  • Audtioning for a musical...?

I am going to audition for the musical Rent.

The "rules" are. No songs from the musical. 24 bars (30 seconds) and it has to be a pop/rock song.

My only issue is...I can't think of a single pop/rock song! I know once I hear suggestions I'll be able to relate. My range is alto and low soprano....

any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

  • I have had this chronic pain, can you help?

About 2 years ago i had developed a chronic pain in the left side of my back almost directly under my right shoulder blade. It feels as if there is a ball there that pushes when i take a deep breath, stretch or just move the wrong way.

I have visited with my doctor that gave me multiple diagnosis of Pleurisy after taking just a chest xray. I made an appointment with another doctor that went a step further and did a cat scan, sent me to a rheaumatologist and had also prescribed medication. He claims that I may have the Fibromyalgia, but has yet to diagnose me with this. I currently take Cymbalta 60mg for constant pain. But this does nt seem to go away.

I also took it upon myself to visit a chiropractor in hopes of just having a rib that has popped out, or maybe needing an adjustment.

This pain does seem to get more aggravated if I do a lot of work. For instance, i recently moved into my first home and at the end of the day i had felt like i had been run over by a semi.

Is there anyone out there that can relate to this pain. I do have another appointment with my doctor to check up with this pain. I can usually tolerate pain very well, but this is a nagging, constant, dull pain that i am finding hard to deal with on a daily basis anymore.

Any suggestions or information is tremendously appreciated. This is just getting old and i can't deal anymore.

    Thank you

  • Owner Financing option?

My husband and I were propositioned for owner financing by a complete stranger.

This would be our first home, and i'm very interested in checking into this. However, i don't want to be taken advantage of and i'm completely in the dark.

Could someone shed some light as to how owner financing works? What should i watch out for?

  • Trying to pay off debt?

My husband and I are currently attempting to pay off debt without putting ourselves in a financial bind. We don't have credit card debt, the debt we owe is just crap we put to the way side. Unfortunately this has put us in a position that we are not able to buy a home.

There is so much information out there for people who want to pay off credit card debt, but none for people who just have unpaid bills like ourselves. Maybe someone can help me into trying to figure out where we go, and what we do. We DO NOT want to file bankruptcy, but have considered taking out a personal loan and just wiping it out completely.

Any and all advice, direction anything is appreciated.

  • I am an adult female who's decided to go back to school?

I've decided to go back and major in Communication Studies. We all know school is expensive and with me working full time and i have 2 kids, it's even more discouraging because i can't throw as much money into it as i would like. I'm taking my time and only starting with 1 or 2 classes.

Does anyone know of Grants or Scholarships specifically for adult women? I'm not a single mom, so scholarships for single moms won't help.

Any and all opinions or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • i'm thinking about becoming a girl scout troop leader?

Recently I had a bad experience with signing my 5 year old daughter up for girl scouts. So i took it upon myself to get in touch with the person who is in charge and dangled it out there that i'm interested in possibly becoming a girl scout troop leader. I love children, i have a 5 and 6 year old and numerous nieces and nephews. So there's really no lack of experience. My husband is for me doing it, but has reservations as well.

Now this is something i've never done before. I've worked with kids in one aspect or another. But i've never had to actually teach children to do things?

What are the pros and cons of becoming a troop leader? I know the Pros are endless, but if i could get any kind of insight from other troop leaders or girl scout moms it will be greatly appreciated and will probably help my decision a little easier.

    Thank You

  • My daughter had tubes in her in ears over a year ago?

My daughter had her adnoids removed and tubes put in here ears February of 2009. We've made numerous trips to our family doctor for ear infections, outer and inner. She's had constant pain in her left ear. The original doctor who did her surgery has since left town so we resulted in going to our Family Practice dr. And have been told it's allergies, it's an outer ear infection and the pain is normal. We have scheduled an appointment with an ENT. I'm a little scared for my daughter who is 4. Has anyone else had a simlar situation? Where their child has still had the same symptoms as before the surgery?

Please, any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Pain under my right shoulder blade.?

For about a month or more now i have had this pain that is occurring, what seems to be, under my right shoulder blade.

It hurts when i take a deep breath or cough. I can't even lay flat on my back. It really hurts! I don't smoke and my job is pretty easy...kinda stresful but easy. I can lift both my children and not feel it at all. I've been to my doctor on it. She gave me meds for pleaurisy...which didn't work. so i'm assuming it wasn't pleaurisy. I've had a chest xray done...nothing exciting there. i've been to the chiropractor about 5 times. We did a couple of adjustments and a deep tissure physical therapy..no help at all. Actually made it worse

She now has me going to a pulmonary specialist.

Has anyone else experienced such a thing? Let me know what you've found out?

  • Are you ever too old to learn?

I'm wanting to go back to school, but i'm completely and utterly terrified. I know there are people older then myself (nearly 30) who go back and get their degrees and move on. I'm worried that its going to get too hard and i'm worried that i'll just give up.

But i'm terrified of failure. I've never had a strong support for things that i try and do. My husband who is 100% supportive has said that i could quit my job and go at it full time. it's just a 2 year degree for dental hygiene.

Soo do you think i should just go at it?

  • My daugher is always sick!?

She's 4. and it seems that whenever she's around someone with just a common cold...she gets sick 10X worse. I feel like i have to budget at least 50 bucks a month just for prescriptions for her.

I've made an appointment to have a physical done to make sure she's where she's supposed to be for a 4 year old. I'm sick of pumping her body full of antibiotics just for these illnesses to come back. She has tubes in her ears but has had an ear infection of some kind...swimmers ear twice, outer ear infection atleast 6 times and even a couple of inner ear infections. I really am worried about her well being and have also scheduled to get her back into an ENT (ear, nose and throat) doctor.

Has anyone else been through this? And what did you do?

  • I want to make a difference?

I will be 30 years old next year and have come to the realization that i haven't really done much with my life. I don't want to start my own business, i want to help people. This past year i have participated with 2 different causes and enjoyed myself soooo much. In February I did the Polar Plunge for the Special Olympics and then just a couple of months ago i did a walk for the March of dimes. Both very good organizations. I kind of want to do start something, but am finding myself stuck, because i don't know where to start. I'm not involved in a church and i'm a stay at home mom.

I really don't know where to begin. So that's where I ask for your help. Where do i start? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • My 6 month old miniature australian shepherd is very underweight.?

I adopted her from an individual and got her into the vet today. The vet is a bit concerned because she is so underweight. She weighed in at 10.6 lbs today when she should weigh closer to 30 lbs. The vet told me this by going off the puppies frame size. We suspect that she was neglected an/or abused by the previous owners. So she is very skittish.

So we need her to gain weight. HOW do i go about trying to get her to gain weight steadily?

  • My 4 year old had tubes put in her ears January 29th.?

She had tubes put in January 29th of this year. SHe is now having a yellow discharge and complainng of pain in one ear. She was placed on an antibiotic (Bactrim) this past friday, June 26th, for a skin infection. I guess the antibiotic is pretty heavy duty stuff so the doctor did an ear culture and didn't place her on any other antibiotics.

What could possibly be wrong? Ear Infection? I'm not sure what to expect and the doctor probably won't be getting back to me till monday since his office is closed Friday for the 4th of July.
