It is not a company car. He is not a salesman. We are just paying his monthly lease and coding it to expense. I believe this should go on the W2 as taxable wages. Not sure which box to put it in. He does not keep any kind of log to show it as a business auto.

An employee was out on disability and the company paid her portion of the health insurance. She paid the company back by check. Her W2 only shows what was deducted from her paycheck. How would she claim the amount she paid back by check. Does it have to go towards medical expenses or is it reducing her gross pay like the paycheck deductions would. How does she report this on her tax return?

I am a playwright, mostly for my own productions. I have been approached about writing a One Man Play for an entertainer who has been in show business for many years. It would be based on his autobiography and it needs to be written in a play format. This is not an A-List person. He is well known in certain circles, but not a household name. I have not done this for someone else before. Any ideas on what I should charge or how to go about this? Contract? progress payments? Royalties when it gets produced? Looking for ideas before I quote it.

I own a consulting business. I am able to bill the customer for the meals emplyees eat while on the job. I do not make a profit. I can only get paid based on receipts I produce. Are these meals only 50% deductible for my business? or are they considered Cost of Sales and 100% deductible?

I am not a business. I don't have liability insurance. shouldn't this be covered under their insurance? I am only doing one performance. It may not be cost effective to have someone write a policy for one show. besides, not sure if I could get it anyway. How do I proceed?
