Would you expect a Creator capable of making the universe out of nothing to be visible?
If God were visible, wouldn't he be material and finite, a created being? If so, how could such a being create the universe out of nothing at the beginning of time?
Atheists often mention God's invisibility to deny his existence, but isn't invisibility consistent with existence outside of space and time?

10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould Jennifer Keeton be forced to renounce her Christian beliefs on homosexuality or be expelled from school?
Attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund filed suit against Augusta State University Wednesday on behalf of a counseling student told that her Christian beliefs are unethical and incompatible with the prevailing views of the counseling profession. The student, Jennifer Keeton, has been told to stop sharing her beliefs with others and that she must change her beliefs in order to graduate from the counseling program.
Augusta State ordered Keeton to undergo a re-education plan, in which she must attend “diversity sensitivity training,” complete additional remedial reading, and write papers to describe their impact on her beliefs. If she does not change her beliefs or agree to the plan, the university says it will expel her from the Counselor Education Program.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre homosexuals bullying Christians by calling them bigots and homophobes?
Homosexuals are up in arms because peers call them queers or f*gg*ts, which is wrong. But in this forum, homosexuals and their fellow travelers continually call Christians bigots and homophobes for expressing disapproval of sexual sin and trying to protect real marriage from sham marriage. Fair or hypocritical?

Once the Mormons practiced polygamy; now they are unapologetic defenders of genuine marriage over counterfeit. Do they deserve credit or blame for their successful efforts in favor of amending the California Constitution with Proposition 8?
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes the crisis with Nebraska's "safe haven" law support the claim that "it takes a village"?
Under its "safe haven" law, Nebraska has become a place parents can abandon their children with impugnity. Is the "village" prepared to take over the work of parenting after marriage is downgraded to include any relationship and ends special honors and responsibility for potential parents? Is the state prepared to take over the unpaid work of parents in a brave new Obama world?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat happens if we try to love our neighbor without loving God?
Matt 22:36-39 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
What happens if you try to practice the second greatest commandment, to love your neighbor, but reject the obligation of the greatest commandment? I will be looking for examples.

Barack Obama claims to be a Christian, but he worked for partial-birth abortion and infanticide as an Illinois state senator. Is this consistent with Jesus' prayer for establishing the kingdom of God?

15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould Jesus agree that a man should be stoned to death for gathering wood on the Sabbath?
Numbers 15:32-36: While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. Then the LORD said to Moses, "The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp." 36 So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Note that Jesus himself was criticized for healing on the Sabbath, and he taught that the Sabbath is made for man.

20 AnswersElections1 decade agoWould a Christian legislator work against a law requiring medical care for babies who survive abortion?
This law, called the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, passed the US Senate by a vote of 98-0. It was supported by NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and every Democrat then in the Senate. But one prominent Democrat, then a state senator, fought tooth and nail to defeat this bill. My question is, would you expect a Christian legislator to insist on the the right to neglect a child after birth?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWas Planned Parenthood right in 1963 in saying, "An abortion kills the life of a baby after it has begun"?
The pamphlet also informs the reader that "[abortion] is dangerous to your life and health. it may make you sterile, so that when you want a child you cannot have it ... [in comparison] [b]irth control merely postpones the beginning of life."

25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do the sacrifices of a husband and wife differ from those of pretenders to marriage?
Marriage is a tough decision for actual mating couples in the 21st century. Cohabitation offers an immediate attraction. Why do mating couples think long and hard about committing themselves for better or for worse?
In contrast, as soon as a liberal judge imposes a newly invented "marriage," hundreds of pretenders jump at the chance to do some play-acting. Why do they act in such haste?
