If you could bring one ballplayer back to life...?
like the guy on "Pushing Daisies", and either ask him one question or tell him one thing before he dies again, who would you choose and what would you ask him?
18 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWho agrees with me that Stanford is the greatest football team ever?
Jim Harbaugh - greatest coach ever.
Tavita Pritchard - Sure Heisman winner.
Don't even bother with the rest of the season.
Fight On!
6 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoIf your team is not in the World Series, who do you root for?
Do you root along league lines? (National vs. American?) Do you simply watch the games without a rooting interest? Or do you do as I do, pick a team to root for to make it more fun? (Sometimes that can be tough to do, and usually ends up with me rooting more against a team I dislike rather than for a team i like.)
26 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhich Canadian rule should be added to American football?
Although I mainly watch American football (makes sense since I'm from the US) I sometimes see a CFL game. I want to know what rule the CFL fans think would change the NFL the most if it was adopted.
12 AnswersFootball (Canadian)1 decade agoIs a walk truly as good as a hit?
In my mind, no, simply because a hit provides the opportunity for the defense to make a mistake. The only possible exception would be a bases loaded walk to win the game. Any other opinions?
24 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWill Steve Trachsel help the Cubs?
My beloved Cubs have acquired Trachsel from the Orioles. Good move or a waste?
16 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWho else thinks that Jerry Lewis should?
hold a telethon for Michael Vick now that he won't be making that $100 million?
5 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhy would Orioles manager Dave Tremblay?
not use a position player to pitch late in game 1 last night? It's something that, while not real common, is probably done once or twice a year in the big leagues. I would have thought that because they were playing a doubleheader, he would have rather saved his bullpen for game 2. Was it pride, stubbornness or stupidity?
4 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow is it that we can go...?
from not hearing a thing about poor little Matt having to pay taxes on his ball for days, but then when one person asks a question, dozens more seem to pop up almost instantly? Mob mentality or a lack of originality on the part of the people asking?
3 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWho was the first player to have his birth date written on his uniform - month and year ?
I also believe he's the only one to ever do it. First correct answer wins, tell me the player's name, the number he wore and for what team.
1 AnswerBaseball1 decade agoWhy is Michael Vick sorry?
Is he sorry that he was involved in dogfighting, or just sorry that he got caught?
23 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoMIchael Vick fans - what do you think?
For weeks now, the Vick supporters have been using the "innocent until proven guilty" method of supporting him. The other thing that seems to have been thrown out a lot has been that this was all racially motivated. Now that it appears that he is going to plead guilty to avoid more charges, do you think he is still innocent? You all seem to have disappeared for a while. Or is it that you are trying to come up with some other way to defend his actions? Just curious.
13 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoIs Tiger Woods strictly a front runner?
I have to add, there is no doubt in my mind that he is the greatest golfer ever, but I noticed something about his statistics in majors that got me to thinking. He has either had the outright lead or been tied for the lead 13 times going into the final round of major tournaments, and has never been beaten in any of those cases. He has won 13 majors in his career. Therefore, he has never been able to win a major without having the lead going in to Sunday. Why do you suppose this is?
7 AnswersGolf1 decade agoWhite Sox fans - who do you want in the booth?
If given the choice, would you rather have Steve Stone for the rest of the season, or will you be happier when DJ is back with Hawk? And why?
7 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow many base hits can a team get credited with in an inning without scoring any runs and how would it happen?
Very tough rules question - first right answer with explanation gets the points.
21 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhat player currently in the baseball Hall of Fame is the least worthy of being there?
I've seen the question posed very often about who isn't in that should, and just thought this would be an interesting counter point to it.
10 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoSick of Barry questions ?
Are you as sick as I am of people asking whether or not Barry Bonds deserves to be in the hall of fame, or deserves the record, or why people hate him?
15 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoWhy was my answer to a question removed?
A Tyler M asked, in the baseball category, and thes are his exact words - "Where can I find Hideki Okajima's necklace?" He did not ask where can I find a necklace like Hideki Okajima's, or where did Hideki Okajima buy his necklace. Yahoo removed my answer, and I have looked over the guidelines and can't find any reason for them to remove them. Is this something anyone can do simply by asking Yahoo to remove their answer, would it have been done by the asker, or would Yahoo have found it inappropriate in some way? Whatever the reason, whoever decided it shouldn't be allowed to stay is either an idiot or has absolutely no sense of humor. Your thoughts?
10 AnswersBaseball1 decade agoHow would baseball have been different if Ted Williams had been traded for Joe DiMaggio?
In 1949, a trade was proposed that would have sent Ted Williams from the Red Sox to the Yankees for Joe DiMaggio. How do you think this would have changed the careers of both men, the teams themselves, and the American League pennant races of the 1950's?
