  • Dead Island - Diamonds, sell or keep?

So I got a few diamonds by now and wondering if I should sell them for quick cash or keep them. Does anyone know if there is a weapon-mod or something that needs diamonds?

  • Anime with the themes of 'graffiti' / 'skateboarding' / 'civil disobedience'?

...or similar? If someone can add a bit of steam- or cyberpunk into the mix, that would be perfect xD

  • When does a 'cult' become a 'religion'?

Maybe I should stop drinking but the last piece of drunken philosophy shared with a friend (btw: don't drink and drive and don't drink and start talking philosophical topics with someone who actually studies philosophy) left me wondering:

When does a 'cult' become a 'religion' - is it just the number of followers, acceptance by the general population, acceptance by already established religions or simply a matter of registering your 'cult' as 'religion' at some branch of the government (and probably proving your are not harmful to the public)?

  • Suggest some lighthearted/funny SciFi novels?

Thanks to your recommendations I've found several awesome Sci-Fi novels - at that time I was looking for dark and gritty, cyberpunk-ish style.

Well now I'm back and this time I need some funny, lighthearted, not entirely serious Sci-Fi.

The only example I can think of is - of course - The Hitchhikers Guide (and some Shadowrun novels but I guess those weren't *intended* to be funny).

What I'd really love is what Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels are for fantasy - funny, witty but with a story to tell and not just plain silly.

So, fire up your thinking-caps and give me some titles! Please?

  • What is the oldest piece of religious scripture of a religion that is still being practiced?

Just curious, if you know where it is kept, what language it is in and on what it was written even better.

Also keep in mind this is about religions that are still in practice by a size-able amount of people so although interesting and informative a single tribe somewhere most people would have trouble finding on a globe doesn't quite cut it.

  • Need... More... SciFi...?

Thanks to the current weather situation (snow, ice and more snow), public transportation and the resulting 'spare time' I find myself in dire need for more books to pass the time - so as you may gain from the title, I'm desperate for some SciFi/futuristic novels.

I'm especially a fan of cyberpunk: Preferring dark and gritty over clean and optimistic.

Some novels and authors I enjoyed:

    Neuromancer by William Gibson

    Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan

    Singularity Sky by Charles Stross

    Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson

    Gridlinked by Neal Asher

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!
