1998 Dodge Neon, I turn on the headlights and my console panel goes dark and my speedometer isn't working....
When I turn on my headlights at night, my console lights go off and my speedometer, gas gauge, and heat gauge won't work. Sometimes the blinker and high beam indicators are lit. If I turn off my console lights, my gauges come back to life. (but then I can't see them in the dark) Would anyone have an idea what may be causing this? I don't want to go to a mechanic right away, because, lately, they've been trying to rip me off on everything including oil changes.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhat do you think I should do?
I love cookies. I tend to bake one or two dozen a week. Lately, my neighbor's kid has been finding ways into my house to get cookies. I tried to stop him, but he'll even break locks when he really wants one! I told his mother, but she didn't care. She said I should just let him have some. She won't bake and if I'm going to have cookies around, I should give him some because he starts whining to her when he sees me with them. She points out that I do give cookies to kids in the neighborhood, but I don't think that matters. Those kids ask me and they don't destroy my property. Not to mention, I make the cookies for me, not him. I think his mom is being irresponsible and that the kid needs to be scared straight. What should I do? Leave a door open for him to get cookies? Make him his own batch? Stop making cookies? Or report him to the police?

25 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoLegalize Prostitution?
1. They do jobs many won't do
2. They're just trying to make a better life in America
3. They love America and it's laws, but it's sooo hard to work legally and still live
4. America couldn't run without these women (and men) on their backs!
5. It's America's fault that they are prostitutes! America makes them illegal. America fines and imprisons them for doing illegal activities. But then they are back on the street the next day. So obviously the people in power want prostitutes. Don't blame the ho, blame the rich 'John' paying for her/him!
I'm not for prostitution any more than illegal immigration. Hopefully I've made a point though.
23 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWhat horrible jobs are illegals doing?
My grandmother picked cotton
My uncle is in construction (and the only non migrant worker on the site)
My aunt is a Janitor
I've worked in fast food, on farms, hotel housekeeper (again, only native born at the hotel)
My father has worked in Factory Maintenance
My brother has worked floor clean up in a Tyson Chicken Factory
So WHAT jobs are immigrants doing that Americans won't??????
13 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWould you please clarify your reasons for or against illegals?
I'm doing some research. I would like to know your reasons for/against illegal immigrants. Nothing too wordy. Numerate if at all possible. Thank you.
20 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoSomething to discuss.....?
As of July 2006:
10-20 Million Illegal Immigrants
2 Million Homeless Americans (700,000 long term home loss)
7.2 Million Unemployed Americans (1.3 Million long term job loss)
Answerers, draw your conclusions!
5 AnswersImmigration1 decade agoWould you sell your soul to the Devil to prove God exists?
Pretty straight forward question. Just want to see what you say. If the Devil would prove to the whole world that God (in whatever shape God comes in) was real, without a doubt left in anyone's mind, would you sell your soul to him?
29 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMint Flavored Oxygen?
I just went to the gas station. I got my gas, a coke, and a snickers bar. Right next to the register was this big can with a nozzle on it. Flavored Oxygen!!!! I know about Oxygen Bars, but at what point did it become flavored and packagable for mass marketing? What does this indicate about our culture? Would you, have you bought it? Please help me understand this, as I am at a complete loss.
1 AnswerOther - Social Science1 decade agoFossil Question #2?
Complex fossil forms can most likely be found in:
a. the same rock layers as simple forms
b. the oldest layers of the fossil record
c. the most recent layers of the fossil record
d. all sedimentary rock layers
2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoFossil question......?
Occasionally, "living fossils" such as the coelacanth are found; these organisms appear to be little changed from their ancestors preserved in rock strata many millions of years ago. Such organisms often occur in ocean deeps and in soil and desert environments that change less often over time. This is an indication that:
a. although gene mutations may be common may be common, there may be little selection among individuals already adapted to a uniform environment
b. these organisms do not have the same high mutation rate of most organisms
c. by chance, these organisms' mutations are all in alleles that do not affect morphology
d. the Hardy Weinberg equilibrium prevents these organisms from evolving very fast
e. there is extensive inbreeding in such organisms

1 AnswerHomework Help1 decade agoHow do you feel about forks?
Before the 11th Century, the difference btwn refined and common people was the number of fingers they ate with (3 & 5, respectively). Once forks were invented, the Catholic Church opposed them as unnatural (it was an insult to imply the fingers God gave you weren't good enough for food). People were ridiculed as effeminate and pretentious. It was 800 years before they were accepted.

7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoHow many wars has a religion caused?
Another question asked how the USA could be ruled by a religion that has caused more wars in 2000 years (presumably more than any other), so my question is how many wars in history are caused by a religious faith? Who has the most?
