  • We are not finding a cure for my son's allergies?

My son is four years old. He is having allergic cough and cold for last six months. The worst part is they are not getting better. Due to continuous cough and cold he had three ear infections in last couple of months. He is taking allegra, singulair, steroid nasal spray everyday still they are not able to stop his allergic symptoms. Doctors also ran blood and skin allergy tests on him. They came out negative. We suspect though that these are mostly indoor allergy of dustmites or similar allergens

We have also tried Zyrtec in the past. It did not work as well.

Just wondering if somebody can give us a different insight or direction of treatment.

    Please help.

  • My 3 month old takes around 22 oz formula?

    Hi,

My 3 month old son takes 4 oz formula per feeding ... and feeds around 6 times in 24 hours. Around twice a day he cen't finish his 4 ozs ... takes about 3 ozs. I avoid to forcefeed him ( rather I can't ... he'll simple push away the bottle ) In US all the sites say that he should be drinking more.

Is there anybody who's child drinks the same amount ?

Also, how much gap should an infant take at night ? ... My son takes 5/6 hour gap. He drinks his milk around 4 am but he doesn't seem to be hungry in the morning and takes his milk after another 5 hour gap ... at around 9 am ... Is that ok ?

    He's gaining ... but not a big baby ... 13 lbs at 3 months.

  • Recurring baby acne?

My 3 month old month son has got baby acne on his face. He got it first when he was three weeks old. Doctor told us not to use any treatment. The outburst of acne was severe ... it lasted for several weeks. In fact his face is not completely clear eversince. Now two days back he's again getting same outburst of acne all over his face ! Doctor told us to ignore it this time too.

I know that baby acne clears on its own between four to six months. But I'm really irritated to wait that long. Firstly because those acne produces itchy sensation for my son. Secondly, till now there's not a single day since he does not have acne on his face. I can't wait any longer to take close up snaps.

Moreover these are not just few bumps on his face ... its quite severe !!

Please help ... does hydrocortisone cream help ?

  • My 2 month old son takes only 3 oz milk ... is that fine ?

My 2 month old takes only 3 oz formula per feeding and he takes 5-6 feedings in 24 hours. I think thats less because all the possible sites or forums say that he should be taking at least 4 oz ( 4-6 oz ) per feeding and should drink milk 5 to 7 times a day.

Is that too less ? Is there anybody whos baby takes more or less the same amount ??

He's gaining well ( touchwood !!! ) ... his weight is around 12 lbs ... but if doctors say that he sd be taking 2-2.5 times of his weight ( 24-30 ozs of formula ) then he's currently taking only about 20-21 ounces .... Is that ok ???

  • Is baby formula that bad ???

Breastfeeding is almost impossible for one of my friend due to severe latching problems, prolonged sessions of brestfeeding if it happens at all ( more than an hour ) and wounded nipples. She is down to baby formula for her one month old ... but dying with guilt and depression every day.

Is it true that breastfed babies don't fall ill at all ??

Is baby formula that bad ... that it shouldn't be given at all ???

Help ... Does anybody's child thrived on formula solely and has had no health problems ???

  • How to bring my 20 days old son on right eating and sleeping schedule ???

    Hi,

My 20 days old son keeps asking for milk every half an hour. He drinks one/ two ounces of milk at a time. Right after feeding he doesn't seem satisfied. He keeps being fussy, wants to be taken in the lap. If we offer him more milk , he refuses to take it at that point and within half an hour/ one hour starts asking again.

Does the same thing at night.

I'm really finding it very difficult to cope up with. I've read that babies generally demand milk every two/three hours. What a relief it would be ... I will not find this phase of parenting as stressful as I'm finding it now.

Please give me some suggestions or tricks that would help me bring his eating schedule on time.

  • I can't breastfeed my baby on breast?

Its the hardest part of motherhood till now but I'm not able to breastfeed my 10 days old son on the breast. He is not latching on. Whenever I take him for nursing ... he simply starts screaming and eventually we have to offer him bottle ( cup is not working too. Since he wants that 'sucking' thing and keeps crying all day ) I'm expressing milk as much I can but I know that this is extremely tiresome for me and I have to use at least some formula through the day.

    What should I do ???

I've talked to lactation consultants. My son has no physical problem at all. Its just that he's lazy and fussy. I've tried using shield, diff. positions ... nothing is working. And I can't see my son crying vigorously.

    Please help.

  • When does baby's head drop in pelvis during pregnancy ?

    Hi,

I'm 33 weeks pregnant and my baby's head hasn't dropped down yet. Sometimes I can feel it in the upper part of my stomach; sometimes I can feel it sideways.

My doctor told me that the possibilities of head dropping down are very less after 36th week and that we should consider turning the baby manually or go for C-section if we see no change in position after 36th week.

All the elderly relatives in my family however are saying that baby can turn the head down even eight-ten days before delivery.

Please share your knowledge. Is there anybody who's baby did take the head down position very late in pregnancy ... say around 38th or 39th week ????

Will be grateful to receive some genuine answers.

PS: This is my first pregnancy.

  • About Indian Toursist Visa?

    Hi All,

I'm planning to call my mother in the coming summer to the US. My husband is on H1 visa here and we're sending all the documents to sponser my mother's trip. My question is : Does she need to show any of her assets in her visa interview. I'm fearing that they'll reject her a visa because she doesn't have a job, she's a housewife and unfortunately she doesn't have a house of her own too. She stays in a joint family and my grandfather owns the house ... Only points to prove that she intends to come back to India are all her family including her husband and her younger daughter are in India and both have their jobs here.

All Indians ... please share your experience ...and help !

    Only serious response is expected

    Thanks.
