights on at work and had to get a jump (fine). Brought it home and the battery died again, got another jump. Brought it to a restaurant, ate, drove home (on the highway) ten minutes later the car wouldn't start but it was turning over so not the battery. Left it overnight, started it in the morning just fine. Drove it around to charge the battery, two days later drove it to school, wouldn't start on the way back.

Battery is not dead. Engine turns over but it's not getting a spark or something. I replaced the distribution cap and roter a couple months ago, spark plugs looked fine at that point. Could it be that I blew a spark plug when jumping it? None of them seem loose at all...

Starter, distributor? Anyway to easily check? Thanks...

  • Jetta 1994 burning too much gas. How to fix?

Hey, my 1994 Jetta is burning about twice as much gas as it should. 15L/100km. It has a 2.0L 4 cylinder engine (not turbo). Operating under the assumption that it is not leaking, what could be the problem and how easy is it to fix?

  • How much power do modern laptops draw?

My laptop's charger says 65W on the bottom. Is that pretty much standard? Would a netbook take significantly less? Which laptop style would draw the least power and how much of it?

The point is that the current older laptop is drawing 120W and is draining the battery of the power supply. I haven't taken any physics so I won't understand technical terms but I am passing the info on to someone who will.

  • Out of coolant, major problem?

I drive a 1994 VW Jetta and last night the temperature warning light came on. It was below freezing and I assumed this had something to do with it, but this morning it was still on and I decided to take the bus... Now I have looked and as far as I can tell I am out of coolant. I'll go get more tomorrow, but I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to drive the car a few kms.

Also, was it a terrible idea to drive last night with the light on? Drove about 30 kms and the engine was not overly hot.

  • Old style artsy first letter?

In old texts or books that are trying to look old they have the first letter of each chapter made bigger and with a design or some art or something. Whats that called? And if possible where can I get some images of them?

  • What is a good video editing program?

I need a program that can make minor edits to video files (ie. making clips) and, more importantly, can convert video files. Looking for something free or something mainstream. Preferably free. Thanks!

  • Good for an automatic to be in neutral?

So, I used to drive a standard and I would pop it into neutral at lights and such. Supposedly better for the clutch. Should I do the same with the automatic that I now drive?

  • Why is my CPU running at 50% all the time?

AVG says I have no viruses and I'm inclined to believe it since there isn't anything odd happening. i do have a whole bunch of random crap processes, but even when I shut those all down and just leave the essentials running (explorer.exe, dwm.exe and some random stuff that doesn't total more than 14,000K), my computer is still running at over 50%. Now in the bottom corner of the task manager it tells me that there are 64 processes running. On the list it shows maybe 20. How can I see the rest?

I mean, I'm not on a super computer or anything, but with 4GB of RAM and a dual core (crappy one, but still) I should be able to run Windows 7 64-bit without that much trouble shouldn't I? Does it matter that my HD is 85% full?

  • What is some good new music?

I tend to like most types of rock and some alternative. I guess that covers many genres, so just throw out some of your favorite songs!

  • What are your favourite songs?

I'm just looking to get some more music for my computer. It's stagnating a little. So let me know some of your favourite songs or artists.

(Also, Firefox spells it favorite but yahoo spells it favourite. Go Canadian spelling!)

  • How do I measure the angle between two points?

I have two points (points being X, Y coordinates) on a 2D plane. The points are not predetermined. How do I find the angle? In radians or degrees.

  • Am i just asking questions people can't answer?

No one seems to answer my questions. For example the last two questions I asked were:

Are there free programs that would let me and some friends all use video chat with each other?

    And:

Looking for a program that will let five people use it online at once. Like a paint program or anything really.

Maybe there aren't those types of programs but there really should be somebody that knows of a maybe.

  • Where can I get snes and DS roms?

When I have tried downloading from a couple different sites I get them in the .7z file format instead of whatever format they are supposed to be in. Same thing with DS roms. Is it just the sites I am using? Is there a converter? And no they aren`t in a zip file or anything like that.

  • Who knows about Bismarck (the guy not the ship)?

Why would the regent of the time promote him to Prime Minister? Just because he needed the force of will to break that stalemate? Did he think Bismarck would break it in his favour?
