  • TTC: Wife unusually late, not pregnant?

The Mrs. used to be like clockwork in cycles of 27 or 28 days. She's never late.

We've been ttc for the past 5 months. This time she was late and we were hopeful. We took a couple hpt that were negative, but were still hopeful because she was so late. Today, she had her period: 6 days late.

Does anyone know the cause of this? There hasn't been any stress above the usual.

It's seems like a cruel joke that she would be so late for the first time when we were ttc.

  • How many women have negative pregancy test but actually were pregnant?

The misses had a bunch of hopeful symptoms (like unusual nausea and heartburn), but she had extremely painful cramps in the middle of the night (very unusual for her). Today or tomorrow would be period day. She took a hpt this morning and it was negative.

How many women have a negative test on the day of or before period, have the test be negative, but then actually be pregnant?

  • Why can't opponents of Prop 8 respect Democracy?

Now that Prop 8 has passed, why can't their opponents respect the voice of the people?

The country has checks and balances and the check on the court is constitutional amendment. Califorians exercised that right. Why can't you respect that?

Why must liberals try to use the courts to create law and subvert the democratic nature of the country? Why are they so scared of people exercising their rights?

  • Why hasn't Obama paid his campaign workers?

Why, with so much money in donations, would Obama not paid or underpay his workers?

So he thinks that working families should pay people not to work, but then he, himself, won't paid people that worked for him?

Now that Obama has been election, obviously the masses of people that helped him aren't important anymore.

People will quickly become disillusioned with "The One."

  • Has the Election become like American Idol?

Have we elected someone solely on a flashy style and charming rhetoric?

Have we forgot that the President makes some very crucial decisions, especially in foreign policy?

How will Barack handle having to make concrete decisions? He will have to sign a bill or not sign it. He can't straddle the fence.

  • Will Barack be tested as Biden predicted?

A couple weeks before the election, Joe Biden predicted that an international crisis will develop deliberately to test the meddle of Obama. Do you think this will happen now and, where will it come from? (e.g. Russia and a former Soviet republic, China and Taiwan, Iran?)

  • Any American Surprised to Hear "My Country This Of Thee"?

The old American hymn has the tune as "God Save the Queen". I realized this a few years ago when I was living in Britain, but I was surprised at the time.

Anyone else who didn't know notice this?

  • China's medals lopsided towards gold!?

So many of the larger countries have a relatively balance of golds, silvers, and bronze. Not China, who won more golds than bronze and silver combined. Is this indicative of bias?

  • Why do so many people use flash in a stadium?

Going to a sports event or a concert, you'll see thousands of flashes going off, when the people who are taking the photographs are 100-400 feet away from what they are taking. Why?

Do that many people think their little flashes will have an effect on a photo so far away? Do they not realize that the flash usage will actually hurt their ability to take a photo? I can't imagine that many people forget to turn it off.

  • Film or Digital? - Blind study - You be the judge?

So I took a couple similar pictures, one with a digital camera and the other with film. I am soliciting opinions as to which is better. In order not to promote bias, I'm holding back which is which for now.

  • Flash drives files disappeared!??

I frequently use flash drive where I keep several files that I use at both home and at work. I dutifully safely remove it every time. Yesterday, it worked fine. I plugged in this morning and every file is gone!

The drive works, but every files has disappeared. It shows 128 MB of free space. I then put a file on it to test it to see if it was a windows problem, and everything worked okay.

I downloaded several file recovery programs and none of them recovered files (except the test file) showed up.

Has anyone even heard of something like this happening? I googled but couldn't find any similar problems. Does anyone know what could have happened?

  • Does Anyone else think Castro is dead?

We hear all these stories about "Castro resigning" and Castro going on vacation. They are just a newspaper article supposedly written by him. The US media report it as truth without any speculation. Not even a hint. A maybe. a possibly.

He hasn't been seen in 19 months. If Castro was lucid enough to write an article, wouldn't show himself? Make a radio address?

He's either dead or had a stroke and is such vegetable that he doesn't even know his own name.

  • Why do "honor killings" routinely occur in Islamic societies?

An "honor killing" is when a father, brother, or cousin of a girl kills the girl because they suspect that she has had sexual relations with a man. Even when tests confirm her chastity, she is still killed. The Islamic community seems to look the other way when this happens. Is forgiveness not part of the Islamic religion?

    Why are they so intolerant?

  • Do Muslims Worship Mohammed?

Muslims claim to worship Allah, but blasphemy in Islam is insulting Mohammed. It's a crime punishable by death. You can insult Allah all you want in Islam without punishment. Only insulting Mohammed is considered blasphemy. In Christianity or Judiaism, blasphemy is insulting God, not Moses or Mary.

    Can someone explain this?

  • Why Can't People Handle the Global Warming Challenge?

I asked people who believed in global warming whether they'd bet their next paycheck (or welfare check) on what the weather would be like next Tuesday. I didn't get any takers.

So why would we spent all sorts of money betting on what the weather will be like 50 years from now?
