  • Multiple Myeloma, Agent Orange,Vietnam Vets, and Government Responsibility?

Lost my father to cancer which the VA admits may have been caused my agent orange exposure during his tour of duty. Is there a group of people like me who want to make sure that the government is held accountable for these deaths. Maybe a chat room type website? Not interested in financial compensation from the government, rather public admission of responsibility

  • Vietnam Vets, agent orange, cancer deaths and government responsibility?

Lost my Father to Multiple Myeloma. He was a Vietnam Veteran and Veteran Affairs admits that agent orange can cause it and even compensates families of those who have lost loved ones. Where do I go to talk to others about holding the government responsible. Maybe a chat room or organization devoted to this cause. Thanks, and much love to any and all who are going through this.

  • where is a good place to get shipping bags for bolts of upholstery and drapery fabric?

I need to ship a few bolts of fabric and can't seem to find a company in the northeast U.S. which supplies bags for bolts about five feet long and no more than eight or ten inches in diameter to a non-commercial account. Any suggestions?

  • Where can I find a used 1990 Ford Mustang 5.0 for under $4k in New York?

I know there is someone out there with a stock 5.0L Mustang that they would like to sell. Preferably owned by a responsible adult and not some dumb kid who beats on it and swapped out all the original parts for aftermarket crap. If you know a classified autos website that deals with these I would appreciate it.

  • Why must I let hot food cool to room temperature before putting it in the fridge?

I recently read that after cooking a pot of hot soup, it should rest on the counter until it reaches room temperature before putting it into the fridge. I understand that putting something hot into the fridge will raise the temperature and compromise the other food, and am familiar with the 40-140 degree "danger zone" where bacteria thrive, but is there something else to it? I put a hot chicken parm hero straight into the fridge the other day and when I ate it the next day, I got violently ill.

  • would like to find more bands that sound like...?

Silversun Pickups, The Cribs, The Strokes... I guess any indie rock that doesn't sound too much like pop music, a little edgier, and please don't answer Modest Mouse or Franz Ferdinand. Thanks.

  • Can you help me prune my new avocado plant?

It is in soil and about 12 inches tall. It has sprouted 5 tiny leaves at the top. I know that an occasional pruning is necessary to control the height but can't find any info on the web on exactly how to...

    1. choose the right leaves to cut

    2. choose the exact place to make the cut

    3. use the proper method of making the cut (pinch them off, cut them off with scissors?)

If you know a good website with instructional diagrams, my plant and I thank you.

  • I would like to buy a blown glass Santa Claus Christmas tree ornament for my father.?

My father was not really a collector, but accumulated many blown glass Santa's for the Christmas tree over the years. Since his passing this July, I thought we might just hang those on the tree, but I would like to get him a gift of a really beautiful blown glass Santa, even though he is no longer with us. If you have any suggestions/websites it would be appreciated. Looking for something traditional, maybe German or Norwegian.

  • I finally got my avocado pit to sprout in a cup of water, but it just split up the center. What do I do?

When I tried to take out one of the toothpicks which was suspending it in the water, the pit cracked almost completely, exposing the center of the pit. Should I put it in soil? or just leave it alone? The roots at the bottom are only a couple of inches long and nothing has emerged from the top yet. Thanks.

  • Can a 32 year old male join the U.S. Air Force?

  • How much is an old Singer Sewing Machine worth?

It's a Singer 41:13 in used condition, but was constantly and professionally maintained over the 20+ years we have had it at the upholstery shop. Has the original cabinet (laminated wood workspace with metal legs) The owner, my father, passed away and was probably the only one who knew what they are worth. I tried e-bay but no luck. Thanks.

  • Model rocket question.?

I have a cardboard tube that is 24" long and 3 1/4" inches wide and would like to make a model rocket out of it. I need an engine/motor with a 1" diameter that will provide enough thrust to make the project worthwhile.I'm using 3/16" balsa for the 3 fins, and will probably make the nosecone out of polystyrene foam, as I only intend to launch it once (no parachute or wadding to increase weight). She should weigh in at about 16 oz. at the most when complete. Which engine should I but/order from the hobby shop? Electric ignition.

  • Looking for bible passages to read to my dying (unconcious) father. Something uplifting.?

Things that would be appropriate for both my dad, if he can hear them, as well as my family as they sit bedside. He's a Vietnam veteran with cancer and I don't thing Valley of Death scripture is appropriate at this time. Thanks.

  • What's the best way to sell baseball cards online?

I acquired a bin full of baseball cards and other baseball collectibles, but am not a fan of the sport. They are probably worth something because they are in very good condition and they are all cards of players that even I am familiar with. Would like to get a website to help me price them, and another to sell them. Would it be better to sell them all together, or individually? Thanks

  • Just bought some vinyl from 1972. Band: Randall's Island. Album: rock and roll city. Know anything about them?

Polydor release PD-5026. Album cover is signed on the back "Dear Bimbo, best wishes from Randall's island, Allen Herman." (drummer) Also contains same message on glossy band photo found inside by surprise. Garage sale find, worth anything? Record is flawless, jacket is a little worn with a small water stain.
