Several of my co-workers practice Islam and they are, each and every one of them, remarkably wonderful, passionate moderate Muslims. We talk about these topics regularly and I have learned so much and gained such respect for the TRUE Islamic faith as a result.

However on this, the anniversary of one of the saddest days in American history, I am inclined to ask if the very ideal of Wahabiist (radical political fundamentalist) Islam is at its heart, the foundation of the anger and rage that its practitioners have unleashed in the past half generation? Their beliefs and practices are so depriving, cold and depersonalizing, that the believers themselves become nothing more than the anger and hatred with which they are indoctrinated.

I understand the foundation of the hatred being based on western beliefs and practices, that's not the point. The question is, now that this has been set in motion, is there anything other than its own momentum of hate that truly fuels these fundamentalists?
