  • What is the content subject for 6th/7th/8th grade social studies in Chicago, IL?

I'm switching teaching from 10th grade plus in Indiana to 6th,7th,8th grade social studies at a Charter school in Chicago. I'm adjusting to Common Core, but was having a hard time finding the actual content standards for grades, so I'm wondering what course is 6th grade, what course is 7th, and I'm told 8th grade is US History/Constitution.

  • My front bike tire came off my brand new bike, how do I put it back on or is it broke?

When I picked up my bike from the store I noticed my front tire really wasn't moving, kept getting stuck, and wasn't driving straight. I thought maybe my bike fender was rubbing, but when I went to bring my bike in from the rain, the front tire literally was off the bike. I'm kind of confused as to how this happened and the frame seems wider than the tire bolts. I'm assuming whoever put it together put it together wrong, but it's huge pain in the butt to go back and return it, plus I got a good deal. I know if I really need to I can probably take it to a repair shop- but I'm tight on money right now. Facts to know: this is my first bike so I have no idea what I'm doing. It's a Schwinn. Is there a fix or does it sound broke? I'm really confused about how it doesn't seem to line up.

  • if I do "first day start" with ortha evra how does that change my period?

So the details on the patch say you can start first 24 hours of your period. My question is if it's three weeks of the patch, and you're supposed to have your period the fourth week off, how is starting with my period going to work? That would mean my three weeks of patches would end 2 weeks before my next period. Does my period just stop now? Or will it come early next time?

  • how do I file a writ of garnishment?

I was issued a judgment in which my ex-husband is required to pay monthly payments. He stopped paying. I filed a show cause, he didn't show up to court. The judge said he would reschedule. In the meantime, the judge told me to file garnishments forms on my own. I looked them up online, but there were several forms, and some of them were requiring account and employee id numbers. At this point in time I am just really frustrated because I have done everything by the book and the right way, and my ex-husband just gets away with everything! Can someone please help me figure out what forms I need to fill out and how to fill them out without that information?

I know I can't be the only person with this issue!

    Helpful information:

I live in Indiana, but the forms need to be filed in Michigan. (so I can't travel back and fort)

I know his social security number, but not his bank account or employee number.

    We have NO contact.

He never shows up to court, but nothing happens.

  • I'm thinking of switching from High School to Elementary, what are the pros and cons?

Currently I teach mostly 9th grade classes. My school is closing and my principal is taking over an elementary school and has offered me a third grade position. I've never taught at the elementary level and am definitely interested, but am not too sure what I would be getting into. How are the lesson plans different? When are preps? Is there anyone else that has switched and what were your experiences?

    Thanks for the input!

  • I need out of my verizon contract.?

I want out of my verizon contract. I already got new phones through Sprint, but didn't port one of them over. I'm curious to know how much it's going to be... I think I paid $200 flat once before about a year ago. The phone I'm trying to cancel was a 2 year contract that doesn't expire until November.

Does any one have any advice, information, or loopholes?

  • What do I do with 1 inch infected/blown out ears?

My ears have been stretched to 1 inch for about 9 months. I recently decided I want to go up. My ears have been really loose, so I've been taking my plugs out at night and not wearing them some days. They tightened up some, but when I decided to go up, I started leaving them in all the time and massaging them with the proper oils and what not. I got my new plugs and tried to put them in and they didn't want to go in... I'm assuming because I let my ears tighten back up so much. I gave them some time and got them pretty loose again, and the new plugs still wouldn't go in. I then tried a couple layers of ear stretching tape to see if that would help, and it just made my ears angry and red. I gave them about a month to heal and worked on stretching them and STUPIDLY tried to tape again. At first it was fine and my ears seemed large enough, but then my plugs feel out in my sleep. So I put them back in and added a couple more layers of tape. I took them out in the shower and tried to put new ones in.... didn't work. My ears are now flipped inside out, have white pus spots, cracked in some places, and completely discolored. My hair brushing against the outside of them hurts. If I put my plugs in (which are now way too small, but the next size is too big) it causes blinding pain and they bleed and pus leaks everywhere. If I leave them out, they flip inside out and dry up and crack. I have oiled them, soaked them, etc. So... do I put the plugs in or leave them out? And don't say go to a doctor please, they have no idea how to handle this type of thing.

Plugs in or out? And if they scar from blowouts does it make it harder to keep stretching?
