I love horses. Been riding for 5 years. I am 15 and have an adorable little Arabian named Lemmi. She is as spunky as her name is. I LOVE CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Marg Helgenberger is my idol. I have an Arabian mare. Try to ride as much as posible with my "G" lol. I always say lol when I'm online even if it's not funny.

  • Any opinions/suggestions on universities?

    Hello,

I am a senior in high school, and I am putting the finishing touches on my college applications. I am applying to/have already applied to Wilkes University, NYU, The University of Scranton, King's College, Columbia College, U Penn, and Bucknell. I live in PA, and I am not sure on whether I want to go away or not, but either way, I would like a 3-4 hour traveling distance at most. Here is some information about me:

    -Top 10% of class

    -Treasurer of Class

    -Treasurer of NHS

    -AP Calculus

    -AP English

    -Advanced courses

    -3.8+ GPA

    -Obsessed with math

    -A plethora of other extracurriculars.

    Biggest downfall:

    -Near 2000 SATs.

My question is this: Do you think I am setting my goals too high, and do you have any suggestions for universities for me?

    Thank you :)

  • Help! My horse's hoof is starting to crack!?

    Hello,

One of my little mare's hooves is starting to crack vertically. You can see a 'dent' (for lack of a better word) from the bottom to the top of the hoof. It is slowly starting to crack from the bottom. What can I do to fix this? Are there any products I can put on it (maybe a type of putty) to stop it/fix it/slow it down? Is this a job only for a farrier?

Thank you so much! I have never dealt with a cracked hoof!

  • Is this something I should deal with?

I have been a mysophobe since I was in the 4th grade. I had barely noticed that I had a fear to touch doors, drink from water fountains, use public restrooms, etc until it was pointed out to me. I had always assumed that most people were afraid of those things as well. As I progressed into high school, I became worse and worse. I have a portable hand sanitizer with me at all times, refuse to breath when someone else coughs/sneezes for 30 seconds, and am afraid to come in physical contact with someone who I do not know their routine hygiene standards. I am not to the point where I shut anyone out of my life who is already in it, but I do avoid many social activities like bowling and parties. I have been researching this more and more and have discovered many other people share my illness (if you will). I am concerned with the fact that I may come across as rude. However I truly do NOT want anyone to ever feel rejected or insulted by my behavior, but at the same time how do you deal with something that has become as routine as brushing your teeth every morning. The true question is, How do I handle this? When I come into contact with people who I do not know, and I HAVE to either shake their hand or hug them, I get chills and then immediately put on a dollop of hand sanitizer. I am concerned with this as being rude because I have been reading that many people believe mysophobic behaviors come across as rude. I would just like to know what your opinions are on this, and if you live with/ are a germaphobe, how do you handle it?

    Thanks :D

  • Horse experience (need 20 char.......)?

My friend and I share a barn. There are 3 horses there and there is one horse that will be coming here soon. I own one horse while she owns the other 3. My point is, she doesn't have time to take care of the one. She is a 25 year old appaloosa mare. Rides western and needs some attention. We were wondering if there is anyone on this site who lives in PA that doesn't know a lot about owning their own horse who might want to learn. We are willing to teach you about how to handle horses correctly, groom them, feed them accordingly, ride, saddle, bridle, halter, etc.

My email is lizer1994@frontiernet.net if you would like to contact me.

    Thanks :D

  • Why won't my horse eat all of her grain?

My little 14hh mare gets about 1/2 cup of grain (cup as in 1/2 of a coffee can). When I first got her she was on sweet feed for the winter and several weeks ago I switched her to a low starch feed but still the same amount of it. She goes outside for about 3-10 hours (depending on the day) a day. I give her 2-4 flakes of hay and she for the most part will eat that up and will drink her water. Recently though she hasn't been eating all of her grain. When I let the horses in they all get straight to their grain, but not her. When I go down to the barn the next day she will have about 2-3 hand fulls of grain left in her bucket. I'm not sure if it's the fact that she doesn't like it or what? Thanks!
