  • Any info on a cat giving birth to 5 kittens (1) month ago, but now she is so SKINNY... Does this happen?

I guess I'm wondering is this normal. I there something more that I should be doing for her? I leave food down around the clock for her right now, especially since shes nursing. She was so fat when she was pregnant and now extra skinny. Any information would be welcomed. Thanks...

  • When do I introduce kittens to solid foods? Their own litter box? And move them to a little more space?

They will be (3) weeks old on Wednesday. They are already pretty active. Mom is still with them. There's (5) kittens, I have found a loving home for (3) of them so far. Thanks for any help.

  • I have taken in a mom and her (5) kittens, which were 2 weeks old?

This kitten is a stray I fed everyday for the last 6 mos; I rescued a kitten in same area. More comfortable with me than I thought, she gave birth to her kittens in my car! It happened in like 20 mins. Next thing I knew, I was a Grandmother, then I did not know what to do, so right now they are with me; 5 kittens, the Mom & my Bradley. I have decided that I will keep the Mom and have her fixed. I have a home so far for only one of the little ones. I was just hoping to have time before the next heat to have her done. I dont tell many people what I am doing, they think I am crazy! The few I mentioned this to told me to take them to a shelter, right now, but I could not.

One more question. She is a outside cat, will she soon be trying to get outdoors? So far she has not attemped. She will sit in the window sill with my kitten. I've been worried about this too. My Bradley does not go outdoors.

    Thank you!

  • How long before a cat that has kittens go into its next "heat" cycle?

I am fostering the mom and her (5) kittens, which were 2 weeks old yesterday. Really hope to have her fixed before the next cycle start.

Any help would be great. Thank you!

  • I took it upon myself to foster a stray & her kittens until they no longer need the Mom.?

They will be 2 wks old tomorrow. When will I have to get litter and food for them. In the meantime I am trying to find happy homes for them. I live in a studio apt, right now it's working out, but when they start getting around... I fell in love with cats 8 months ago when I picked up a little sick kitten in a parking lot. I have my Bradley, who gets along pretty good with the Mom cat, this cat comes from the same area where I found him, and was always with me when i went to feed some strays in the area. I am going to keep the Mom. Just need to know how much time do I have b4 all hell breaks loose in my tiny apt.! Any info would be wonderful. Thank You!

  • Update on kittens the gave birth to (5) kittens on passenger side floor of car!?

All that gave me feedback, Thanks sooo Much! Well, I did not take them to the shelter as of yet. They will be 1 week old tomorrow. I did not trust the shelter that i attempted to take them to. they stayed in the car for (3) days before I figured out how to get them out without scarring the Mom. I put all the babies in a cat bed, and the Mom... It was touch - n- go for a minute. When I started for the apartment the Mom grabbed one of the babies and jumped out! Scared me! I ran on inside with the babies got the other baby and Mom... Mom ran into the hallway lookingg for her babies, I made her follow me into the apartment, set them up very comfortable in the bath tub, close the shower curtains andthat'ss where they all are now. Mom come out hangs out with me and my kitten (Bradley) a stray that I rescued 8 months ago. The first night though she gave me a scare, I went into the bathroom and Mom was laying there with only (2) kittens, the other (3) were nowhere to be found. Now I'm thinking the worst, did she eat them, kill them, oh my where are they?! With flash light in tow, I found the other (3) under my bed, I put them back with Mom and it's been heaven ever since. Again thank for all your help!

  • A stray kitten which I'd been feeding for the past few months gave birth in my car last evening!?

I still have them in the car. Shelter does not open till tomorrow. Kitty and kitties are doing fine, but what should I be doing, or not be doing?

It happened so quickly, the only reason why I know something was because I heard the little squeal of one of the babies.

  • My Bradley drinks lots of water and pees a lot.?

Is this okay? Or is it a sign of something not good. He's seven months old. I just need to know, a kitten drinking lots of water, is it the beginning of some sort of illness. He has had all his shots. Been neutered, is truly loved. He will go to his water dish and practically lay down comfortably and just drink and drink. And since noticing this, I see in his litter box that he is also peeing as much. I don't see any signs of any physical issues. He still does all of the usual kitty things.

His normal lovable self. Just want to make sure nothing is wrong. This is my first kitten, so I am not aware of many things in regard to kittens. Any info would be great. Thanks all!

  • Should I make this kitten my own?

6 months ago I rescued a kitten, beaten up and bruised. b4 picking up this kitten I never had kitty contact. Now I just love them all. I couple of months later, a beatiful little kitten roaming all alone, same area where I found my Bradley...Very Sweet kitten, I went a got food and water and feed her and she was hungary; I could tell she belonged to someone. Now everytime I came so did she. One day it was a heavy rainy night and she was out in the rain and was going to be rainning for a couple of days. I decided I would bring her home with me until the rain stoped, I probably kept her for almost a week. I decided I would bring her back let her out and if she left and went on OK, she kept coming back hanging out with me, while doing this the owner appeared... And I knew her, this was a young land that had told me a few weeks earlier that she had kicked her cat out, but I had never seen her cat. She was excited to see her, I asked how could she even had kicked out such a Sweet kitten? So I told her in bad weather I would pick her up and bring her home with me, so if you dont see her, shes with me. Long story I know, short, the kitten is just outside, never indoors anymore, she just hangs out with all the other stray cats around there. Again, terrible cold rainny, I went to the area where I know she may and there she was shivering against a wall, she saw me and ran into my car into my lap, and just curled up there, again I took her home till the weather let up. She loves it at my place, but after a while, she gets very antcie to be outside. Her owner has no problem with me keeping her. She and my kitten gets along GREAT! My kitten does not go outside. Will I regret trying to make her an indoor kitten? What can I expect from her if outside is what she really want? I my kitten will be netutered this Friday, cost $50.00 bucks, including most shots ($55.00 for female). I am ready to do this for her, but will she make me regret it? She is so sweet. My Bradley is not jealous of her, and I still treat him special. Should I go for it? Any postive input would be great.

    Thanks!

I go everyday. twice a day and feed the other cats and kittens.

I know this is a long one... (i just previewed it) PLEASE READ and help ME... Again Thanks

  • Is catnip edible? Bought a toy that can hold treats or catnip. Is is ok 4 kitten to eat catnip?

I got a coupon for free catnip. I was looking for one of the toys that you stick the catnip in it and close it back, but instead I found a toy that holds treats or catnip. So that means the catnip can come out and he may eat it, is it okay for him to eat it? Thank you.

  • I will be having my Bradley neutered next month. ?

I was just reading some info re healing and mood after wards. Some of the info was unnerving, I am away from home 11hrs per day. Will he need me to be with him until he's better. How long is recovery time? He's a really good Baby right now. Is he going to change? He is 5 months old, and a sweetie pie. Is he going to be in a lot of pain? I think its going to make me sad to see him down; and will he still like me when we are done with this. I adore him just the way he is now. He is an indoor kitty, but I think he would just love outside; not an option, I live in a apartment complex; he knows nothing about being outside by himself; however I do occasionally take him out on a leash.

Any info will be helpful. Thank all for your assistance.

  • Does 6 years make a cat a "senior citizen?

While reading of a problem about a 6 yr. old cat, on of the responses back was that at the age of six the cat could be senile. Do their years add up like dog years? If so, how many? Like 7 years to 1 for dogs.

I have had dogs in life all my life, so I do know a bit about them. I now own my very first kitten, and have been reading everything I can to learn more, more, more about them. I adore my little Bradley!!! (4months old) I can not even understand WHY I never got into CATS!! I have a lot of catching up to do.

  • Is it possible to train a kitten a walk on a leash.?

Bradley rides with me everywhere & enjoys it... When i leave the house I like to bring him with me. But everything scares him and I want him to be secure when we're out.

  • My little kitten likes to ride in my car, in the back , in the window like a bobblehead or stuffed animal. ?

He's very comfortable there. Isn't this unusual? I am very careful with him. Windows closed, doors locked etc.

  • My little Bradley has a round pecan size growth on his little left chest/shoulder.?

Any idea what his might be. I have a vet appointment next week, he does not seem to be in any pain from it, I think it bothers me more than my Bradley. I just want him to be ok. He just so little I hope it's nothing serious. He's almost 3months old, had his first vet visit already, had a couple of shots, and will get the rest next week. Any information on this matter anyone? Thanks, Bradleys' mom.

  • Do kitten have a kean sense of smell as do dogs? Had dogs all my life, never knew I could love a kitten!?

I am having my first experience of owning a kitten; age about 3months old. Looked to be abandoned from its Mom; or was getting a bit roughed up by the other kittens, this one was the smallest and looked like it had been beat up. Now, little Bradley is MY BABY!
