  • Semi-serious Windows xp hic-up -- lost all my "personal data" -- would like to restore if possible?

On power up from Stand-by received an error message when logging into Windows via my User Account. (I am the only user -- but I like having the password protection). The message was something like "cannot load personal data" or "personal profile data" something like that. Windows did open, but my screen saver was gone along with all the icons I had added to the desktop. "My Documents" was basically empty, as was "My Pictures" (on the Start Menu) -- it was like starting from scratch. When I follow the path, C:\Documents and Settings\Doyle\Doyle's Documents\ . . . well, all that stuff is still there and is accessible to open and to other programs. All my bookmarks (favorites) in both Mozilla and Explorer are also gone . . . that's a lot of links . . . So, is there any way to restore the pathways and personal connections? I am running an older Dell Inspiron 8600 with 1.2 meg RAM, plenty of disk space, I think the clock is 333 Mhz and it is Windows xp operating system and Kaspersky Virus/System Protection. Thanks for any positive help and guidance, I am a bit of an old DOS hand but never have done much with the workings of Windows so I am unsure of how/where to go piddling around to try and restore things.

  • What is the percentage of power loss when adding a 20 ohm resistance to a 12 vdc circuit?

I would like to use an in-line high-low switch with a 12 volt dc computer cooling fan to reduce noise. The fan's no load power is .63 watts, 53.5 milli amps with a resultant 1500 RPM, 20 dbA, and 47.6 CFM. The "low" load on the switch is 20 ohms -- what will this load do to fan speed? (Percentage?) Just need a general idea of the impact . . . a 25% reduction, a third, half? If the math isn't too complex could you include it in your answer? Thank you very much.

  • Not sure where to ask this, it is about hummingbirds, they are not really my "pets" but I do like them . . . ?

. . . and in order to get a whole lot closer I invented a wearable hummingbird feeder. Hummingbirds feed right in front of your eyes right between your eyes, about an inch above your nose. I have it on my website, and I have several youtube clips, and a couple of blog sites have picked it up, but it has not yet made a big "national" splash. It would be good to do so because I am a cottage industry manufacturer and I could put some more folks to work. So my question, any suggestions for gaining some attention to a truly incredible product that is handmade in America? you can put "wearable hummingbird feeder" in yahoo search and pick up on the videos. Thank you for your thoughtful responses.

  • Christians, Do You Believe That There Is a Difference Between the Spirit of a Person and the Soul of a Person?

Or could there be a difference? (You might want to take into consideration Heb 4:12 and 1st Thess 5:23 . . . plus other scripture).

  • Christians (?) Have You Read the Bible? All of it?

Not just most of it. Can you stand before the Lord God and honestly answer to Him that "Yes . . I have read all of Your Book?"

I ask this because in my own informal survey of Christians, well more than half of them have not read the Book? What's up with that? Personally, for me, it only really started to "hang together" as a whole after the third time through (in 3 different translations)

How is it, that we can find the time to read all kinds of "Christian" "stuff", and not find time to read the Bible? How is it that we can spend hours in front of the TV . . . and not 15 minutes in scripture?
