How to get rid of loose skin/fat under chest area?
I've been working out a lot lately and everything is firming up really nicely except for right under my chest. I noticed that I was getting either a fat roll or loose skin under my bra about 2 years ago and I figured that would go away once I started working out but it hasn't. Do you think it's just a matter of time? Is there a specific muscle I'm not targeting? It's not really chest but it's not really abs so I don't know how to target that. Suggestions?
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agocoding delay differential equations in matlab?
we need to code the equation
y'(t) = b*y(t-T)/(1+ y(t-T)^n) - c*y(t)
where
b=.2
c= .1
n= 10
T=6
We are either getting a flat line for our graph of the solution or we are getting errors with undefined variables. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoUsing low voltage US toothbrush charger in Germany high voltage plug w/o a converter?
okay... so, I have a converter/adapter for US to Europe electrical appliances BUT it's will only fit into a flat outlet. For some reason, all the outlets here have an outer cover and then the outlet is actually sunken in so my converter doesn't reach the outlet.
However, I do have just an adapter that will fit. I'm wondering--since I'm just trying to charge my electric tooth brush, not using a hair drier or anything--is it ok to plug my low voltage charger into a high voltage outlet without a converter? Or will the battery in my charger like explode or something. haha
Thanks! 10 points for best answer.

1 AnswerGeography1 decade agoOrganic Chem- How can a bromine halogenate a primary carbon without energy?
I was taking this practice test and I don't understand a question about bromination. Here is an image of the question and the solution:
http://tinypic.com/r/2n9i2qo/7
I understand how the Cl bonds to the tertiary carbon. But then how does the Br replace the other OH without some source of energy? I though for primary and secondary carbons they need energy.
Also, How does the second bromination occur without any radical or OH group? It just kind of attaches itself somewhere. Can it just replace a hydrogen like that with out any addition substances?
3 AnswersChemistry1 decade agoHelp with Thermodynamic (ChemE) question-- Heat capacity?
A steel casting weighing 2 kg has an initial temperature of 500 degrees C; 40 kg of water initially at 25 degrees c is contained in a perfectly insulated steel tank weighing 5 kg. the casting is immersed in the water and the system is allowed to come to equilibrium. What is its final temperature? Ignore effects of expansion or contraction, and assume constant specific heats of 4.18 kJ/(kg K) for water and .50 kJ/(kg K) for steel.
I'm stuck because it seems like I need some other measurement--maybe for Q? I think work=0 because it's an insulated system but that doesn't get me very far. And how do I use to specific heats at a time?
1 AnswerEngineering1 decade agowill my whitening gel react with a mouth guard?
my mom gave me some extra 11% carbamide peroxide whitening gel after she switch to a 16%. I don't have a whitening tray (because it's freaking expensive) but I do have a mouth guard that is form fitting. I'm not sure what it made out of but I was wondering if it would react with this peroxide gel. Do you think it's safe?
1 AnswerDental1 decade agoHow quickly should I see results under the following conditions and workout routine?
I'm a young adult, 5' 9", 160ish lbs last time I check. I have a pretty athletic build but going to college, I gained about 7 lbs and I'm unhappy about that. I've started exercising with the following routine:
running 3 non-consecutive laps around the neighborhood (each lap is 1.1 miles)
rowing 1-2k on the erg
doing a few ab workouts (crunches, leg lifts, plank, I mix it up)
How long should it take for me to start seeing results. I've been doing pretty well with my exercises (counting that I've never been able to run a mile non-stop in my LIFE) but I get discouraged really easily want to know when I should see some slimming.
Also, if anyone has any tips on how to lose weight most efficiently with running/erging that would be fantastic. I read about interval running which I'll try to do today, and obviously, I can't eat more than I burn.
Oh, and I'm unsure, are you supposed to run everyday if you're a relatively fit individual? Or 3-4 days? I've read different things.
2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoHelp with a polyprotic acid problem?
the questions states:
Cresol Purple is a diprotic acid with pKa1=2.0 and pKa2=8.4. The fully protonated sprecies is red, the amphiprotic species is yellow, and the fully deprotonated species is purple. What color is cresol purple in 1.00 M H3AsO4? Arsenic acid has pKa1= 2.25, pKa2=6.96, pKa3=9.29. Use any necessary approximations to solve, but you must show all work.
Please, I don't even know how to start. Don't give me a hint. Give me a solution.
1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoError installing Microsoft Office 2007?
I'm getting error 1402. I've looked up a LOT of things on the internet but I'm really hesitant messing with my registry. I started to but I kind of chicken out.
I have windows 7-the 64-bit versions. I'm trying to install Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 (legally) and it's not working. It shows this error:

I had to try everything to uninstall the previous version because it mysteriously stopped working. I'm not sure if I even fully uninstalled it.
HELP!
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agomy entire windows office 2007 suite is trying to reinstall itself suddenly?
it was working fine, this is a legal and registered copy. Now it's trying to reinstall itself. I was just having issues with CS3 suite having a licensing error (also a legal copy) so I had to wipe my system of all Adobe products and reinstall but I don't think that should factor into Microsoft Office. Whats wrong? What should I do?
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoBook for becoming Buddhist for independent searcher?
I want to look into becoming Buddhist but I'm not really sure where to start. Internet sources say to join a support group but I'm too far from any to go so a book seems like the next logical step. I'm not sure what to look for though because I already know about the 8-fold path and such so I don't really need a text book on Buddhism. I need more of something about the practices of Buddhism. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCan anyone tell me what this children's movie is with no words but classical music (NOT FANTASIA!)?
I know this might be a long shot but it was something I watched in my childhood (I'm 18 now) and it was classical music animated. I think one of the skits was called "a man with a hat" or something about a hat. The animation kind of looked like Peter Reynold's illustrations but I looked and I can't find any wordless movies by him.
HELP! I'm getting sick trying to remember this!
if it helps there was another skit of a fiddler walking through a field and all these little animals were following him and when they got excited rainbowness came out. haha, I can't describe it better.

1 AnswerEngineering1 decade agoWhat white noise sound do you use?
I was talking to my roommate and we were curious what percent of people listen to each sound on a white noise machine while they go to bed.
I guess the options are:
Water rushing of some sort (either a babbling brook or the ocean)
A forest
A heart beat
Other
We're mostly curious about the heart beat one. Apparently this is on many machines but we wonder if anyone uses it.

2 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoAlternative/additional theories of evolution/Human Origin?
Yes, I know Darwinian Evolution. I know a lot about it. What I'm wondering, is there any theories out there that is alternative or addition to this theory.
For example, there is a theory out there that humans could have evolved from water mammals. This doesn't particularly DISCOUNT Darwin's theories. It just discounts the theory that humans originate from monkeys in Africa--which is only part of Darwin's studies.
I'm mostly interested in human origin but any additional theories I'd be interested in.
