Does tax form 2350 extend state AND federal tax filing date?
I worked in the state of Colorado in 2009, but then moved to the UK in August and worked there. I realize I need to file form 2350 to ask for an extension in order to qualify for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, but once I do this, does it extend the federal AND state tax, or just federal? If its just federal, can I file state taxes as normal? Do I have to include foreign earned income on state taxes at all?
4 AnswersUnited States1 decade agoI am confused about the waiting period after you get a marriage license in NYC?
Ok, heres the situation - my fiance and I would like to get married in NYC, but we dont live in New York and only have a long weekend Friday, Saturday, Sunday to take care of business. I see that we could apply for the license on Friday and then must wait 24 hours to get married. So, we could get married on Saturday which is fine, but then when/how do we return the certificate to the marriage bureau in NYC? Can it be mailed after we get home? Or would we HAVE to stay until Monday to return it and have it filed on Monday?
2 AnswersWeddings1 decade agoIs there a way to track an airplane's entire route? ?
Not a specific flight number, but a specific plane? Perhaps a strange question, but I'd like to know where a plane is coming from before it reaches my origination point?
3 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoWhat are some romantic restaurants in Washington DC?
I see that this has been asked before, but all the answers are fairly old, so I am hoping I can get some updated answers on this one? Of course, people's idea of romantic differ, so I am not looking for a stuffy romantic place nor do I want to be serenaded while I eat. I guess more of a modern feel with a romantic atmosphere would be ideal. Extra great = nice view, around $30 for an entree, maybe in Georgetown area? Thanks!
5 AnswersWashington, D.C.1 decade agoCan anyone reccommend some good websites for information about immigration to the UK on marriage visa? ?
I am getting a little overwhelmed with all the information I have found regarding the best way for me to move to the UK to be with my fiance. Does anyone know of some sites that are more straight forward (maybe just lays out step by step what should be done) and can be used to supplement some of the confusing info found on the governement websites? Maybe a helpful message board also?
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoDid you wear a jacket or coat today? :)?
I wish there was a website where you type in which city you will be in on a given day and it tells you what to wear.. but since there is not, I will ask you! I am going to be in Amsterdam next week and cant decide what type of outerwear to bring? Assuming, I will be outside, doing a lot of walking around, do I need a coat? Thanks!
2 AnswersNetherlands1 decade agoFrench translation please?
How do you say "We'll be together this time next week" in french? Thank you!
4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoWhat activities (not sights) should we do in Paris?
My boyfriend and I are going to Paris next week and actually want to participate in something rather than just go from site to site and take pictures. We did a Segway tour in Chicago a few months ago and that was fun... I know they have this in Paris too, but what else? Or maybe a cooking class or something? Any suggestions?
9 AnswersParis1 decade agoIn London, what is the large building near Parliament that has a hole in the middle?
Its near the Westminster tube station, between King Charles St. and Great George St.
2 AnswersLondon1 decade agoCan you access the rooftop terrace at the Nemo Science Center without paying admission into the Center?
I read in a travel book that you could visit the terrace for free, but wanted to check this with some locals.. is this possible? (and is it open year round?) If not, any other good rooftop locations to get a good view of the city?
1 AnswerNetherlands1 decade agoModern, larger hotels in Amsterdam?
My boyfriend and I will be in Amsterdam in a few weeks and are looking for a nice (but not necessarily lap of luxury hotel) and we tend to prefer modern larger hotels rather than quaint boutique hotels. Any suggestions?
3 AnswersNetherlands1 decade agoAdvance purchase fare on Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris?
I see on the Thalys website that there is a special fare for purchase 15 or 30 days in advance, but when I go to buy the tickets for my travel (more than 15 days away), I am not offered this fare. Is it like airlines where the "special" fare is just sold out or do I have to do something else to recieve this advance purchase fare?
3 AnswersNetherlands1 decade agoHas anyone tried adding activated carbon to cat litter to control odor?
I just saw something on TV about how activated carbon/charcoal absorbs odors better than baking soda, and I know that Everclean adds the carbon to their litter already. Has anyone used this brand? Does it actually control odor better than others? If you have added the activated carbon yourself to another brand, did you just buy the same product that is generally sold for aquariums?
7 AnswersCats1 decade agoLooking for a short weekend break from London in October. Where?
I am going to visit my boyfriend in England in October for a week and he wants to go somewhere out of the country for the weekend. He's one of those who is very indecisve until the last minute, so I'm going to do some research and then subtly urge him to pick the destination I decide upon :) Problem is... I dont know where I would want to go! I've never been to mainland Europe, so the easy answer would be Paris, but I think hes looking for something not so "cliche". I'd like to go somewhere near sea/ocean, but not just a beach holiday where all you do is lie on the beach... Any suggestions?
4 AnswersOther - Europe1 decade agoIf the first leg of a flight is delayed to the point where you will miss your connection?
I know this is silly, but I am one of those who always likes to have a back up plan when traveling and I try to avoid being on the last flight of the day to a particular destination in the event that the flight is cancelled or missed due to connections... Anyway, I took a chance and am flying from Denver to Chicago and then booked on the last flight out of Chicago to London with only an hour connection time. So, my question is, if the flight out of Denver is delayed to the point where I will surely miss my connection in Chicago, am I still required to fly to Chicago or should United do something in Denver to get me to London?
3 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoAm I missing something re: how to calcuate my interest rate when it adjusts (based on LIBOR)?
My mortgage doesnt adjust until 2011, but I re-read my mortgage documents last night and think I understand it, but am hoping for someone to tell me that I definetly do understand it correctly. So, my mortgage is currently at 6.65%. My adjustable rate is based on the LIBOR index, adjusts every 12 months at LIBOR+2.25% so lets pretend (for the sake of easy calculation) that the LIBOR rate is 3.5%, would my new rate really be 5.75% or am I missing something?
2 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoO'Hare - Domestic arrival, then international departure on United. Which Terminal?
I am flying to London from Denver with a layover at O'Hare (my least favourite airport in the country!), so I am hoping that this map I am looking at is accurate: It indicates that United domestic arrivals will arrive at Terminal 1 or 2 and that United International departures will depart from Terminal 2 rather than the International Terminal 5. Can anyone verify this? I've had so much trouble getting to Terminal 5 in the past; I'd love to avoid it! :) Thanks in advance.
5 AnswersChicago1 decade agoWhat is the best (cheapest) way to travel from LGA to a hotel in Weehawken, NJ?
I know i should have flown into Newark, but have already purchased tickets, so am stuck flying into LGA, but will be staying in NJ. Would cab fare be outrageous? Any shuttles that cross state lines?
3 AnswersNew York City1 decade agoFinding a cab after getting off the Orange Line?
I am flying into Chicago late (11:40), so am hoping to catch the last Orange Line train from Midway to downtown (yes, I know the train only runs until 12:55). The hotel suggests getting off at Lake/Clark and then taking a taxi the rest of the way. How easy (and safe) will it be to find a taxi at that location and time?
