  • Has it ever been illegal anywhere in the U.S. to perform certain sexual acts, even among married couples?

I am definitely inviting any experts or professionals to give their say. I'm not looking for answers like: "Ummm....I think it's", or "umm...I'm pretty sure it's", or "dude, what are you worried about". I understand the "down to earth" and the "common-sense" aspects to it, but there is a reason why I am asking

  • Why do so many Christians reject the idea that "God helps those who help themselves"..?

....even when referring to other Believers? Can't God's blessing and power work through you more as you choose to live life in turning from what you know is wrong, doing what is right, and seeking and trusting in God in all things? Rather than purposefully being stagnant and effortless until God "moves" you to move, or puts your back against the wall....

  • Is it possible to have jaundice without it being an underlying disease?

I know there are plenty of wbesites I can go to that describe these things, but so much of the time, like recently, it never really answers my question. It may have been sooner, but since 2006, I've noticed a yellowish tint in the whites of my eyes, but no noticeable other side effects. In 2010 I got tested for Hep C since I was working with a guy who has it, who as a maint. tech got knicks on his hands, and as an OCD like thinker, it drove me nuts. Either way, the results came back negative (meaning I don't have it) :) However, my diet you could say has been pretty poor for more than a decade due to eating out just about every meal, including fast food joints, and even with having a good metabolism, I'm sure that doesn't make up for all of it. It seems as though over time the coloring starts to fade when continuing on a healthier diet long enough, but I could be wrong. I am very sure it isn't HIV, and am hoping it's just been my poor diet for so many years, and am hoping it isn't pancreatic cancer. I am way too young to easily accept that fatal disease. What are your thoughts? Thank you

  • Distracted driving definition?

Anyone know how it really works, in general, in the U.S.? For example, if while driving I perform these tasks: talking to someone in the car, eating, taking a drink of a juice bought at a gas station, changing the channel on the radio, glancing for a fraction of a second at something that isn't straight ahead, while still being able to concentrate on driving, being safe, and courteous, am I still breaking the law (with exception to that which we all know is illegal, like using hand-held cell-phone if banned in state or texting while driving, DUI, etc) ? I know that no one can expect anybody to just literally remain silent, esp. with kids, only look straight ahead or at signs regarding destination, keep hands only on steering wheel or resting areas, and never glance to the left or right, so it's definitely a silly question from a common sense outlook, but whenever I try to see legal definitions, or read articles about it, it's like that's the impression I get, to where even using common-sense and courtesy aint enough, if anything, it ruins your common-sense. What do you guys think? Anyone know how it really works? Thanks

  • Thoughts on sleep patterns...?

I suppose we've all heard about the getting 8 hrs of sleep every nite, and I know that being sleep deprived isn't good, but I had a temp. once work with/for me who was in his 40's and believed that if you get yourself used to a particular pattern, that's all that matters. His was, and probably still is, 4 hours per night(or sleep cycle). What are your thoughts on it? Any professional opinions as well? Thanks.

  • To any of you who believe in a creator or higher power, do you really believe we are capable of...?

destroying something we didn't even create with our own hands? Should we be so legislated from that mentality as well?

Don't get me wrong, I believe in good stewardship, as well as not being wasteful, but I'm tired of the pendulum swings and a lack of some being open to other scientific viewpoints. What are your thoughts?

  • Question about the "Fairness Doctrine"?

I've heard a bit about it now. It seems it has something to do with talk radio. What does it actually in-tail?

  • Question about plagiarism?

Is it considered plagiarism if I for example, draw a picture of something someone else created for practice, speak an opinion, a saying or a principle to a friend or co-worker that was inspired or influenced in some way by someone else or their work, or make a photocopy of something and give it to someone else for info. that might help them in some way, as long as I'm not doing it for puposes of making money, or even doing it as an assignment for college(not in college, but still)? Just wondering.
