  • Pictures keep disappearing on USB memory stick?

I have bought a USB memory stick to transfer all my photos from my pc to the stick. At the start, they are all copying fine, but after around 10 mins, if I go back to the folder, it says 'empty folder' and all the photos have disappeared. However, the space on the memory stick is still showing that photos are on there (was a 32gb now 26gb free space) yet no photos are there. Any ideas what keeps happening? The same is happening on a brand new stick that I bought yesterday and both have been formatted.

  • Burning calories - Cycling or Walking. HELP?

Can somebody explain this for me - got my new bike today and went on a quick ride taking 10 mins, total of 1 mile and burned off 93 calories according to Map My Run on my phone. Just been on my usual dog walk (riding this time) with my dog, we went 1.68 miles in 22.18 mins but only burned 43 calories? When I do the same distance but walking, I burn off 186 calories, so whats gone on? Help please x Does it mean I use less calories riding my bike because its quicker as am sure my heart beats a lot faster so should burn off the same, if not more as I tend to walk average pace. Thanks.

  • How to disable auto updating on Galaxy Ace S5830?

The internal phone storage on this phone is rubbish and very low, and my phone is now rejecting incoming message due to low internal phone storage. I have now deleted some applications, leaving me with around 43mb of space. However, my phone keeps installing updates to things like maps, gmail etc and taking up all the space again. Anybody know how to stop the phone installing anything?

  • How to use an indoor training lead to stop dog chasing cats?

Can anybody help me on to how to exactly use an indoor training lead with my 6 month old GSD? I have had her for 8 weeks now and she is STILL chasing the cats who I am seeing less and less. I have a dog trainer from the RSPCA where I rehomed her from coming out to see me on Saturday. I told her that when the cats are near, she does not really bother with them until they want to run away, then its 'chase' time - she told me to get an indoor training lead and recall her if she goes to chase the cats. I now have one of these, and it is long enough to reach from everywhere downstairs and into the back garden. However, if she is in the living room with me, with her lead on, and she bolts to go outside when she sees the cats through the window, do I just grab whatever lead I can and tell her to 'leave' etc....... and is she to keep the lead on ALL the time I am around with me constantly holding the other end? Any advice would be great. Thanks

  • How long does it take to 'Clicker' train a dog?

Started to clicker train my 18 week old German Shepherd yesterday. Started by clicking then giving her a treat. Did this a hundred or so times over the course of the day. I have now started to train her to sit/down using the clicker, then when she does the command I ask, click then treat straight away. However, she will do the command without the clicker so am just wondering what is the point of clicker training and have I just wasted my money? Thanks.

  • New German Shepherd puppy showing aggression with my own dog?

After a meeting on Friday with my own dog at the RSPCA kennels, they got on brilliantly, chasing each other round the paddock. She is 18 weeks old, and was brought to the kennels by an RSPCA inspector after he found they were being neglected. The dog I picked was the biggest of the 3 and was the most outgoing/confident when we all met together. However, since getting home, she has started showing aggression towards my border collie. They were fine at first, brilliant with me and the kids. She is being very jealous and dominant over my current dog Benji. If he is coming to me, she is darting and growling at me. She has had a good few attacks on him, teeth bared and snapped him twice, but Benji has not retaliated at all, just submitted himself on the floor, now he is petrified coming over to me. Is this normal for this breed, and what should I do to tell her off as the last thing I want is my dog getting hurt. He is a lovely soft affectionate dog, but is now scared to come to me incase she attacks him again. I know today is only day 1 but want to get this sorted sooner rather than later if possible. Don't know if it is purely a dominance thing as the 2 dogs must get their rankings in order, but will be so sad if anything bad comes out of this. Thanks.

  • What health problems do German Shepherd's commonly have?

I am rehoming an 18 week old German Shepherd who is coming home with me tomorrow. She is from the RSPCA so has already had her first vaccination and her vet check. They have also been checked over (hips) and say everything is OK and cannot detect any problems. I will be getting her insured after the 4 weeks free insurance runs out, but my current pet insurance offers 2 different policies. One is Accident and Injury only (£5.00 per month) and another is Accident, Injury and Illness (£21.00 per month). I know they can have problems with hip dysplasia and my own Border Collie was diagnosed with this condition when he was 8 months old but since giving him Joint Care Sticks every day, you wouldnt know he had anything wrong with him. Just wondering if the pup DOES develop hip problems, at what age can this happen etc. I was very shocked that my collie got it so young as its not very common in collie dogs. Any help will be great. Thanks.

  • Best food for 18 week old German Shepherd Puppy?

After having my 14 year old lurcher recently PTS, my 2 year old border collie has been pining. So I gave in to my tears, and visited my local RSPCA where they had 3 18 Week old german shepard puppies from a neglection case. I am picking her up tomorrow after a brilliant introduction to me, my kids and my dog and couldnt ask for a better match from any of the other puppies/dogs we met. The home she came from had the mum, dad and 3 puppies and were all being fed ADULT Wagg food, and obviously gave the pups diarrhoea. They are being weened onto Hills Puppy food for Large breeds but they said you can ween them on to any puppy food (does not have to be large breed) so I was wondering is there any good puppy foods that I can feed her dry (as my dog eats dry food anyway). She is quite underweight but is a large dog already so need something that will give her all the benefits that she needs at the moment. Thanks x

  • My dog still limping - Dislocated Hip?

I have a Border Collie who I have had as a rescue dog from 8 weeks old. At 9 months he was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia which devastated me. However, after researching this condition, since giving him a Joint Care stick once a day, you would never know anything was wrong with him. Nearly 2 weeks ago, he was playing on the park with another dog, and next minute, he was limping very badly and could not bear weight on his right hind leg. I took him straight to the vets who did X-Ray's and could find no fracture, dislocation etc so sent him home on an anti-inflammatory medicine (metacam) and was asked to go back in 2 weeks if no better. He is still limping, although not as bad as he can now bear weight but when he stands still, his right hind leg does not touch the floor and he will occasionally start to 'hop' when walking around, so as not to put any weight on his bad leg. I will be taking him back on Wednesday as I cannot see him getting any better, but could he have dislocated his hip due to his foot not touching the floor and been missed on the Xray? Really worried as he is my baby and could not bear him having to live with this for the rest of his maybe short life. Thanks x

  • Will turning off radiators upstairs in the day save gas?

I am using a lot of gas at the moment and looking at ways to cut down. In the day, I hardly ever go upstairs so I was wondering if I would save gas by switching the radiators off by the knob on the side or if it wont make much difference? I don't work at the moment due to a recent operation so off work long time so not used to using all this gas as it used to be off in the day but now I am home 24/7 most times. Any help? Thanks x

  • Program to make my own Photo collage with?

I am looking for a program where I can add about 8 photos to an A4 piece of paper to be printed and framed. Found somebody doing this and charging 10.00 but all they do is take your photos (tagged their name via facebook) and send you a link to a printable photo. Would love to do this myself and save some money at the same time. Thanks.

  • Can a company register a default against my name without sending me warning letters first?

I was paying off 2 credit cards and thought one was paid off so cancelled the standing order in August 2011. Today I received a call from a debt collecter and Capital One have not only passed my account to them, but also registered a Default against my name. As I cancelled the wrong standing order, I have now reinstated the arrangement with the debt company but am so angry having a default against my name considering since August 2011 I have not had 1 letter or 1 phone call to say my payments were not being made. Can Capital One register this default and not warn me first?

  • Kitten keeps doing her business in my living room behind the tv?

She is nearly 5 months old and I have had her from 8 weeks. The litter tray is in my kitchen, always kept in the same place, and I even change and wash it out every day. But she still keeps going behind my TV to do a wee or a poo. I have cleaned the area, disinfected it, cleaned with a proper pet behave spray to get rid of the odour, and have even cut up lemons to keep her away but she is still doing it. I have been told to put peppercorns over the area after cleaning it today but dont know if that will work. Will be uncomfortable for her to stand on anyway. Is there any other tips incase the peppercorns don't work?
