I've tried this problem a couple times and keep coming up with the wrong answer. Can anyone show me the correct way to do it? [please include the steps].

Problem:

1/3 (y + 4) + 6 = 1/4 (3y - 1) - 2

I know what the answer is supposed to be, but I can't seem to get it. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have a 1 year old female, spayed, Bengal cat. I bought blinds for my window about 2-3 months ago and about 2 weeks ago she decided that she wanted to bite holes in them. This is definitely NOT ok. I've tried saying no, I've tried moving her immediately when she does it, I've tried spraying her with a water bottle, but all to no avail.

Now it's come down to this causing me incredible irritation because it wakes me up when I need rest for work. Is there any ideas on how to get her to stop?

I know this is probably going to be a "take her to the vet" type thing but I want to check with you lovely folks first.

I just brought my kitten home Friday from the breeder and she has a runny nose, she sneezes and she has lots of eye goobers. Now I knew she had a runny nose before because the breeder told me and said he took her to the vet (he wouldn't let me pick her up until she was better). He told me the vet suggested saline spray and said it was getting better, so I could pick her up.

Well when she meows it sounds strange (she is a Bengal kitten) and she sneezes a lot. Do I need to take her back to the vet and get another opinion? Or is it just something she will get over?

Also, she scratches a lot, fleas?

I have two guinea pig cages (cleaned quite often!) and we have a fly problem. I need to get rid of the flies or the guinea pigs need to go, and I really don't want that. I rescued one from possible death and another from the pet store, they mean a lot to me so I don't want them to go. Any ideas on how to get rid of these damn flies?

I have an AIWA stereo system (3 CD changer, 2 tape decks, karaoke, game, remote, all cables/wires, owners manual, etc) and I'm wondering what stores would buy this? I tried Craigslist but kept getting those irritating scammers and I don't like eBay. Any ideas?

Same with a Xbox, Nintendo 64 and a PowerTower CD holder. They all have everything with them and are in great condition

I'm playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live (not on a 360!!!) and sometimes it lets me play through a full game other times it gives me a message saying "Connecting to Game..." and then "Re-establing Connection...". I'm playing the Big Team Battles because I don't have the maps for the others (apparently).

Why is it doing that and what can I do to fix it?

PS: it doesn't do this on any of the other games I play on Xbox Live =\

I'm trying to sell 2 acoustic guitars and an electric but I don't know what to price them at.

One is a FirstAct, never been used.

Another is an Excel with a few dings from a friend, it comes with a carrying case.

The electric is a Squier Stratocaster in excellent condition with a gig bag, cables, amp and electronic tuner.

Could you help me price them?

My boyfriend has one with a new engine and new tires and is thinking about selling it. I'm at work (my parents own a collision repair shop) and we have the Kelley Blue Book system installed but I can't find the car in there to price it.

Anyone know how much these go for?

My boyfriend and I are pre-planning various details of our wedding (yes, boyfriend. The guy's name was Fireball Jim and they just had the two mothers light white candles then the bride and groom took the candles and lit a large white unity candle. About two weekends ago I was sitting in the driver seat of my mom's car waiting for her and my dad after we had lunch with a family friend (my bro and boyfriend were in the back seat) and my mom walked over and was all "Are you pregnant?". I blinked at her and said "No, why?" She responded that my stomach was hanging out.

I admit I'm not skinny and I was *sitting* down. So I thought she was just confused.

But a few days ago I was sitting down in my chair at home and my dad asked me the same thing!

I'm just now finishing my period and I'm safe when I have sex (there are a few incidents I can think of recently that could have *possibly* gotten me pregnant) but I don't know how else I could be.

I mean I noticed my stomach was slightly bigger but I don't think I am...what should I do?

I'm looking into buying any of the above year Chargers (the new one is HIDEOUS!) but I wanted to get some info on it. I heard it has horrible gas mileage? I want an automatic (can't drive stick, ha). Basically just the gas mileage, what to expect mechanically, up-keep, price ranges for a good one, what to look for, etc.

my mom says we can't have one because we don't have a fenced yard and we live on a hill where there are wild animals (ie: deer, raccoons, foxes, etc.). My boyfriend and I have offered to build a kennel for the dog in a spot where there is room (either on my small deck [only my brother and I have access to it] or right infront of said deck) and she didn't say anything. My boyfriend has 14 dogs and knows how to build a kennel, what else can I do to convince her?

I'm very capable of caring for a dog, I help with my boyfriend's and also I have many pets of my own (2 guinea pigs, 2 parakeets, 3 goldfish).

I've had my male parakeet for almost a year and bought him a mate a few months ago. I came home tonight and found the female on the bottom of the cage dead. I took her out of the cage and buried her. When I came back he was pacing all over the cage and chirping really loud which is extremely unusual for him. I took him out and have been holding him and letting him roam around my room like he used to when he was alone but I'm worried about him because of his behavior. My mom said we'll buy him a new mate tomorrow but I don't know if that's too soon or not. Is it bad for a parakeet to lose its mate? I know they aren't love birds but his behavior is worrying me. (it's 6:36pm here so...no pet stores and no vets are open so I can't call them)
